If Poch takes over, how does he fix this mess?

Our defense is still weak after spending £130m on it over the summer.

The only midfielder who can pass the ball is injured and doesn’t want to be here.

Our forwards seem unable to play together as a team.

If Poch takes over, is it going to be like starting from scratch once again? But this time from a lower base.

She'd be perfect for this team of Spice Boys.

The answer is very simple no? He will actually coach the players and get them playing into a system. That alone is 80% of the job.

Everything else is out his hands in terms of transfers, personnel, etc.

It's only starting from scratch if you're going to run the club like a cult and the manager as the leader of said cult.

If Pochettino is to take over, it has to be made clear his job is to coach and improve the players at the club. The next manager should have minimal influence into the clubs transfer strategy.

He doesn't. They tread water for another 8 months and say Poch out while Woodward keeps eating boogers sitting at his perch.

Actually, I’d take David Beckham as manager right now.

Coaching. You would be surprised at the difference a quality coach will make to a team.

All the coaching in the world won't improve a lot of our players , they are barely premier league standard never mind Man Utd standard.

Amongst footballing managerial 'Gods'
we have a young squad. Poch is at his best with a team full of energy like ours. To keep it short, he would improve our interplay and attacking philosophy. He would also improve our defense by providing players who are comfortable on the ball in a possession oriented approach.

Considering how he got Spur’s front three to play I would expect he would get them moving off the ball for starters.

Our midfield can only be improved by signing 2 players.

Give him 500mil+ like the top two clubs have given their managers.

Otherwise forget it no matter who is manager.

You know it would really, really, really help if every time during these past few seasons if instead of dropping points every time one of immediate rivals on the table does - that we actually win a game instead of losing it like a good bunch of donkeys who didn't have the advantage of already knowing what those same rivals did. Especially against teams where just a few of our players probably earn more money than the entire opposing team combined.

Really.

You could put Sir Alex back in charge and he wouldn't be winning any titles with this squad, but a better manager could definetly get more out of them than Ole is doing. Tactically the team is an absolute shambles, and basically relying on the front three to just do something magical.

I'd get him in now so he has almost a full season with this group of players and he can then get the opportunity to see who he wants in his plans and who he doesn't want. Then next summer we back him big in the transfer window. I've no doubt he will bring in the right players. There might be 5 or 6 in the current first 11 that will be his long term plans but he'll need time to figure that out. This season is a write off anyway so I would use the remainder of it for him to figure out who he wants and then we'll be in a better position at the start of next season

The defence will look better with a better system. Not amazing, but better. Painfully, we need yet another CB, in a long list of positions we need. Lindelof isn't quite good enough, and the backups are either injured or shite.

Surprised Spurs didn't go for this Poch fella rather than Mourinho. Apparently he brings in good players, coaches them and improves the defence. Everything they were looking for.

He's a better manager than what we have currently so I'd rather bet on him

Who influences the transfer policy then? Glazers and Woodward?

Signs a high quality CM, high quality RW and high quality 10, while nurturing the young talents. Looks for a new gem at LB and perhaps CB when the rest is sorted. Done.

It's not a mess, it's a very decent team being coached by an arsehole. Poch would presumably give us a system of play and coach the players on how to play football.

It would take time. He'd probably like our young players and develop them into proper professionals, but he'd have to be shrewd in the transfer windows to get us back to where we want to be.
It definitely feels more and more like he will eventually be our manager, if he is lets hope he sorts us out.
