Golf 2026

They really have no future prospects. After Koepka and Reed (and potentially Rahm) no top talent will join them. And moving to 72 holes will turn them into a cheap imitation of PGA.

PIF backed them as a means to get into PGA and that's not happening now.

Though it is a shame. PGA should have found a way to make a deal and get the money and use to supplement or restructure the other world tours. You don't leave billions on the table without even attempting to assimilate them somehow.

Also it'll look plain bad for PGA to not take the players in again. Just take the hit and get this over with, giving them the same penalties as with Koepka.

Sergio confident all is well

He's thick as shit. Talking about what they said months ago. Hope it all goes tits up for him, can't stand the bloke.

He's set for life with going there though, I was happy when he disappeared off our screens for most tournaments, same with a few of them who went tbh, Westwood and Poulter have always came across as a self entitled twats too.

It attracts twats. Bryson and Phil are fixing up their image for YT. Bubba and DJ are already one step into retirement.

Nieman seems to be only one I like to see on tour.

Fitz too good for Scottie in the playoff. Broke him with the brilliance of his approach.

Great win for Fitzpatrick in very challenging circumstances. The PGA tour is extremely tough, to get 2 wins and a second place in a month, including at 2 signature events, is some achievement. He’s becoming one of the few really elite players on the PGA.

Harbour Town is perhaps the most equalizing course on the Tour. Typically, it is the / one of the courses where the players use their driver the least, much more of a shotmaker's course. Also a putter's course as the size of the greens are super small on average; almost every GIR leads to a legitimate birdie opportunity.

Golf is more interesting when drivers are used the least.

Matthew Fitzpatrick at it again, this time with his brother, they scored a 57 in the fourballs, a record on the PGA tour, and lead by 4 shots going in to the final day foursomes of the Zurich Classic. If they win it will be life changing for Alex Fitzpatrick as he’ll get a 2 year exemption for the PGA tour.

Alex is a decent golfer himself, he has a win on the DP world tour this year too, I watched the front nine yesterday they were playing some blistering golf

The Fitzpatrick brothers getting it over the line, just. But a bit of magic at the end from Matt with that bunker shot, incredible shot especially considering the circumstances. I heard that it’s the first time an Englishman has one 3 events on the PGA tour in one season.
And Nelly Korda closed her major out, and is back at the top of the World rankings. That’s some sporting families!!

That bunker shot on 18 from Matt is one of the best shots I've seen - unreal technique. They were shaky and on the verge of letting it slip, but what a way to seal the deal.
(I was obviously rooting for the noggies. What a finish from them as well. The approach from Reitan on 18 was pure class.)

It's a failed concept that appeals to very few. We have PGA for pros and the upswing of YT golf for those who want to have fun.

Golf but louder is something that rarely appeals to even the occasional weekend golfer.

The only plus was the international presence. They should just become a rolling international signature tour for the PGA.

Just because PIF is pulling funding doesn’t mean it’s dead. They’ve such a popular product now. I’m sure they’ll find another benefactor willing to lose $5-6Bn

Team golf is such an insane thing outside of the Ryder Cup and lesser extent The Presidents Cup, like anyone would get excited for this was pretty stupid to be honest, I know the TGL do this but it's indoor and simulated golf I've never watched it myself, no one is interested in what John Rahm's team is doing

Do we even want any other than top 5 them in PGA?

Rahm, Bryson, Niemann, Hatton are probably the only ones who can contribute.

Likes of Sergio, DJ, Phil are all has beens now and pretty much useless both in game and as a star power. Any younger/newer players can go through Korn Ferry again.

David Puig and Tom McKibbin are talented players with big futures ahead of them.

Random conversation starter … but where do people stand on those that joined LIV?

Question spurred by the article on the BBC about Rahm settling with the European Tour and the comments in the comments section.

I did follow it when it all took off, but perhaps I’m missing some of the drama. To my mind, obviously LIV is a shambles and whoever joined it didn’t do their reputation any favours, but on the other hand dangled before them was a heap of money and I can understand the allure. Of course, that dent to them shouldn’t preclude them from having to jump through hoops to regain their places on PGA/DP tours, instead of being handed a place back, but some of the comments are pure hate, which I’m not sure I’m fully in the camp of.

What am I missing? Genuinely open minded.

I just want the best golfers competing against each other as often as possible
