Actually Moyes isn't a bad shout. Do you think if we kept benching him he would want to leave? Certainly his public comments suggest that he thinks he is elite so perhaps he would want to move and play?
Eventually he will certainly want to leave. Its a matter of time before he loses his place in the England side, and I genuinely think even if Martinez or Varane got injured that Maguire wouldn't be picked by ETH. Maguire may think he could move to another top side, but the longer he's out of favour the sooner he will realise its better for him to drop down a level and out of the limelight. He's become a national figure of ridicule.

I wrote on here months ago that United will progress when Maguire is dropped and certain people laughed at me .
Maguire on current form and I mean a years form actually is in the top 5 worst CBs in the PL.
He's an absolute liability for any team he plays in and as a Irish man I'm looking forward to having the same laugh during the World Cup as every non United fan has when he plays for United ...

If Varane or Martinez get injured and he comes in we will fall of a cliff again . He has to be sent on loan ,sold or whatever United can do with him.

Was the penalty his only mistake of the game? Didn't watch the game
He did another mistake which lead to Germany's second goal. He was high up in the opponent half and tried keeping the ball too long, thought he could do a Foden and jink his out of trouble but fell over like a tree while dispossessed and they broke away and scored.

Think he's worth 30-40m still given his experience and ability. Maybe a team that plays a back 3 and has a pacey fullback covering his side he would fit very well.

Not having to pay his salary would be benefit enough. A transfer fee would be a massive bonus.

Need to get rid asap. He’s been a disaster for too long…longer than too long. Whatever money we can get for him, let’s take it.

A bag of haribo will do.

I'm not sure what he's supposed to be good at, why did so many rate him.
I do think his confidence has collapsed so any of his strengths are basically gone right now. He was beaten in the air for Italys goal iirc.

Get rid of him and sign Timber in the summer.
If we can get enough money from the Maguire transfer to mostly find the Timber one, we'd make our money back, as Timber would go up in value.

That is, if we weren't run by the clowns we are run by

Watched his error that led to the penalty for Germany. That was the type of unforced errors that he has been giving away. I'm not sure what happened to him as this is definitely not what a top world class player should be doing every now and then. Maybe a break for him would be good. He is probably a good fit for a low block team but inadequate for modern top teams. Martinez is completely opposite and we won't expect him to commit such errors on regular basis. Even if he did that, there is a high chance he can still defend and make it difficult for the attacker and not gift an easy penalty to them. Now I trust Lindelof as backup more than him given our current options.

It doesn't work like that mate. The older he gets, the slower he gets, and the more his contract runs down, the less he's worth until he's available for free.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I was a critic of his from the start, said he was a terrible signing at the time and I didn't know what Ole was thinking. I've been vocal about it on here. I tend not to comment much now though as, since more and more people started to turn on him, I feel a bit uneasy about the stick he gets.

This is probably the first time I've ever felt this about a player but I feel like it's going too far and I just worry about where it will take him. Anybody else feel the same? I really don't rate him but I feel as though the abuse is almost at a bullying stage with him now.

In terms of his performances, I think the above is already taking effect. Like I said I don't rate him for us, but he's somehow got considerably worse and I'm willing to bet it's because of the stick he's getting.

I also feel very sorry for him. But this is a risk that comes with being a celebrity.

He‘s big and physical, and usually good on the ball. I suppose he was bought for those attributes. In his current form he should not play in the NT and not start for United.

He is big but is he physical? Maguire barely uses his size to his advantage, he has little aggression.

When first Mourinho wanted him then Ole, I thought he would be a good signing. Then when we were told his value was £80 mill and that would make him the dearest defender in the world, I thought the glazers would rightly this time pull out of the deal. How wrong was I!
The fact hes a limited footballer, doesnt seem to bother him. The fact he blames all and sundry for his mistakes and takes no blame at all, makes him more disliked. I hope Ten Hag and DeGea have a word with him, about the comments that have come out.
The captaincy should be stripped from him at least and hopefully we can get a buyer for him in the summer.

Yes, it's noticeable. But he seems to be the kind of player who constantly needs criticism from the outside. That's how he moves forward. However, it also looks like too much criticism makes him a less good player. Although, maybe he doesn't care and is just playing his time?

This is how I feel.

There is people who dance every time he makes a mistake whilst I’m more the type that wants to shake hands and help him leave the club.

Fair summary. Lot of the stick he gets unfortunately also comes from being the most expensive transfer for a center back, over which he had no control.

If he wasn’t making stupid amounts of money every week, whilst shifting blame elsewhere I’d be with you. But he lost my sympathy a long time ago.

He doesn’t deserve to play at the level he gets to play at. My sympathy lies with those he has been playing ahead of all this time, who haven’t been given an opportunity.

Here is what i hope, with a tail wind, England do well at world cup getting to later stages at least with a competent Maguire playing. Bids of around 25 million are posted in Winter transfer window and we move him on. This is what I hope but reality is we are looking at a Jones situation and total loss of all value.

Like feck. He's worth far more.
Who to? Of course I hope we get a decent fee for Maguire but I dont think any top Prem side will pay be interested in paying a lot of money for him and he wont want to go to a smaller club, so I think we'll have to accept what we're offered, but the likely outcome is that hes allowed to run his contract down and leave on a "free"

Without a doubt he was a pretty effective cb for Leicester, England and us for a while. The modern game has left him found wanting. Ever since that holiday incident and injury he has not been the same. He could probably do with getting out of the limelight so the Hate Harry Bandwagon can move on and find another victim. He is sadly a diminished player but Fred West probably didn't attract this sort of hatred being directed at him. Usual keyboard warriors piling on to the bandwagon, they cannot wait for him to make a mistake. Time to let him go, go find another victim

People are using the excuse of Maguire blaming the others for themselves being dickheads.

He wasn’t blaming excuses earlier and people were still hating on him every chance they get.
