I honestly don't blame him too much for that because he was playing the game by the rules the ref had already established in the game.

It was soft as feck.
9/10 times that’s not a pen.

Bizarrely the ref seemed intent on levelling something up, when he lest done than in denying the Amad pen which was much clearer than this one.

I'm worried about our defense without him for 3 games. Hope we can cope but Yoro and Heaven do not have the experience needed.

It was soft, but it was also a needless and silly decision from him to make so much contact.

A shame as he'd been playing very well of late.

You can put a gorilla in an Armani suit. It will still be a gorilla only in an Armani suit.

Maguire will always be Maguire, always prone to most idiotic of decisions.

Lack of pace is a killer
Yeah he basically has to be perfect at all times, because he has absolutely no recovery pace to make up for the slightest positional error. It's why if we ever want to play a high line we can't really persist with him as a starting option.

He's been very good this season but if we wanna take that next step, I feel he's just a bit too clumsy and has these lapses too often.

Unless Martinez and de Ligt recover miraculously, Heaven coming in against Leeds will interesting. Maguire and Yoro's ball progression and passing has been so bad; that's further compounded with Shaw just doing nothing of note on the ball.

Silly decision. Better let him have the chance and if he scores you still can turn the game around.

Although he’s bounced back this season I think Maguire’s a player in spiralling decline. The danger is he’ll be a massive liability if we extend his contract this summer. Let him go.

He tried to grab or push Evanilson, but the Bournemouth player immediately rolled himself into Harry and made sure he went down.
Classic sucker punch.

Bigger problem is him missing next 3 games, especially as one is Chelsea away. CL football is far from secured.

Isn't direct red card worth of 3 game ban? Or it depends on how serious was the foul?
Yeah, it depends. It’s a professional foul, so it’s a 1-game miss, just as it is with a second yellow. Violent fouls are usually 3 games (or more, depending on how violent it is but it’s a rarely implemented).

Realistically he comes with drawbacks and they aren't exposed nearly as often as his good side is. Take the rough with the smooth

Pushing a player thats gone past you in the box. That will be a foul everytime. Not sure whats to disagree about in that one. For me its typical maguire. My opinion is the guy is a liability. He always seems to have that in him as he it to slow. Poor positioning. Either man mark or get in-between to eliminate pass. He doesnt play if de ligt and Martinez are around, but alas here we are. Recruitment has been so poor for years. Not Man United quality. Doesn't belong anywhere near our squad.

Thank you.

If I see one more person say he's out for three games...

Yeah it's a mistake from him

Should have trusted the GK. Instead he compounds the initial error.

Would put Shaw as LCB, and Maz as LB, if Martinez is not fit. Starting Sesko will help with set pieces.

I'm ok with another +1 year on reduced wages. He'll be needed with all the extra games next season and half of our CBs made of cornflakes. He's largely available which is massively underestimated when building title challenging teams.

That's my fear that will bite us next year, Martinez and De ligt can't stay healthy.

He'll have a good game soon and everyone will come on here to praise how class he is even though history tells us how slow and cumbersome he is will inevitably cost us a few games down the line. Even in the form of his life he's managed to give away two dumb penalties in recent weeks.

As a defender, that’s kinda an instinct move. One mistake shouldn’t define the rest of his game, which was i thought was really assured.
