What an experience for him in his second first team game

Good experience. But it wasn’t good that we conceded 4 after he came on

Apart from Luke he looks like the most technically gifted LB at the club.
If he gets game time before the next Euro game then he may end up being first choice for that game as well.

Based on eye test he would be my starting left wing back right now.

Think Dorgu offers more tbh and his profile is better suited for the WB position at the moment.

Amass however would be better in a game we are expected to have more possession I feel though.

Might be the one to benefit mostly from Amorim focusing on Europa and playing a less experienced side in the league games.

If you are one of the academy boys you need to stay fit now, the coming months will be a huge opportunity for Amass and Obit etc.

Great to see him getting a run, he's looked a brilliant young player for a bit now. I'm surprised how well he's done physically actually, I thought he'd struggle more but it's not been a major issue, and he'll only get stronger from here.

Dorgu / Amass / Paraguayan Lad / Shaw / Dalot is looking like a very healthy stable of LWBs to go into next season.

Same, we'll see how things change as teams begin to target him but physically he has coped well.

Watching Dorgu sometimes is painful, so technically limited.

I'd be starting him in almost every league game left assuming we make it to final of Europa.

Dorgu and Dalot can rotate the right side.

They get rest and maybe Amass makes himself a genuine option for next season.

Think he's a good fit profile wise. Cracking crossing ability and a much better passer of the ball compared to Dorgu. Dorgu seems physically better than Amass (stamina, pace, endurance, strength), but that doesn't really matter if Dorgu continues to be very bad in possession.

I'm by no means writing Dorgu off. I have seen far too many signings improve after settling in. His 1 on 1 defending just really worries me at the moment.

I think Amass looks a bit more likely to keep his eye on the ball in those situations right now and obviously gives a bit more technically.

Neither of them has had near enough time in the team to say anything definitive but just based on the eye test I'd be happy with him getting a lot of minutes.

I'm cautiously optimistic on Dorgu, simply based on the physicality he offers to our often so sluggish team. But absolutely, he needs to improve his on the ball work and one-on-one defending if he's going to hold the spot down long term.

Very fair summary I reckon. It'll be interesting to see how the battle for that spot goes as Amass hopefully establishes himself.

Hopefully Amorim won't show the same ETH stubbornness when it comes to 'his own' signings.

I bet the younger lads were proper motivated in training after Thursday's game - seeing Amass get a route into the first team and be part of that experience must be great for all of them.

Not convinced!

Not convinced!

Yeah he's done. Looked really overweight too.
Oh I listed those in rough order of preference for me. He'd be 3rd/4th choice if still here in my mind, which I'd rather he wasn't. Ideally he'd have been gone a long time ago but hey, United needed someone to take the mantle from Phil and he stepped up.

Fair play.

Anyway, in the grand scheme of our squad I think that group of LWB's is absolutely not an issue.

I think Shaw goes in the summer but if he does stay I think Amorim see's him as LCB.

Diego Leon is still young and I'd expect he'll need quite a while to get used to English football. Dalot I hope we don't see at LWB again except for emergencies

Dropping 25-30m on Dorgu when we have this guy doesn't make sense.

Looks easily our best left wingback. Calm, comfortable, good feet, can find a nice pass and put in a good cross and he made lots of good contributions defensively too. He won 3 headers which you might not expect, 2 tackles and 3 clearances and he put in 3 crossses, 1 key pass

Thought it was his best showing so far by some distance - in both attack and defense.
Grew into the game, you could see him taking on more and more responsibility.

Like him! Defo one to keep next season and play.

This is my first time watching this kid in a United shirt and I can almost say that I'm impressed. Lacks physicality, but that might change in a couple of years.

Oh hello there. Is this a natural Shaw replacement! Looked comfortable in duels, loved a tackle. Evaded pressure with his low centre of gravity and ball control. Did not shirk or drop any physical battles and outmuscled Cunha a couple times.

Brilliant brilliant game from young Amass.

Big fan of Amass. A player you can be confident in because his technical level is very reliable. Great feet in tight spaces allows him to to wriggle out of the press. Technically very good again today. Put in some nice crosses. My only concern as far as wing-back back is concerned is that Amass is a natural fullback. Long term, Amorim may want more in terms of ball carrying ability and beating your man on the dribble. Amass is capable of it, but we haven't seen much of it yet in the few minutes he's had. Always a reliable outlet on the overlap though.
