Under Ole we've suffered quite a few humiliating defeats now - especially at Old Trafford. 6-1 loss to Spurs last year, thrashed 4-2 by Liverpool last season, the 4-2 loss to Leicester last week and the thumping we just got from Liverpool yesterday. If we're not careful, this habit is going to be a difficult habit to reverse. Confidence is a fragile thing in professional sports, and once you've made yourselves the whipping boys of other clubs its hard to reverse that. Arsenal throughout multiple managers and multiple different squads/players have found themselves to be the whipping boys of the top PL clubs for the last 10 years. It's become habitual that Arsenal will receive one big thrashing a season.

We're in the same position at the moment. This habit can transcend multiple squads, managers - and become almost inherent to the club itself. The same way, Manchester United's traditional habit of coming back from a goal(s) down had transcended managers.

Anyone else agree?

Exactly. We've had 2 in a week, and play Spurs next week and City the week after.
Not really getting your point.here?

You say thrashings transcend squads and managers, does this mean it started with Sir Alex??

Really confused.

It has been a regular theme for a while now. How many times have we heard that Utd should have been 4-5 goals down?

Also don't understand bringing SAF's time as a reference point. Comical argument.

5-0 v Newcastle,
5-0 V Chelsea
6-1 V Man City
6-3 V Southampton.
4 -1 V Liverpool
5 -1 V City
4-1 V Spurs

All under Sir Alex.

Maybe these results transcended to Oles squad (or something)

SAF had credentials to justify one-off games like those in his 26 year long tenure. Ole on the other hand having won a grand total of zero trophies and with a tactical nous as good as the granny next door doesn't.

4-0 Everton
4-2 Leicester
6-1 Spurs
5-0 Liverpool
4-2 Liverpool

Could add to the list in the coming weeks.

Hi Did but not in the same season and not so close together in fixtures too. Stop with the comparisons with Sir Alex, what he did at Aberdeen "BOUGHT" him time as well as restructuring the entire club which benefitted from it. It is different times, different circumstances and his face yesterday shows even he knows Ole has to go.

Well, having a manager that has a clue what he's doing is a start to fixing this "problem."

And if you want to bring up thrashings every big team has been dealt a couple in the past decade so I don't see the point in that alone.

I'm not fecking comparing them

The post said these results can 'transcend' squads so am highlighting the fact that these thrashings have happened before and will ergo probably happen again.

Basically I'm highlighting the complete nonsense of the post.

But everyone appears to still be in a rage and desperate to make sure everything is an Ole out v Ole in argument.

Barcelona got thrashed a few times at their peak. Zidane's Madrid got thrashed here and there while winning 3 UCL's on the trot.
You're just being sentimental because it's liverpool and you shouldn't.
You should be sentimental about us playing dogshit football, not being thrashed by obviously a team with two/three levels above us.

There's nothing wrong as long as they are occasional. I remember Arsenal going through a period where they were getting thrashed every couple of months.

The biggest challenge for the next manager's going to be restoring a bit of pride in the club. Big clubs don't get thrashed as regularly as we do

Lack of reaction from this group of players after humiliating defeats is the biggest problem. Teams don't have to work hard to score and beat United now be it Liverpool or Watford.
