Henderson reportedly stormed out of training after being told he wasn't playing against Villa

On Point 1 you are so far wrong it's not even funny. Those players were playing playing the same in front of him. Him being in goal almost halved the goals conceded per game. DDG comes back and it shoots straight back up to 1.5. Not all of that is to with Shaw and Maguire.
The 2 points aren't mutually exclusive. last season Dave was crap. That context applies specifically to the goals conceded stat with Hendo vs Dave you keep bringing up.

On Point 2, his shot stopping has improved and he's made some good saves. Everything else about him is as bang average as ever and has cost many goals.
I don't disagree. And Henderson is slightly better at commanding his box (same garbage distribution as Dave), while being half the shot stopper. I know which one I prefer, as do the 3 managers that have been in charge this season.

Your answer is now that Henderson looked better because Shaw and Maguire were playing better. Even though DDG had a worse record with the same players.

He played 26 last season and played better than DDG. If fact the whole team did better without DDG.
Its still a small sample size that means nothing. DDG has been chosen as no 1 by both Ole (despite his and his mates bias towards Hendo) and Rangnick. After a dip in form he returned to his old ways of bailing us out game after game

We’ve been doing it quite a lot post Fergie by the looks of things. From Rooney on. Most of our players end up moving down and won’t accept lower wages on offer at smaller clubs when they could just sit their deal out with us and depreciate/move on a free. It’s our fault for gross mis or over valuation of our players and also for signing the wrong players in the first place
Rooney was a legend and he deserved all the help he could get to end his career at his childhood club. Henderson is a frigging reserve keeper who might have got too cocky. I'd say he can either choose to sort himself out of this pickle or risk spending the time of his long contract either on the bench or training with kids.

Sell him and buy a cheaper back up.

It surely isn't that difficult to get a number 2 goalkeeper.

To be fair that’s why these guys are paying agents. They’ll tell them to ask for a move and then sit for 6 months and I’ll get you a loan with the Utd paying almost your full wage or a transfer with Utd playing the excess wages for the duration of the initial contract. Otherwise just sit and suck it up until the club flinch and agree to it. the power has completely shifted over to the players and agents and having owners as clueless as ours just makes it way easier for them.

Posting videos of himself and other halfwits in the team on Snapchat, screaming at the top of his lungs as the team bus pulls into Upton Park sticks out. There’s also the time he posted videos of him and his mates humping pillows in a hotel bedroom. Ole publicly bollocked him thereafter for being a twat.

You seem to be very defensive of Lingard. I’m not sure why; he’s a waste of space and will be out by his ear in the near future.

This thread is about Henderson who, in fairness, has a lot more going for him.
None of that is unprofessional for a footballer. He's not broken any rules. You just don't like his personality. That's far different.

Yeah, it's pretty funny though. You have some average players (at least compared to what ambitions the club should have) and they have ego problems, and we also have some good players who get paid (and act) like they're superstars. I wonder who are the best players pound for pound with view to their contracts and what we paid for them.

Or to ask it another way, is there any player in the squad who genuinely merits his contract (and where applicable, the fee paid)?
This season very few probably only DeGea, Varane. Not sure maybe Ronaldo too he's been good in a struggling team.

Because his attitude clearly sucks. Thinks he is something he’s not.
If his attitude sucks then why didn't we sell him to Chelsea 2 years ago or let him go somehwere? Clearly the trigger of his attitude was only recently which is not being used in FA Cup.

Same reason we didnt sell Lingard only to not use him, spend a year on his wages then let him leave for free. We're ran by idiots.

There was a report Mata turned down a new contract because hes getting no game time and wants to leave. Thats how idiotic this club is. Lets hope this was under Woodwards reign and not Arnold, as we are screwed big time, if so.

It sounds petulant and a little bit embarrassing, but frankly, why haven't we let him leave then? He clearly doesn't want to be No. 2, and we're clearly sticking with De Gea as No. 1. How did the club think this situation was ever going to be anything other than toxic?

We could have sold Lingard and Henderson for probably a combined 40-50m in the summer. Throw DVB and Martial in there, and that's probably close to 80-100m for two midfielders who can actually contribute.

Instead we'll keep those 4, along with Mata and Matic, and get literally close to zero value for the money we're spending to keep these guys.

I just don't understand this club in the slightest. I can imagine Woodward, Ole and co saying that we need a large squad with all these players to "fight on all fronts" like Manchester United should be doing, or some BS rhetoric like that.

No, build an actual competent starting 11 capable of winning matches. How about we start there? Typical United sentimental shit of trying to run before we can walk. We have a giant squad, but a relegation level starting midfield, and players not good enough apparently stinking up the place. It's absolute nonsense, we're a circus.

Why is United the only club where we have a back up keeper who wants to be number 1 and such a huge drama about this?

You never hear this at Liverpool, City , Chelsea or even Arsenal. Arsenal and Chelsea are the best examples of where toxicity should exists but it doesn’t. At Chelsea their £70m number 1 became backup to a new number 1… at Arsenal their German number one became backup to a player who was signed that many assumed would be back up but he became number 1. But there’s no debate no talk of it in the press, no news of players “storming out”

Now at United we have a goalkeeper who for around 10 years has been the best in the world, he’s had a dip but recovered, why is Henderson even a debate and why does Henderson even think he’s entitled.

That is what i want from an ambitious lad. United through and through. Big mistake. But again, not surprised, we are where we are for a reason.
«United through and through», yeah that doesn’t matter for shit does it. Ederson and Allison are not City or Scouse through and through. Henderson is pretty shit and does not belong at this level, sell him to a Championship-club and let him out of his unhappy 100k-a-week nightmare.

How is he Championship level when he was rated one of the better keepers in the Premier League when he played for Sheffield United?
