Golf 2026

Took him 11 years to win 5th major, only 12 months to win his 6th major WOW that is some effort

Hatton is definitely good enough to win major, just needs to put it all together on the Sunday. I do wonder how many more chances Justin will get to win this now. Unsure about whether Fleetwood is going to win a major. Maybe it's just me but Scheffler definitely looks an older 29.

Definitely not just you. He looks older than 30 BEFORE he takes his hat off. Dude needs rogaine

It's mad too when you think he really should have won the 2022 Open, 2023 and 2024 US Opens too, he could easily have 9 majors now. Shoulda, woulda, coulda I know but now he's got over the mental block he can definitely get a few more now.

Yeah definitely cleared the mental block now

Phil has 6 second place finishes without winning US open.

Rose now has 3 second place finishes and 3rd place today without winning the Masters. Golf is cruel! Think about the fact that between him and winning 3 majors is about 4 strokes in total.

Could definitely sense some regret in Rose interview about how he played Amen Corner last night

So happy for Rory. Glad Scottie didn’t catch him up. Only would’ve been okay for Rose to win it if not Rory.

I don’t think there’s not any debate anymore that Rory’s the greatest international’ golfer let alone European one, particularly considering his 30 PGA tour victories as well.
I thought he actually drove better in the final round than the previous 3, and he was pretty much in control throughout the back 9. I think this victory more than last years is going to give him a lot confidence going into the majors the next couple of years or so, it will help his mindset tremendously as long as he has the motivation & dedication.

Fair play to Rory for winning back to back. I don't think he wins it this year without getting rid of the decade long grudge last year.
Great golfer, much deserved.

He drove well this round until the last hole. But what would Rory be without some squeaky bum time I guess

Fair play Rory!
Obviously played his best stuff on Thursday & Friday but really had to grind it out on Saturday & Sunday.
The par on 11 followed by birdies on 12 & 13 were massive.

As far as excitement goes, this was a top notch tournament. Everyone had an opportunity to make a run and they did. So many changes to top of leaderboard.

When Rory hit that tee off 18th, I'm sure everyone watching would have gone ....wtf!

Haotongi Li was so much fun!

Could argue he cost scheffler the tournament. Scottie likes to play fast

He had a run of holes on Saturday where he was just outrageous, Li that is

Yeah he was able to call on last year for experience

Was he called consistently slow? Outside of that quintuple bogey hole? I don't think so.
Had a 6 on the 12th, took his time, and the 10 on a par 5 that’s an eagle hole for Scotty. It definitely didn’t help having to wait around so much

Scottie was dreadful on the par 5s all week (bar the 2nd). His only birdie at 13/15 was the one right at the end on the 15th, which was a bit of a miracle itself. No suggestion at all that he was going to eagle 13 but for getting delayed, given he was +1 on it for the first 3 days.

I wouldn't let any of them back on the main tours personally.

I presume the Saudis will honour all of those lucrative, multi-year deals they handed out.
