He came on at 2-2.Good experience. But it wasn’t good that we conceded 4 after he came on
My bad, that’s correct. Yet again, he wasn’t worse than Dorgu, so to speak - and it’s likely he will start on SundayHe came on at 2-2.
None of the goals had anything to do with him ??Good experience. But it wasn’t good that we conceded 4 after he came on
Agreed, I think he will too.My bad, that’s correct. Yet again, he wasn’t worse than Dorgu, so to speak - and it’s likely he will start on Sunday
Mainoo only played his 63rd professional game tonight! Let that sink in.What an experience for him in his second first team game
Based on eye test he would be my starting left wing back right now.
Same, we'll see how things change as teams begin to target him but physically he has coped well.Great to see him getting a run, he's looked a brilliant young player for a bit now. I'm surprised how well he's done physically actually, I thought he'd struggle more but it's not been a major issue, and he'll only get stronger from here.
Dorgu / Amass / Paraguayan Lad / Shaw / Dalot is looking like a very healthy stable of LWBs to go into next season.
Think Dorgu offers more tbh and his profile is better suited for the WB position at the moment.
Amass however would be better in a game we are expected to have more possession I feel though.
I'm cautiously optimistic on Dorgu, simply based on the physicality he offers to our often so sluggish team. But absolutely, he needs to improve his on the ball work and one-on-one defending if he's going to hold the spot down long term.Same, we'll see how things change as teams begin to target him but physically he has coped well.
Watching Dorgu sometimes is painful, so technically limited.
Very fair summary I reckon. It'll be interesting to see how the battle for that spot goes as Amass hopefully establishes himself.I'm by no means writing Dorgu off. I have seen far too many signings improve after settling in. His 1 on 1 defending just really worries me at the moment.
I think Amass looks a bit more likely to keep his eye on the ball in those situations right now and obviously gives a bit more technically.
Neither of them has had near enough time in the team to say anything definitive but just based on the eye test I'd be happy with him getting a lot of minutes.

Yeah he's done. Looked really overweight too.Not convinced!
Not convinced!
Oh I listed those in rough order of preference for me. He'd be 3rd/4th choice if still here in my mind, which I'd rather he wasn't. Ideally he'd have been gone a long time ago but hey, United needed someone to take the mantle from Phil and he stepped up.Yeah he's done. Looked really overweight too.

Grew into the game, you could see him taking on more and more responsibility.Thought it was his best showing so far by some distance - in both attack and defense.
