I hope as human beings we have a decency about us to remember and reflect on this tragic event.

It's a real tragedy that cowards feel the need to sing songs and make fun of tragic events such as this, the Bradford disaster and Munich to somehow justify their support for their team.

Justice for the 96, I hope those guilty on the day will not get away with it.

It was a tragedy, R.I.P.

I for one would welcome the return of a non-seater stand, you cannot expect a repeat of such a tragedy, what with the technology available these days. I look back at pictures of what the terraces used to be like, and wish I could be a part them. What with all the banners, flags etc. Its what supporting your team is all about.

I know, I was just watching Jimmy McGovern's Hillsborough documentary so thought this was as good a time as any to start this thread.

For anybody who doesn't quite yet grasp the tragedy then I really do recommend it.

Not a good idea starting this thread here, some idiot will be here soon enough to ruin it.

What "justice" is aimed for in "Justice for the 96"? I accept entirely that it was a tragic event but I really don't understand how these people can get Justice.

You would have to be one sad and bitter person to mock such a tragedy, in things like this football takes a back seat and we should honour the dead.

I thought the minutes silence was fantastic with Liverpool/Blackburn. Much like United/City last season. Its good that the majority of people have the decency to actually respect those that lost their lives.

And I do agree about the one area being standing room if it can be controlled.

The minutes silence was immaculately observed. It was an absolutely awful and tragic thing that happened. RIP to everyone who did not survive.

The thing that struck me reading the list of those who lost their lives is just how young most of those were :(

Trouble is when people lose their lives you want it to be in an ultimately unavoidable way, an accident where maybe there was no other outcome

I still get very upset and angry when I think about this terrible day. It could have been stopped in so many different ways.........but somehow being human beings we often manage to find the one way that destroys everyfking thing

Tragic

Tragic, but avoidable.

I still reckon the dead have not had the justice they deserve.

all these years later its still fresh in the mind. I remember looking at the tv pictures gobsmacked and frightened. and looking at the papers for days afterwards in a state of shock. it truly was a terrible and horrific thing to happen to ordinary football fans. which we all are. it angers me that the families of these victims are still seeking answers and peace. I can only imagine how liverpool fans feel. RIP the victims and support to the still suffering families

I remember seeing all the scarves including those from other clubs, proving that we can put aside rivalries which after all, mean nothing in comparison to such an awful tragedy. Rather that we only had the rivalry though if it takes something like that to bring us together. :(

RIP to all who died and thoughts to all their families.

For those in the UK, a documentary on this is on the history channel on Wednesday at 8. I know it clashes with our match, so sky+ it, it looks very informative for those who are unsure what happened.

Awful,my thoughts go to the mums & dads of all those young people, their
lives must have been shattered, and they must feel the pain every day - to
have sons and/or daughters taken away as spectators of a cup semi-final
would have been unimaginable at the time.....so I really feel for them, I
don't know how they'll get through the day, or every day, but I wish them
well......

at least Lord Justice Taylor did a decent job in his report - a shame those gutless officials in charge of the match who made fatal errors have never had the gumption even to at least say "sorry" R I P

Ye gotta agree there, would love to see the safe standing thing inrtdocued over here. things its basically each row has a protective barrier on it to stop crushes/falling and you are actually assigned a seat number but with no seat, so everyone has a place to stand, controls amount of people there and each row has the barrier.

Hillsbourgh was a horrible tradegy, i can't imagine how anyone involved must have felt, either the people who witnessed deaths, the dead themselves as it was probably a horrible death and obviously the family and friends of the dead and injured.

RIP THE 96
