Haaland at City

It's not surprising that he's outscored all of those at all, what is surprising is that he's outscored them in 13 games or so. That is totally bonkers.
That tbf, is yes very impressive haha.

Hopefully Norway can go far in the tournament, would be some great vibes out on the town here during the summer.

Still remember when people would post videos here on CAF saying we should buy this striker from Molde who was massive for his age and scoring for fun. Then Soljskaer tried to make it happen, but our structure said no...

One of the misses of the decade for sure.

I can’t for the life of me grasp the idea that “Haaland is good, but player B is a better footballer.” You don’t score that many goals by being good at only one thing. His goal-scoring record is mind-blowing, regardless of the level he’s played at or whether his club or country are considered lesser in stature than others. I genuinely wonder how many he’d score if he played for a country like France, and I fully believe he’d easily hit 20+ goals for a Premier League side like Wolves, I rate him more highly then Mbappe who comes across extremely unlikeable compared to Haaland.

Woodward or Murtough probably didn't see any "Disney" money/PR in him. They where all about PR and didn't care as much about making money through actually winning things. So it's definitely down to those 2 clowns. OGS tried twice even, once as a favour, calling the club up and second time when he was manager (no?).

Haaland actually seems very different than your average media-trained player. I like him for that, I am not sure there is a more likeable football player oh his stature out there currently. Does not come off as asshole at all.

Given United's propensity in recent years to feck players up, do you think he'd be the player he is now if he'd joined United from Molde?

Haaland strikes me as inevitable, so yes. But he'd have far fewer goals at this stage. And he would probably have left us by now.

But are we sure that he would have joined us even back then? Him and his dad seem rather calculated in everything they do. He could have gone to a bigger club than Dortmund after Salzburg, for instance.

I've no doubt he'd have got to where he is eventually, but not at United, you're right, his Dad has set him o his path and that never included OT

His real wage, when you account for after dinner speaking and all the great work Alfie does as an ambassador is inevitably absolutely staggering, well beyond what is considered normal for the league.

I don’t think people should worry too much about how he would have been for us.

What shit is I don't see any natural progression for him to leave City. Madrid has Mbappe so don't need him
Barca maybe? But doesn't strike me as a Barca type of player
Bayern? Bit of a step down from the prem.
Italy? No shot

When has this stopped them in the past?

Barcelona would literally kill to get him.

Elite finishing alone is not getting you a goal involvement for Norway every 61 minutes. Probably the best combined movement to finishing-level in the last 30 Years for a Number 9.

Haaland likely receives extra remuneration under the table like Pep, gifts like expensive art, watches, jewels... UAE will ensure the benefits are too good for him to consider other clubs in his peak years. He's one of the few who can claim he's at City not for money but for sentimental reasons and have the adoration of United fans so he has no reason to leave.

He's entering his prime as a player; he was always pacy with a huge stride and was elite at escaping markers to find space, now Pep is tailoring his tactics to suit Haaland's game and propensity to hold off defenders using his size. Finishing-wise and in terms of overall football skills Kane is still much better, but Kane (1.88m) and Mbappe (1.78m) don't have Haaland's combination of pace, physicality, and height that lets him bully defenders with ease.

Zlatan comparisons are painful sorry. He's well beyond.

Zlatan was all about finesse, despite being the same height as Haaland their dribbling skills aren't remotely on the same level. One is an elite 1v1 goalscorer who thrives in tons of space and the other is an elite footballer who improvises outrageously creative passes against low blocks. Those who claim Haaland >>> Zlatan just like watching him eat defenders alive with pace and physicality, he's a living manifestation of the American Dream of how USA's physical specimens can dominate soccer if they didn't go into NFL or NBA instead.

No longer scoring...has the raw milk finally caught up to him?
Think he were building up towards the pivotal games for Norway. Were always going to slow down a bit in the aftermath of World Cup qualification

100 Premier League goal club after 111 games.

Is he already the best striker this league has ever seen at 25?

He will be in Madrid in a year or two. Mbappe on the left, him down the center and any decent guy on the left will be an awesome combo.

He won treble so it's hard to say it's not. Wise career move, and on the books alone he's paid pretty well and according to market rate. Not many can match his on the book wage

He's annoyingly likeable.
He is, and it doesn't seem like a blag. Very grounded and [seemingly] honest - he often speaks from the perspective of fans, too, both really young ones and the normal supporter as well as insights for those looking to be footballers. You don't really get such roundedness from players these days, especially not megastars who generally speak like media trained bots.

Aye, his dad's done a good job. The Rory delap shout out was a deep cut as well

Someone should re-upload that 40-minute interview he did with 20-ish people with different levels of intellectual disability. He was awesome in that setting and actually revealed things about playing I never heard him say. about his experience on the pitch. Like preferring a bit of rain on match days.

"Would you consider using your wealth to collaborate with scientists to develop real hoverboards so that we could arrange flying football matches above the clouds like in Back to the Future?"

First I'm hearing about this. Any links to it?

Are you talking about Linekar or Haaland?

You may have to be in Norway(vpn), and there are no English subs on this version, I think, but here you go for now. It was on YouTube with English subs a month ago, but I can not find it there now.

https://tv.nrk.no/serie/a-laget/sesong/2/episode/KMTE31002125

Found several versions of it on YouTube, but without sound, and subtitles for some reason.
Ah! Thanks for the effort but I will need it in either English or German of the European languages or no dice.

Shame because that format is very cool. We have it over here, but with the likes of Lineker, David Tennant and Danny Dyer being interviewed. They all got asked extremely personal questions and were candid with their answers, which made for good TV and interviews. I'm sure the Norwegian version is just as good.

All of his 5 headed city goals this season have come from a chance with less than 0,5 goals expected. I expected him to improve his heading a bit, but this looks very good.

Also scored 4 headers in 8 WC qualification games.

Just doing sidequests.

Happy for the kids though, and that he cares enough to do this. Got a great chance to be a footballer once his youtube career dies.

He needs to stick to football, doesn't he? His media work has clearly had a negative impact on his performances this season.

Haaland is weird, but in a good way… that video of him just walking on his own in Manchester by himself was awesome.

I assume you understood the sarcasm in my post but since it's late I can't tell for sure
Then you must wait patiently for the morning.
Two more goals today. Both lame.

On a serious note, he is admittedly a good look in that Santa video. Not sure why I watched it.
