Go back to the start of the window, if you were offered the choice of either Enzo-Anderson-Bouaddi or Tielemans-Santos-Baleba, who would you choose?

Basically have City rebuilt their midfield better than Utd have?

This cannot be a serious question... either this is ragebait or WUM attempt.

Clearly City's midfield is better on paper. No guarantee it will work out but at this point with only the players' past records and talent to go by, you'd have to be crazy not to choose City's midfield.
 
Our midfield signings are pretty decent this summer, really. It's elsewhere on the pitch - LB, striker - where we've shown that we have absolutely no plan whatsoever.
 
Obviously they have the better three. As they should given the amount they spent. Why even ask the question?

Obviously Anderson, Bouaddi and Fernandez.

Then there was M. Fernandes, Sangare and Chema Andres. We signed none of those 3 who would have been very good for us.

This was a shocking window. It can be argued whether Baleba is an overall improvement over Casemiro.

INEOS have to be forced to go. This window was shocking.

2/10 window. Average signings and no sales.

There were far too many good available signings, and some very affordable in Sangare and Andres. Those two plus M. Fernandes would have been an actual good midfield overhaul.

We also should have signed a left back. Carrick now has to start Dorgu at left back the majority of games. I don't want to see Shaw still be first choice.

I know you’ve been set on Fernandes for a while but have you wanted Andres and Sangare all summer too?
 
And where do we find this magic tree?

Plus would they all even come to us?
 
This is all immaterial because we have Kobbie Mainoo and they don't :cool:
 
The fruit at M&S is generally better then the reduced fruit at Aldi.

True they spray it with weird chemicals and shit to make it it look juicer/more appetising... And every now and then you still get a strawberry that rots way too early and you think "I'm paying like 40p per strawb here" ... But erm... Sorry what was the question?
 
Anderson is class. Enzo feels a bit too much like an energizer bunny to me and close in profile to Anderson and thoroughly unlikeable.

No one heard of Bouaddi until after the world cup so I'd find it funny if anyone is putting a lot of weight on him.
 
I’m just gonna wait two years and compare our midfield with City’s newer midfield. Funded by selling their old midfield for a substantial profit, and a little bit of under the counter dealings.
 
Actually think it's much closer than a lot of people think.

Think Baleba 24/25 is comparable to Anderson 25/26. A lot on here would have happily had the club spend 120m on him 12 months.

Similarly I think Andre Santos season in France was comparable to Bouaddis who in truth I hadn't heard much about until 2 standout games in the world cup.

Recent form is in the favour of the 2 City lads hence their obscene cost but Baleba and Santos are very young and have huge potential, delighted that we have both.

I'll accept Fernandes is probably better than Tielemans but I've personally never been much of a fan of Enzo. There was a time that Chelseas win record was way better without him than with, and although the gap I believe has closed I think he left with that record still being the case.
 
Yes their rebuild of 3 100m+ players are going to look better on paper than 2 younger guys and Tielemans with his release clause. Doesn't mean it'll click.

They've overpaid given the quality and what they've paid. I'm also not convinced about how this midfield synchs with the rest of their team. Transfer values have no meaning nowadays.

Is it conclusive now that in 5 years that their trio would have performed better than ours? Not yet
 
There are a number of posters who are essentially just spamming this board with the same opinion worded in a hundred different ways. We get it. You don't think we've had a good window. Now bore off until you have something new to say.

Sangare, Andrés, Welbeck, Salinas, Maeda are examples of those cheap no non-sense buys that Man Utd keep refusing to make

our transfer department, no matter under Glazers or INEOs, has been too inflexible

I don’t know, it’s an incredibly difficult call between three £100m+ players with their best years ahead of them, and a 29-year-old Tielemans, Chelsea’s backup and an injured Baleba coming off a terrible season.

Honestly, this one is impossible to call. I’ll probably go with the three £100m+ players, but it’s extremely close. You should make a poll though.
 
What a comparison. I understand comparing them three years from now if City's trio flop but on paper, this isn't even remotely close. Bouaddi looks a special talent, Anderson was our first choice and Enzo is a WC winning CM / Chelsea vic vice-captain and starter. We've signed Chelsea's backup, a 29 year old Tielsman who has never reached a big club before this and Baleba who came off a poor season.
 
Well Enzo-Caicedo used to keep Santos on the bench while Baleba used to struggle against the competition coming from Milner. Tielemans might make it in that first team though.
 
Difference being that if City's midfield doesn't work out then they'll just rebuild it again for another 325mil.

Bouaddi “looks a special talent” could have been applied to Baleba just 14 months ago @amolbhatia50k, and that whilst plying his trade in the Prem.
Neither is a top sure fire deal.

Anderson, good player, I think Tielemens is equal.

So it’s Enzo v Mainoo for me, before we even start considering Santos.
 
I'm so glad the transfer window is shut so we can move away from the whinging about it.

Transfer windows are tough to judge 12 months later, never mind the day after they close with a lot of the players not even having played a game. Everyone was over the moon with the Ronaldo, Sancho & Varane window, but with hindsight it was one of our most damaging.

Let the lads play and attempt to win some games and look back in time to judge how we got on.
