A shooting early Sunday at a house party held in honor of someone who was killed in April left 13 people wounded, four of them critically, Chicago police said. The shooting stemmed from a dispute at the memorial party, Chief of Patrol Fred Waller said at an early morning news conference.
"It looked like they were just shooting randomly at people as they exited the party," Waller said.
Waller did not provide details on the person who was being memorialized, but family members told
CBS Chicago the party was a memorial for 22-year-old Lonell Irvin, who was shot and killed on April 26. Police said Irvin tried to carjack a 41-year-old man at gunpoint. The driver, a concealed carry license holder, pulled out his own gun and shot Irvin in the head.
