As an Englishman, glad we didn't, United would have destroyed him and wouldn't have been the player he is today under Jose or Van Gaal.
Spurs could of ruined him. Villas Boas wouldn’t play him even when he was ‘on fire’ in training and refused to be loaned. Who know what turn his career could have took if Tim Sherwood didn’t get to manage there for a while.

His game over the past year has developed so much and he's been bringing the performances to the big games too. Proved me wrong after that first season for sure, where I thought he was just decent in a purple patch. Quite the purple patch though.

But it was Pochettino who developed him, not tactical Timmy.

I believe it is getting the break just as much. Who knows what would have happened if Sherwood didn’t give him his break.
Don't get me wrong, he was important on that 1, but if Pochettino didn't arrived later to Spurs his development wouldn't be the same, beside that, Sherwood sometimes says correct things but is a bit populist on his analysis.

Wasnt Kane tearing it up in the Europa league or something? Given Soldado was pretty crap and Adebayor looked half assed in 90% of his games he played. Never really looked back once given a chance.

But he is right. It was Sherwood who gave him real chances, I think with AVB he was only getting sporadic chances, but he exploded with Pochettino imo.

I'm sold, Madrid should pay whatever it takes in the summer. If Tottenham miss out on top 4 I think it will happen, if Chelsea miss out I think they'll go for Hazard instead.

200 hundred million euros maybe are not enough at current prices, Florentino isn't anymore the master...

It depends if Kane asks to leave or not. If they miss out on top 4 I think he'll do it, a player like him has to be playing in the Champions League every year. Eriksen only has a contract until 2020 too so he might not stay long either.

If Kane continues to improve at the rate he's shown over the last 4 months AND he keeps scoring in the CL (becoming one of the players of the tournament) AND he does well to great at the World Cup, £200m won't be enough.

If the above happens, his age, in particular, and the potential for more growth, is going to make him the most coveted player on the planet alongside, or above, Neymar.

The sheer amount of goals he is scoring is one thing, but looking like a world class player without scoring is something else entirely. He's legitimately a forward a team can expect to carry them and enable others. Players like that are gold dust and rightly go for more than specialists with a niche do.

Whats he at now 7 goals in 6 games in the CL? Which includes playing against teams like Real Madrid, Dortmund and Juventus?

Assuming he leaves Spurs this is going to be like missing out on Shearer or Batistuta isn't it? A striker that just seems perfect for us in every way .

Let's do Lukaku +75 million for Kane.
I would genuinely double that to 150m + Lukaku and be absolutely delighted.

I remember saying I would pay 50m for him after his first season as a starter, just based on the fact the types of goals he was scoring was due to fantastic technique, and that wouldn't suddenly disappear, and I was mocked. And I think Spurs might have taken it if Kane was open to it, it was a lot of money at the time for a mainly unproven player.

Although I also would have paid 50m for Wilshire around that time, and he's played about 10 games since then haha.

Top 5 footballer in the world this season so far are probably:

1. Messi
2. Neymar
3. De Bruyne
4. Kane
5. Salah

Ronaldo still has chance if he repeat his last season form and somehow singlehandedly win the CL again. But other than that I don’t see any changes on the top 5 list.

Mbappe really isn't far behind, he's having a phenomenal season himself. 15 goals 14 assists in 31. He's terrorising teams.

Also, Aguero really doesn't get enough credit. Not sure what more he's supposed to do this season to get the hype Kane is getting.

Absolutely true. This has been the most impressive part of his development this season for me.

Yup, biggest improvement for me too. Last night was another proof of that, he was running them ragged with his ball carrying skills. Honestly Kane deserves all the credit and praise he's getting, the only true world class player England has at the moment.

Its a shame about his diving antics. He tried one yesterday. Nevertheless he is doing well when it comes to finishing his chances off.

You mean when the Juve defender stepped on his ankle?

He has 33 goals from 34 games now. He'll be honing in on Clive Allen's record of 49 goals in one season. If we get knocked out of the FA cup by Rochdale and this round of the CL by Juve, he would still have 13 games to try to get those 17 goals.

I'd go for £150m + Lukaku or a straight £210m offer. He's worth it. Don't think they'd ever sell to us and tbh He'd be mad to join us in the current situation we find ourselves in. If he was to stay at Spurs, and they keep hold of Poch and keep adding new signings, they could easily win a title in next two to three years. Holding on to Poch is key, or getting in a really high calibre replacement.

Wasn't a dive for me, yes he went down easily but there was contact there. Two minutes later Kane didn't touch Chiellini at all, Chiellini went down and got the foul. Strikers often have a disadvantage in the box because of the reluctancy of some referees to give penalties even when it's blatantly obvious. Firmino didn't dive last weekend either imo when he got pulled by his shoulder - whether it was enough to give a penalty is up for discussion and he certainly made the most of it, but there was contact. Same happened yesterday, and I don't blame Kane for trying to win a penalty there.

Agreed. I’ve been annoyed for quite some time over some of our attackers who doesn’t seem to want to go down even when it’s obvious they’re being stopped illegally.

I mean, since the refs seem to need players to fall over to give pens then that’s what they should do when fouled.

He's at 9 goals in 9 Champions League appearances.
That's a solid start to be fair.

Some people may believe that Aguero isn't as rated by or essential to Pep for some reason and also the claim that he plays for a great team lessens his achievements. Fact is when Aguero scores, his teams usually win the league. This is also the 4th season in a row he has broken 20 goals. Further back in the Kane and Aguero threads, there are posters who state that Kane does not beat an on form Aguero so its mixed. He should be mentioned as the best 9 in the world alongside Kane, not Kane alongside Messi etc and everyone else behind.

We could offer spurs a very competitive package of benzema and varane and €100m for him. They should absolutely take it, it'd be a fantastic deal. Maybe we cam throw in alderweireld too, heard he might be leaving due to contract issues anyways

Equals his goal tally from last season in all comps. 35. Not even March yet, and he didn't start scoring until September. Lethal.

Is he on track to break any goalscoring records? The premier league record surely, but he looks on track for a 50 goal season - has anyone done that in English football?
