This likely means that ETH sees the need to fill 2 positions (CB and RB). The wing-back position is the least important in football, so prioritising a CB makes sense from that perspective.

But yes, like you, I also hope to see someone new at RB.

Pep and Klopp have revolutionised the use of them and their importance in attack and retaining possession.

That's been the usual kind of number most years now, that's the Glazer way it seems.

Honestly I'm not so sure this year. I think on the back of that season it'll be extremely difficult to convince players at this point.

Varane's injury isn't that serious, its a 2 week lay off is all.

If we manage to sign FDJ I reckon ETH will see those 2 as his main midfield and want to go back to his Ajax set up for sure. He's going to be the marquee signing of the summer for us. He'll directly replace Pogba and get his number I'd say.

Given that the world cup kicks off mid Nov, we need to bed in new signings ASAP.
