6.5

Getting Champions league football from where United was in January deserve above average rating. Disappointing to lose all 3 semi finals but it was the first time to reach 3 semi finals in one season for 11 years.

A number of players have improved and some seemed certain to be sold before this season. The Bruno signing finally and getting rid of Sanchez was the type of good transfer business that must continue into this window.

I'd say a 6 out of 10. We finished as high as we possibly could do as there was no way we were finishing above the top 2. So being best of the rest is decent. Nothing to celebrate but still fine.

Reaching 3 semi finals without without getting to a single final will always leave a sour taste for fans but this year was about getting back in the CL. Now we must stay in it and look to build. If we build well then trophies will follow.

6/10 is a fair assessment. We did enough that most people are content but I don't think anyone believes we'll be challenging for the title any time soon.

With the resources and squad we have, CL was essential and that's what we got - we were miles off the league leaders and ok in the cups (albeit disappointing the manner in which we went out versus Chelsea and Seville).
