Yoro would get into a challenge higher at least due to his height - he would at least made striker work for it more. Generally he is not in the same areal league as Maguire that is true.

One thing is to outjump, other is to at least properly challenge him to make it harder for him.

But he had three players around him, with De Ligt also down injured?

In 22/23 Diomande played as a wide CB. He won 1,33 aerials per 90 min. In 23/24 he played a bit of both and had an average of 2,0 won per game. This season, he only play CCB and have an average of 2,9 won per game. Taking him from the 16th percentile to the 87th.
I guess it would be best seeing the actual % of aerial duels competed for won rather than seeing flat figures. All more so for wide CBs in a back three

Fredricson has got into aerial duels at 3x the rate Yoro does. Yoro wouldn’t have done shit.

Expecting an academy player to be perfect in their first appearances while big money signings shit the bed week in week out is again, laughable.

This. All of our more experienced and expensive signings have look suspect at times during this season. Yoro looked out of his depth at the start but he got a pass because we paid a lot of money for him.

week in week out? are you serious? assume you claim he continues to "shit the bed" in recent games?

After a promising debut, Amass has regressed. Looks devoid of confidence going forward and lost at seas when defending.

Loan is the best option...let us see what Diego Leon can offer when he arrives in the summer, along with a (hopefully) more consistent Dorgu.

Got into position to cross a few times and it just never came was always backwards/side ways. Especially annoying when we saw how they scored.

Strength-wise far away from being ready, not even as squad player. He just look like a small kid there. And doesn't have other attributes to make up for it also.

But at least we know now.

He's a player who should be learning his trade on loan in League 1 or 2. Defenders learn by playing every week, and ultimately you should only be doing that at Utd if you're an exceptional talent. He's essentially playing because of circumstances, but is yet nowhere near ready for this level.

Probably needs to be taken out of the firing line now. Had some impressive moments in his first two or three appearances, but he's struggled quite a lot in the last few and he looks like he knows it.

There is promise there for the future, but a loan next season looks like the way to go.

Needs a loan to toughen him up. Send him to one of the physical championship sides, he'll learn more there.

A loan would be beneficial. This was always the challenge for him. The speed and strength of the PL are a big test.

Still, not the only one to blame, the rest of the seniors were not much better.

It’s the biggest downside of playing youth too quickly. He was much more confident in his first 2 games - now he’s afraid to put in a cross.

Hope he puts his head up and improves the next time he plays.

Looked very poor today, but so did everyone else. These are the problems of playing with such a low talent squad. It'll end up affecting the confidence of the younger lads.

Again no idea why so many are desperate to fast track an 18 year old full back into the first team.

Loan loan loan.

Tyler Blackett career trajectory.

He's been put in our team for a few games but in 2 years time nobody will remember him or know where team he's playing at.

Same. People in here were asking for him to feature a year ago.

Obsession with youth has to stop. We need players in their prime.

The lad shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.

Maybe he's realised that it doesn't matter if he does put crosses in as no one ever gets on the end of them. Today towards the end of the game we put crosses in and the only one even remotely interested was Maguire.

He's not the only one, but he waits for the pass before making the run when he needs to make the run to force the pass.

He's not ready yet, poor defensively and offensively at this level. Get him on loan.

Clearly not ready. We need to stop fast tracking so many youth players as it's not the time to be throwing them in.

He's at least 1 year away from being ready for this level, probably even 2 or 3. He's a boy trying to compete with grown men and it really shows. I'm not sure if a loan to the Championship is the best option for next season either, it might be a level to high for him right now. He defintely has talent but until he developes physically he won't be able to compete in the PL he's nowhere near that talented.

It'll be really good experience for him. Its not a case of shoving him in in a reckless way. He has talent and he's been competing better physically, and it's something that can really fasttrack a player. I think it'll serve him well for next year where again he'll be a bit part player, but get more useful minutes and continue to progress.

Six months younger than Miles Lewis Skelly, but looks a good 2 years behind him developmentally. Think, like a lot of our players, he just lacks the physical attributes for the PL right now, and is not technically proficient enough to mitigate that

His lack of physicality is exemplified by the fact he’s having to play as a wingback and not a traditional fullback. No winger in front of him to do simple over or underlaps with.

Keep him in the deep end...only 2 league games left. The experience will give him plenty to think about over the summer.

No harm in him struggling now...also he has to play anyway with so few options currently fit at FB.

Loan loan loan.
Agreed. This is why it's so ridiculous when people say things like 'play Amass over Dalot, he can't be any worse'. Well yes he actually can, and you also create the parallel problem of potentially destroying a youngster's confidence.

Not convinced by that. He was afraid to cross. He looked short of confidence and his body language was telling a story of a broken player. This is not good for development. It’s not a stable platform to learn in.

Agree with this - one thing you can NOT do as a young player, is look like you are afraid. And Amass was afraid yesterday.....so many good crossing opportunities - and he gave the ball to someone else.....and what happens on the other side with Kudos....? He just hammers the ball in - that's what you should have done Harry, and you didn't.

He needs to go on loan - to get that confidence

The guy just needs to be loaned out to a decent Championship or Div 1 side.
Get some experience under his belt playing in a competitive league.

Looks like he's stepping up a season too soon, but needs must I guess. A loan next season would probably suit all parties.

Had another tough game and hopefully he can learn from it. I was expecting to see some quality on the ball as other posters alluded to that being his strength, however he hasn't been able to show this in the first team yet. Would benefit from a loan next season to the Championship, similar to Alvaro Fernandez.

The step up to first team football is huge, especially in the Premier League.
