Granada Club de Fútbol, S.A.D., known simply as Granada and nicknamed Nazaríes, is a Spanish football club in the city of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Granada Club de Fútbol was founded on 14 April 1931, originally as Recreativo de Granada; the first president was Julio López Fernández. It was him who registered the club in the Registry of Associations in the Civil Government and presented the first Board of Directors. The first football match was played against the Deportivo Jaén on 6 December 1931, which resulted in a 2–1 victory. That season, the club finished 2nd in the Tercera Regional – Región Sur championship. 4 wins in 6 matches helped Granada CF to be promoted to the Segunda Regional.

After several promotions, in 1941–42 the club made its La Liga debut. It was the match against the Celta on 28 September 1941. During that season the Granada had some historical home wins, among them 8–0 against the Real Oviedo and 6–0 against the Barcelona. The Granada finished the season in the 10th position among 14 teams. From here until the 1980s, it alternated between that category and the Segunda División, with its golden age coming during the 1970s, with eight top flight seasons, which included a best-ever two sixth league places (1971–72, 1973–74). The Granada finished the 1971-72 season with 9 wins in the last 10 home games, among them wins against the Barcelona and the Real. In 1959 the Granada achieved its greatest sports landmark, being the runner-up of the Copa del Generalísimo (later Copa del Rey).

The Derby of eastern Andalusia also known as the Andalucía Oriental derby (the Derbi Andaluz, the Derbi Oriental) is the name of a running football club rivalry in eastern Andalusia region, Spain, between the Málaga CF (previously the CD Málaga) and the Granada CF. The club plays its home matches at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes.

Rashford is clearly not fully fit. He needs to be rested for this. Give Amad a start.

Intriguing to see which keeper starts. Since Dean is now number 1, does DDG become the EL keeper? I wouldn’t mind that.

Time to give AWB a dropping too, the guy just isn’t playing well enough.

Shaw should be able to start considering he only played one game for England.

Rashford is clearly nursing a minor injury - don’t risk it.

Cavani was awful today, but he’s clearly not yet match fit, so that 80 minutes would have done him good.

    DDG
    Bailly Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McT VdB
    Mason Bruno Pogba
    Cavani

    0-2 United.

Hopefully we secure the tie from this game. I mean it shouldn't be really harder than Sociedad game.

Rest Rashford, Lindelöf and Shaw, otherwise a strong team to get a solid result.

    ................... De Gea

    Bissaka - Tuanzebe - Maguire - Telles

    .............. Pogba - Fred

    ................Fernandes

Greenwood - Cavani - Martial (James)

Why do people want us to rest players ? FFS this is a quarter final and we aren't winning the league and have a comfortable lead in the top 4 race so why rest players ???

If the decision has been made that Henderson is to be #1 and De Gea is leaving at the end of the season I’d stick with Henderson in net.

    Henderson
    AWB - Tuanzebe - Maguire - Telles
    McTominay - Pogba
    Amad - VdB - James
    Greenwood

Some players must rest, and this should be good enough

Granada is an awful team by spanish standards - 4 wins in the last 16 games in the league - 9 defeats. The fact that Roberto Soldado is their most dangerous attacking player says it all - the guy hasn't hit double figures in the league since 2013 - and he is almost 36 years old now.

There is no excuse not to beat this team.

I said some need it. I dont think Bruno needs one
We should rest for Tottenham, play our strongest side Thursday & put the tie to bed. AWB just has two weeks off, he doesn’t need resting on Thursday. I would hate for us to get too cute against a team we should put away easily.

Or go full strength for both ...
Or that. It’s a sprint to the finish, no point in faffing around now worrying about fitness.

Also wouldn’t want to throw two very green youngsters into the first leg of a European competition, that’s a recipe for disaster.

I imagine it will be an unchanged XI. Maybe McSauce will come in for one of Cavani, Greenwood or Fred.

Our attack is faultering. Granada are not very good. Personally would go for a front 3 of Rashford Greenwood Amad

    Time to try something new.

One eye will be on Spurs away on Sunday so I would expect 3 or 4 changes to the starting 11.

They had a poor result at the weekend but Granada are best at home, only Alt Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona and Real Madrid have a better home record this season in the La Liga.

I’d rather rest players for Spurs and prioritise this. We’re 11 points clear of 5th with a better goal difference.

Winning the Europa League would take this from a pretty good season to a brilliant one.

With top 4 mostly sured up. We should focus on the EL and play our strongest team minus Rashford(needs a break) and see if we can get a decent lead like against Socidead

    VdB - Bruno - James
    Cavani

Granada 0-3 MUFC. Greenwood off for Cavani at the half. Or vice versa. Once we hit three goals, Bruno is off and VdB moves to the middle while Diallo fills in on the right. The others come in as needed to relieve James, VdB, and McTominay.
