true, but still the only place to get some players for a decent amount. The budget isn’t high enough to get the amount of players that are needed. You know there are other leagues other than the Eridivisie right .
I doubt City will sell HaalandDe Gea

Bruno Haaland Sancho
I agree, they're almost not trying to hide it at this stage. Share price is at an all time low and the owners response is to tighten pure strings and gamble on a miracle happening.I'm guessing it's going to be a very poor one.
Honestly considering we've lost Pogba and Greenwood we will probably have a worse team than last season. Club just isn't serious at all
You are wrong. The club are working behind the Scenes to bring in players for ETH and it will happen. It’s day 5 into the transfer window. There’s international football ongoing. Give it a minute and relax.I'm guessing it's going to be a very poor one.

Where exactly is the optimism coming from? Would love to share your view, but I'm sorry I can't.You are wrong. The club are working behind the Scenes to bring in players for ETH and it will happen. Well if we don't sign 2 starting Midfielders the season will be over before it starts to be fairYou are wrong. The club are working behind the Scenes to bring in players for ETH and it will happen. Absolutely correct. It really is that simple.Well if we don't sign 2 starting Midfielders the season will be over before it starts to be fair
Honestly would love to have this optimism. You are wrong. The club are working behind the Scenes to bring in players for ETH and it will happen. It’s day 5 into the transfer window. There’s international football ongoing. Give it a minute and relax.
I get it. But at the same time, this club has hit its lowest eb.. shares are down, fans are protesting, we’re losing games, losing champions league.. lowest points total since PL era... no fight for the shirt... more talk than ever than the state of the club, the ground, the facilities.Where exactly is the optimism coming from? Would love to share your view, but I'm sorry I can't.
see my post aboveHonestly would love to have this optimism.
We've had a decade of a shit show at this point in terms of player recruitment and everything involved in that, from scouting, transfer negotiations and then developing said investments.
City get Haaland, Pool get Nunez... meanwhile were linked with Danny Feckin Ings!
I get all of that, but we need new personnel on the pitch. ETH can probably get a better tune out of the current group but our pitfalls, especially in midfield but also defence and full backs, as well as needing a back up striker are too big of a problem to be overlooked.I get it. But at the same time, this club has hit its lowest eb.. shares are down, fans are protesting, we’re losing games, losing champions league.. lowest points total since PL era... no fight for the shirt... more talk than ever than the state of the club, the ground, the facilities.
already we have a forward thinking, progressive manager who made conditions to come here.. he has bought in his team. Woodward is gone, we have a new CEO who doesn’t want to make footballing decisions. he wants footballing people to make football decisions. We have lost a large majority of the staff that were here last season and got new people in. Qualified people.
pogba, lingard, mata, Cavani, grant.. all gone already. We’re 5 days into the transfer window.
The glazers know more than ever we have to start getting it right. It isn’t FM.. it’s a tough market. ETH will focus on players that are realistic, probably players he knows. That’s why we will probably get the likes of FDJ, timber and Antony. They all know him and love him, will run through a brick wall for him.
ETH isn’t a stupid guy, he has laid his conditions. The club will work on it.
I actually feel more positive than I have in a whil, I really believe in this manager. I could be wrong. Not like we haven’t had false dawns before.. but he is different to anything we have had since fergie left.
believe. United has always had tough times and it’s ALWAYS bounced back. That’s the magic of this club.
Similar stories were echoed for LVG, Jose and Ole... its all waffle.already we have a forward thinking, progressive manager who made conditions to come here..
I genuinely think if things aren’t different very quick this fan base will turn very nasty. You saw it last season but it will intensify massively. Glazers always spend when they miss out on CL football because 2 seasons in a row, Adidas don’t pay them. I think we will bring a few new signings in this summer. We will see a few changes over the next couple of months. We have to sell some players too which I’m sure is being worked on.I get all of that, but we need new personnel on the pitch. ETH can probably get a better tune out of the current group but our pitfalls, especially in midfield but also defence and full backs, as well as needing a back up striker are too big of a problem to be overlooked.
Hypothetically, so what if the glazers promised ETH the world and fail to deliver on those assurances? He'll have to get on with it. I have no faith that we will substantially improve the squad before the season starts.
I love the optimism and I hope that we can all be right there with you soon! My worry is that the changes stop with management. The Glazers do not seem to be exactly on the ball (if you'll pardon the pun) with football in any way. So they have thrown the chequebook at players in the past and now they see that hasn't worked, they're trying the hipster manager route. Get rid of a few useless staff members too and hope that this turns things around.I get it. The last paragraph sums up exactly where I am.I love the optimism and I hope that we can all be right there with you soon! My worry is that the changes stop with management. As far as I'm aware though, we haven't added anyone to the scouting or recruitment departments that might mean our approach to signings will be any better than previous seasons, and with a tight budget and all the talk bring about De Jong, it feels like one of those 'well we tried to get X player all summer and that didn't work, so here's Fellaini' situations.
the glazers have never and never will be football experts, they just hold the chequebook so it really is down to the people in the footballing roles to make the correct decisions. One thing the glazers have done is spend on players. Not much else.. but they have always done that. ETH will know his budget and they will be working around the clock to fufill it, they won’t be sat twiddling their thumbs. If the signings don’t happen it won’t be through lack of trying, it will be because it’s not a given, it’s not easy like it used to be.. for this club. 20 years ago.. haaland signs for united, doesn’t even look at city.. but here we are. Football is different, it’s changed, so let’s hope we can be smart in the market and chase actually attainable targets. That’s going to be the key.I love the optimism and I hope that we can all be right there with you soon! My worry is that the changes stop with management. Chasing FDJ when Barca want 100m, meanwhile Bissouma signs for Spurs for 25m.so let’s hope we can be smart in the market and chase actually attainable targets. That’s going to be the key.
Is it 'amazing' though?Amazing seeing so many posters basically posting the exact same XI as last season with just FDJ added.
Probably should of divulged a bit more... amazing that after all the talk of revolution etc most everyone seems to think its a case of the same old faces next year.Is it 'amazing' though?
Personally, I don't feel there is much appetite at the club to make wholesale changes to this squad of players.
I just don't see any possibility whatsoever that the club are going to effectively write off Maguire, Rashford & Shaw.
Honestly, the only player in that XI that I think might be replaced is Dalot, but even then, I think that depends largely on selling Wan-Bissaka, and I'm not convinced that will happen.
