Very good for UK golf so far this year. I'd dearly love to see Rosey pick up one more before he enters the twilight of his career.
@Rams marco Penge needs to change something up. He’s never gonna put it together for 4 rounds at this level, guy needs a swing change it’s too wild
Just watched the interview with Rai. What a super nice and humble guy! Really happy for him. Also he said that he supports Utd. I know I will cheer for his future success!

Yeah by how own standard he was poor, but he hasn’t exactly been known for hitting a lot of fairways the last few years
Rory was poor on the first day, but drove decently enough on the other days. There were only a couple of really wild ones off the tea after the first round.
Just felt it was there for the taking and if he found a few more fairways he would have had more looks at birdie. The big problem was the par at 9 was it after the 380 yard drive and then the par 5s all week.
He has the length to drop a club or 2 on those par 5s hit the fairway and still reach in 2.
He was never gonna win on that course, doesn’t suit his eye. Made for guys that hit a fade
I mean he was 1 behind with about 9 holes left. Not sure how you can say he was never going to win.

If your gonna talk about what did it for Rory it was round one not his driving, if he was at -8 with Rai it would have put some pressure on Rai for sure

Yeah, it definitely wasn’t stolen, RAI was the only one who stood up and shot a tournament winning score. He’s done it before on difficult golf courses on the DP Tour, and now he’s done it when it matters most at a major.

The reason he still uses them is quite nice though, the story goes his parents bought him some clubs Titleist I think when he was young and they were expensive and he didn't want to ruin them so he used them and has kept using them from that day

Kids being bought expensive clubs is a common story. 99% of them don’t use iron covers. Tony Finau grew up a lot, lot poorer than Aaron rai and even if the church of LDS told him the prophet uses iron covers, he still wouldn’t.
Might be common but at the same time it's nice he appreciated it so much he did that and still remembers why sometimes it's small things that lead to big things
I think he just likes them and created a feel good story to justify it. Same with the gloves, millions of rounds of golf played every year in cold temperatures, but he’s the only one wearing two gloves. Rain gloves to boot. I think he’s doing it because his hands are so sweaty, which is caused by being anxious about people bringing up his iron covers.
I mean when you win a major (and come across as a good guy), who cares whether what he's wearing cool or not!

In interviews he has stated he uses 2 gloves because he’s so used to wearing 2 gloves whilst playing his irons since his youth, he struggles with the feel when he uses only the left one.

I think courses that play this easy don't really offer any challenge. I'd say -18 to -22 would be ideal numbers indicating a good balanced course.
