How will United lineup next season?

Lammens
Dalot
Dorgu
Maguire
Heaven
Mainoo
Amad
Tielemans
Sesko
Bruno
Cunha

Darlow
Maz
Shaw
Yoro
Santos
Mbuemo
Mount
Rashford
Zirkzee

Should be enough for a top 4 finish and CL knockouts

Lammens
Munoz De Ligt Yoro Robinson
Tielemans Sangare
Fernandes
Mbuemo Sesko Cunha

Bench
Darlow
Dalot
Maguire
Martinez
Heaven
Shaw
Santos
Mainoo
Amad
Thompson
Schick

I think we need atleast 3 new starting 11 signings in this window. And atleast one for the bench which is an experienced striker. I'd go for someone like Patrick Schick.

For the starting lineup the priority should be CDM and LB. For CDM I'd get Mamadou Sangare or Chema Andres who would both add value and be good for the Premier League. They're the kind of players someone else would sign and then we'd want them for 4x the price.

Luke Shaws needed replacing at left back even before his leg break, so even if Dorgu is going to be first choice left back then I'd like us to sign one more left back, as it looks like the Diego Leon experiment didn't work.

Only then could I be optimistic about our season with increased matches and competitions. If the starting lineup gets better, the bench will get better as a result. The bench I've listed above is good enough for the Premier League and Champions League, even if the starting lineup might not win us either competition.

The Cafe is all over the place with our opinions on this squad. I can't see how we've hurt ourselves massively. Casemiro is a gigantic loss for every reason including locker room presence and performance. That gap needs to be filled and Tielmens is likley a good effort at that.

After a few weeks to get the WC players rested, I'd say the first team looks like this:

———————— Lammens ————————
Dalot —— Maguire —Martinez—Shaw
————— Tielemens — Mainoo —————
———————— Fernandes ————————
Mbeumo ———— Sesko ————— Cunha

Second team that will add depth and frankly 4 of these guys vying for first team permenance (Heaven, Yoro, Amad and Dorgu):

———————— Darlow ————————
Mazraoui—— Heaven — Yoro ——Dorgu
————— Santos — Mount —————
———————— Cunha ————————
Amad ———— Mbeumo ————— Rashford (iffy)

If I'm honest, i hope the team listed below develop into the core of our future. Young(ish)talent everywhere except Dalot and Tielmens, this squad could play beautiful and successful football if they continue developing.
————————— Lammens —————————
Dalot —— Yoro —— Heaven —— Dorgu
————— Tielmens ——— Mainoo —————
—————————Amad —————————
Cunha ———— Sesko ————— Mbeumo

I'm hopeful for the Yoro/Heaven partnership to become our back line anchors for the next decade though I am still very high on Martinez and Maguire and hope we have enough games to both develop the youth and keep these 2 in good form. I'd actually perfer to see Martinez at the 6 (i know, i know, spare me the flames).

Just a note, i think we should invert our wingers more often to get better crosses in for Sesko and Fernandes following atop the box. I don't think it's coincidence that our wingers were mostly cut in and shoot style while our strikers have struggled to put up good numbers over the last 5 years. Can't have Anthony, Amad, Mbuemo etc on the RW and still offer proper service to a striker. Cunha, Rashford, Martial, etc on the left wing all looking to be the scorer and rarely putting in good crosses/service. We need to mix it up more often.

I'm a homer and optimist. The talent listed below is all confirmed in the club (so i'm not projecting the Camivinga swoop or the Cole Palmer hijack) and i do think this team is a top 2 team under Carrick. I love the style we're playing and I love the spirit we have.

As of now, I expect our opening day lineup to be:

.........................Sesko............................
...............................................................
Cunha...............Bruno............Mbeumo
...............................................................
.............Tielemans.....Mainoo...............
...............................................................
Shaw.........Heaven......Yoro...........Maz
..............................................................
.......................Lammens.......................

In theory, another midfield signing might find his way into this lineup...I'm guessing Baleba.

Also in theory, Licha and de Ligt would eventually be the starting CB pair, but I'd wager that they won't play more than 5 matches together this season.

No Maguire starting?

Currently id say this is our best lineup, taking into account expected fitness levels:

Lammens
Dalot Maguire Martinez Shaw
Tielemans DM
Amad Bruno LW
Sesko

The DM is a fight between Santos and Mainoo, the LW between Rashford and Cunha, maybe Dorgu for some games for balance. Mainoo is a better talent than Santos, but stylistically depends how he fits next to Tielemans who is our best midfielder IMO. Rashford for me is a better footballer than Cunha at his best, but we don't know which Rashford we're getting.

Center backs for me are a mess currently. Is de ligt even worth considering? Yoro and Heaven are fine as depth options, but we can't trust the starting pair to stay fit when we had just 40 games all season, let alone playing close to 60.

Lots of work to be done in the transfer window if we even want to stay in the top 5 (currently id say we're behind all of Arsenal, city, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs based on team quality and the squads ability to handle the upcoming schedule). I'd honestly switch priorities away from the midfield at this point for any big spends and focus on CB. That area needs a full revamp.

Surprised to see everyone starting Mbeumo ahead of Amad (although sadly not surprised to see United fans still can't spell his name right). Both will get plenty of games and either could make the position theirs, but on matchday 1 given free choice I'd be starting Amad.
On the merit of? Mbeumo scored many more and created a lot too. Amad is doing well but Mbeumo has earned his spot.

With the squad we have now I wouldn't be confident of selecting any combination of players that would get us top four, with a decent showing in Europe and the cups.

We need another midfielder as a priority, and then we need to decide what we are doing with Rashford and Dorgu before deciding on which of the other numerous holes in our squad to prioritise.

No back up striker
No reliable left centre back with any experience
No right back worth starting

Santos and Dorgu over Mainoo and Shaw and we might have some mobility. Not sure if Yoro and Heaven get in ahead of Martinez and De Ligt if they're fit too.

Tielemans and Mainoo dont seem enough in a double pivot. Need more physical presence.

Realistically.

Lemmens, and Bruno play every minute they're fit, especially in the league.

Tielemens, Mainoo, Santos and a new signing or youth player in the midfield 2

Mount to slot in at 7/8/10/11 when needed, has a chance to displace someone.

Mbuemo/Amad as the two main right wingers

Cunha/Dorgu on the left, with Dorgo also sharing LB duty so Mount might see himself out on the left quite a bit.

Sesko first choice 9, would expect a signing here, unless Zirzkee stays, Mbuemo and Cunha able to deputise, again making Mount an important squad player

Shaw starts as much as possible, and new signing possible, Maz can easily switch, Dalot an option too.

Centre half is a mystery. 5 decent options, just about staying fit. Maguire will most likely get the most minutes, as his availability and leadership are second to none.

Dalot and Maz to fight it out. Dalot more often available.

Lemmens
Dalot/maz
Yoro/heaven/de ligt
Maguire/licha
Shaw/dorgu
Tielemens/?
Mainoo / Santos
Mbuemo/Amad
Bruno/Mount
Cunha/Lacey
Sesko/Zirzkee

Sesko / Cunha

Cunha / Dorgu -------------- Bruno / Tielemans ------------ Mbuemo / Amad

Mainoo / Santos ------------ Tielemans / Mount

Shaw / Amass ---------------- Maguire / Heaven ------------- Yoro / TBD ------------- Mazraoui / Dalot

Lammens / Darlow

3rd tier/injuries: Bayindir, Rashford, Martinez, De Ligt, Lacey, Zirkzee, Ugarte, Heaton

It feels like none of Tielemans, Mainoo and Santos are nailed on starter for 2 midfield positions. 3rd midfielder needs to be a non-negotiable starter.

Lammens
Dalot Maguire Martinez Shaw
Tielemans Tchu
Palmer Bruno Cunha
Sesko

After gazing into my crystal ball, I see that Utd have cashed in on Fernandes and we are lining up with a midfield of three "8:s". Three out of Alex Scott, Mainoo, Tielemans, Santos and Berge depending on the opposition.

Should really be considering a diamond. Mbeumo and Cunha are not wingers (the former can't even dribble), Amad and Rashford suck and Lacey needs time. I think Carrick gets sacked along the way for not being able to figure it out.
Also, the backline will probably be exposed in the UCL.

Lammens/Darlow
new attacking RB/Dalot/Maz - Maguire/Yoro/de Ligt - Martinez/Heaven/Shaw - new attacking LB/Dorgu/(Maz)
new #6/Santos
Tielemans/Mount - Mainoo/new back up (or best u21 kid until Jan.)
Fernandes/Lacey
Sesko/Mbeumo - Cunha/Watkins

Loan: Vitek (EPL), Amass
Sell: Amad, Rashford, Zirkzee

I think we'll see plenty of rotation throughout the season, but I think this will be our starting xi against Hull:

Lammens
Yoro Maguire Heaven Shaw
Tielemans Santos
Amad Bruno Cunha
Mbeumo
