We would definitely be very fecked if Ronaldo is out for weeks.

Who are we gonna play up top, Rashford? Martial?
If ETH can get the best from either of them, they’d work well enough as a backup striker provided a fully functioning, progressive, attacking and possession based team was functioning behind them.

Other option would be a false 9 which ETH is apparently skilled at deploying, so potentially Bruno. And I think Garnacho will do bigger things than people maybe expect this year.

United have gone all of June without signing or selling anyone

I’d love to know a stat for that. Can’t imagine it’s happened very often for any PL team

Only in Moyes season (Ed's first season) we did this. Murtough is doing best to copy his teacher

As Champions you can understand it. If you only add quality to a squad like that. I think they were hoping for Bale or Fabregas

Doing it when we’ve just lost 5-7 players and desperate for quality is a bit weird. Hopefully early July is like a bomb. Surely if Eriksen is coming that’ll become clear tomorrow

Last time we did that was 2010. That's significant in its own right. Arguably the year we have to do the most work and yet nothing done so far either buying or selling.

There are so many sell options that barely need to be debated as well....
Chong, Jones, Periera, Telles, Wan Bisaka, Bailly Henderson, Williams, Tuanzebe, Martial

That's a pretty no brainer 10 that are all well worth listening to offers for. I think McTominay and Fred should be added to that as well. Maybe Dalot? Definitely Rashford? Maguire.

Thats 15 players of varying qualities who either give us cash to upgrade or to resolve other problems. From all those and all we've managed is to loosely agree in principle a loan for Henderson.

I mean seriously some of these deals should have been lined up for months, triggered as soon as the window opened.

Man, Murtough is a slow fecker. Spurs signed two players from PL and both transfers were finished in a week. We can't even finish easy transfer like Malacia without delaying it.

It's amusing that rather than deal with reality there's new excuse after new excuse across the forums right now. Worse when the mods partake in it too. Transition to RAWKs positive thoughts only policy continues.

What's the reality?
We wont sign anyone?

God forbid having some positivity. Kill it with fire!

So you expected us to sell 10-15 players and then what, buy 10 new ones?
Also the part about options that barely need to be debated is a bit strange. Saying something is not to be debated in a forum.

Don’t worry reality will soon hit once the season gets going.

It’s Ok. June might’ve been dry but July is about to get all kinds of juicy.

Who said you're not allowed positivity? You seem to be projecting, what's happening is that no negatives are allowed to be discussed when there's obviously things to be positive about and things that we should be concerned about.

Yet apparently we have to be a safe space where we only share our positive spin on events because some can't handle actual discussion.

We've a lot of business to do and we haven't done any, it's a valid concern simple as that.

That positivity word is really becoming overused here. Positivity and reality are two different things.
But yeah, it is easier to explain everything with positivity.
Rashford will score 25 goals this year and we will win 2 trophies. Look at me; i am positive.

Edit: i do think that we will win 2 trophies this year :wenger:

10 hours in, the done deal is on the rocks, the free agent still won't sign and the #1 target is flying further and further away from Manchester

(I'm being facetious of course, but I do not think this month will be as Champagne worthy as we hope. I'd be surprised if we get anyone through the door now before we fly to Thailand etc)

Expected something more than 0 in, 0 out tbh.

I’m being somewhat reserved in my thoughts and trying to at least give the club the time to get them in and ready to fly out with the team on 8th July. I’m not buying into everyone’s excuses after this point though as that will be a poor showing however way you try to spin it.

League starts 5 weeks tomorrow and I have very little faith that this same team minus the players left, will start well. We need better players in, up to speed and ready to go as it cannot be understated how shite we were last season. One early negative result and these lot will shit themselves.

So 1 in, 1 out will be ok?

The point is that we currently have 0 in and 0 out, off the back of an utterly horrible season. It's concerning that we still haven't got any deals over the line, but there is at least time to do that. The fact we can't seem to shift any of the deadwood is just plain irritating.

Also, every deal we try to do has to be some kind of saga.

Is Telles in the Brazil squad? If yes you would think it is in his best interests to play football if he wants to go to the World Cup.

I'm saying we have a pool of players that most would agree are unlikely to be good enough for us...hence little debate, whether that be with Ten Hag, the Board or us as fans.

Can we sell all of them....why not if we had a competent board. We wouldn't even need 10 new players. Most of those can go and simply be replaced by the next batch of youth coming through who are arguably better.

If we sold Rashford, Fred, McTominay, Maguire then of course proper squad players/ starters need to be replaced. But if you sold all 15 and brought 5 much better players we are likely to be far better off.

Our squad is bloated with average players. We don't sell because of a false sense of value. The Board fail to realise that the sale values often have to be much lower to account for the salaries we have given out.

Wrong. Mods are not driving a positive only spin. But we are stepping in when a poster is repeating the same stuff repeatedly and/or in multiple threads. Whilst several posters have been removed, they were first given chance to take stock and some chose not too. Some of those posters have a pattern that stretches years.

several weeks ago I was the only person asking people to calm down, things would happen in due course. Now there is a growing band of people seeing the reality of things taking time sometimes.

we have ALWAYS said that constructive feedback is fine. The ones we aren’t fine with are those projecting their negative rants repeatedly based on nothing but their expectations that the squad will be totally sold and a whole new squad brought in, within June. That’s unrealistic nonsense and yet that’s how many of those posts read

This is what will happen -

Monday - we’ll announce de Jong
Tuesday - we’ll announce Malacia
Wednesday - no announcements
Thursday - we’ll announce Eriksen
Friday - we’ll be after either Martinez or Antony with a view to sign them next week.
