So close to conceding a penalty with an absolutely brainless challenge. Every time I watch him he just seems so… rash.
He won the ball so wouldn't have been a penalty even if he wiped him out.

Yep, he seems to really try to impress when he comes on, as if trying to convince the manage he should be a starter possibly, but as he plays more senior games he will learn to ease back on some of those challenges.
Yeah, he's definitely got chaos in him but he's 19 so doesn't seem like a big deal. Odds are it will go away as he gets into his 20s.

Why are all curly long haired players a bit crazy? David Luiz, Gendouzi are the same..

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
It was hardly a 'slam'. He threw the ball back into play and it hit Duke. From memory it was also in the back of the head not the face, although I could be wrong there.

If it was anyone else I'd probably give them the benefit of the doubt and think it was accidental and unlucky, but from what we've seen of Hannibal it probably was deliberate. He just seems overly aggressive and rash. A bit of that is fantastic, but he does seem to go overboard.

I’ve only really watched Hannibal play cameo appearances for the first team and his appearances for Tunisia. I’ve not seen anything to convince me he looks like he’s got what he needs to make it. Given I’ve not seen enough of him, but is he good enough to breakthrough as a regular or is he going down the Chong route? Zidane Iqbal looks a more promising prospect from what I’ve seen.

He has put on some great performances for Birmingham this season. You can check out some highlights

Looking over my shoulder.
Footballers must have their very own pain threshold as a unique element of their evolutionary model. Looking at the player who was hit by the throw in, one would only assume the football was filled with hot liquid alumium and covered in acid.

Can't understand how he wasn't brought on considering how much Tunisia were suffering from a lack of quality in midfield.

I can see how they went initially with Khazri who is a specialist number 10 with loads of experience to chase a goal but the guy was seriously heavy and contributed nothing.

National team coaches often keeps their favorites on the squad a bit too long. And there are probably some reasons for that, like you don’t get to practice much, keeping whatever chemistry you have developed is valuable, etc.

But hopefully he gets a chance from start against France.

I've seen plenty of both Hannibal and Iqbal in the U18's / U21's, and for me Hannibal has the much higher ceiling of the two.

He has good technical ability and mobility, and can get up and down the pitch well and contribute on the ball and off it. His major weakness is his temperament, and learning how to keep that in check and to use his fieriness as a positive than a weakness.

Zidane isn't anywhere near as fiery - though you do need a good amount of that steel and desire at a young age to push yourself and improve, so which you'd prefer, and is easier to hone as they mature, is open to debate. Both are 'pretty' on the ball - with decent amount of touch, technique and vision. But I feel Iqbal plays at a much slower pace, and wants a lot of time on the ball and is limited in terms of having the ability to drive forward and hurt teams individually. Which Hannibal possesses.

That's why I feel Hannibal has the higher ceiling. I think he has the better all round midfield game and more potential, and that it's easier to hone his temperament than it is to improve Iqbal's pace, mobility, drive, etc.

Fair enough, that’s good to know he has higher potential. Hopefully he can come through and make it at Utd!

How's he been at the WC? Seems he has a decent way to go to competing to start in our midfield.

In G1, he came on with like 10 minutes to go when Tunisia aimed to protect the draw against Tunisia. Worked hard of the ball. Didn’t play a minute in G2, a game in which Tunisia pressured against Australia after falling behind 1-0.

I hope he gets the start against France.

I guess my point is that he seems, aside from being a huge talent, to be a major works in progress (which is usually the case) rather than those rare kids that are so ready they just play even in their teens.

Which is also fine but just means that fans have to be more patient.

I dont see the hype about him. He is 19 and doesn't look anywhere near ready.

I doubt he will make it at United.

He’s on loan in the championship and starts every game and has been playing well . Iqbal is playing for an underage team where he is obviously going to stand out just like Hannibal did last season. I think Hannibal will be part of the 1st team next season

Iqbal's barely even playing for the U23s and has never really stood out at youth level, which is why his pre-season performances surprised so many.

Hannibal is on the bench again for Tunisia, same starting IX as previous two games (I think).

If they beat the French reserves+Varane and Denmark ties Australia — while Laudouni is suspended for picking up a second yellow — Hannibal should start in knockout round… ;)

Since Denmark sucks, Hannibal's next game will be vs. Blackpool on 10th December.

Surprised that he's straight back in the starting lineup. That said, he hardly played - just went for warm weather training really

Got one of the worst assists of the season in the first half against Reading. A rather poor freekick which a Reading-defender managed to miss completely - and Chong scored alone with the keeper. Chong and Deeney have torn Reading to shreds, Hannibal been ok.
