Denzel Washington in 95% of the movies he’s been in.

Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody. A colossal performance in a film that otherwise got it wrong in more ways than I can count.

James Franco in Springbreakers

In my opinion the greatest ever performance in cinema.

Can we extend it to TV Shows?

Sir Patrick Stewart in the early seasons of The Next Generation. Some of the worst dialogue and plots imaginable but he's gone balls deep into the character.

If not; Gary Oldman in The Darkest Hour.

Adam Driver in the new trilogy. Absolutely embarrasses everyone else.

Or maybe he’s just too good for those movies!

Malek is one of the reasons (albeit not the main one) that film is so bad. Caricature performance at its finest. Not helped by the dreadful writing but shit performance.

Deja Vu came to mind when I saw the thread then the taking of pelham
Inside Man isn’t a bad movie but he’s pretty good in it. Man on Fire would’ve been garbage without Washington as well.
