Golf 2026

Which is my logic too - so I don’t get the whole “they should never play again because the signed up for LIV” weird.
The one thing I don't want to see is them taking the place of tour players who stayed loyal without somehow earning a spot. Maybe Q school or something is the answer.

I understand why most of them joined LIV, and they all knew the implications.
No one, should be given their tour card back without actually qualifying.
Whether it's through Q-school or whatever it's called, the European Tour, the Asian Tour or similar. They should actually qualify for those tours as well, not just be handed a membership or status because of accomplishments of yesteryear.
Some have excemptions to ceratin tournaments and majors through winning certain tournaments previously, which is fair, but that should be the only torunaments they should be allowed to enter without qualifying.
(And don't get me started on sponsor picks - that should be abolished altogether)
However, if they do qualify in one way or another, they should absolutely be welcome back.

This is where I am at as well. Let them take the normal route to gain tour status again.
But Bryson can feck off. That Trump fan should stay on Youtube or create a Maga Tour.

Well the DP Tour will have Rahm and Hatton back in any case, that’s a big deal for the DP Tour.

Alex Fitzpatrick is leading the Truist Championship! Imagine if he gets a win under his belt now!
Yeah, looks like he’ll have a one shot lead going in to the final round. That would be some achievement if he wins and firmly put him in the public eye over in the US.
There was a interesting interview with Cameron Young just after his round today, Cam & Alex were team mates & buddies at University in the US and Cam was very complimentary about Alex and his game.

Reitan playing some amazing golf as well. Two rookies out in the lead on sunday - hopefully one of them will prevail.

Alex seems like a genuinely likeable lad, comes across as though he has won the lotto and doesnt quite know how he is where he is, and then plays like that today to show just how good he is.

Delighted for him, hope he sees it out tonight but it doesnt really matter if he doesnt, he is on his way to establishing himself regardless.

To add on - how Alex is doing is a good reminder for those who only follow the PGAT that the top end of the DPWT is really strong. I fully expect Penge to make a similar impact in the PGAT in time, as I do for Puig once the LIV nonsense is put out of its misery. The qualification route from DPWT to PGAT is great and hopefully there to stay.

Reitan has definitely gone under the radar. Because golfers practice so much together, you usually here one or two whisperings about players before they start getting results. In the case of Reitan there was virtually nothing until last year on the DP Tour. People are starting to take notice now though.
The PGA Tour leaderboards are full of Europeans nowadays, they’re starting to dominate.

Saying all of this without mentioning Reitan as well is British bias or something?

First time I've ever been accused of British bias!

Singling out the Brit because of the fact he's already a winner. Reitan is doing really well but I think long term he's not at Penge or Puig level, which is why I name them. Do you see more in Reitan?

I just found it odd talking about the DP world Tour alumni without mentioning that there is actually a pair of them playing together in the last group.

I have no idea how to measure potential in golf, but it’s very interesting that Reitan was very, very close to giving up altogether a little while back. I think he took a full season away from competitive golf in 2022, before giving it one last chance. And now he’s the outright leader through 57 holes in a signature event on the PGA tour, after a phenomenal 2025 season on the DP World Tour.

Major week!
Who'll win ? (Scheffler/McIllroy bets not allowed!)

Trying to read up a bit on the golf course - and it seems to be favor good putters and short game players.
In no particular order, I think Morikawa, Matty Fitz, Harman, Spaun and Cantlay will be in contention, but I think Cam Young will win his first major.
I guess both Rahm and Hatton will make some noise as well.

Hoping for a scandi dominated leaderboard with the Højgaard brothers, Noren, Åberg, Hovland and Reitan all in the top 20.

Yes, Rory said something like „there‘s no strategy off the tees needed“ and the green complexes are what’s gonna decide the winner.

Aronimink is no joke of a course, typically in the top 50 toughest every year. It is always great to see Donald Ross courses played in majors. Antithetically different than most courses being built today. A different brand of game is needed for a DR course, it's not a bullshit track like Valhalla which surrendered 21 under par to the winner two years ago.

It’s a great course, but it’s (as per usual..) set up in such away that good shots are getting unfairly punished IMO. But that is what they seem to want. The players will have to stay patient and not let there emotions get in the way.

It's a different brand of golf on a different style of course. The players do not play on much DR greens often so playing on those crowned greens (similar to Pinehurst) is penal to the extent that the greens repel most shots & hold the great ones. There's also little rough around the greens which exacerbates shots which don't hold the green. Pinehurst is lauded for their green complexes & Aronimink deserves the same.

Hope we get a new winner at the PGA. Really tough conditions so far. Lucky lads teeing off late.

That said, after watching a fair bit of the Lads, J'Day seems an absolute legend so would love to see him top a leaderboard again.

Hard to see past Scheffler here, incredibly impressive in tough conditions today. Great leaderboard, great test of golf. Loving those first two days.

I see Bryson gave himself a few extra days off to work on his YT career.

Good looking leaderboard, could be anyone's from here. It would be nice to see Cam Young pick up his first major here, I feel like he's due one.

Really enjoying this and completely disagree with the players complaining about setup. It should be difficult to make birdies without making the course tricked-up, I think they have a good balance. And two rounds in, the best player in the world remains favourite. Hard to argue with it.

Didn't realize til today that the PGA Championship is all professionals, no amateurs.
Professional Golfer’s Association of America..

Anybody who’s registered as a PGA professional includes golf instructors etc. So any pro club player, but not necessarily a golfer who plays in professional tournaments.
