Yesterday action was pointless exercise. It may have been just to keep the spirits up because we ( atleast in Karnataka) are going to have a longer lockdown but Indians cant be trusted to follow basic rules. Maybe Modi should refrain from such things going forward atleast till this pandemic is a threat.

Karnataka to go beyond protocol to test tablighi members

https://economictimes.indiatimes.co...ofinterest&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=cppst

This particularly is interesting.

For instance, in Mysuru, four TJ members tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday. According to the district administration, these patients did not attend the Markaz in March, but had a travel history to Delhi in January.

Makes you wonder how widspread the corona cases are. There is limelight on TJ, so these cases were found.

This is getting extremely out of hand. We really need to have proper online harassment law and will to deal with this severely. Social media should be free but there should be strict action against morons who think they can get away by saying whatever they want. Sometimes i feel China handles it far better than most country out there as they simply don't trust their citizen. India (don't now about other country) is definitely showing online freedom is being misused.

I thinkthe best medicine is to just not give these idiots any attention. They don't represent the majority and by giving them the attention we are just encouraging such behavior. There will always be haters and no strict policing can change that.

It's just not the Tabliq but there are idiotic Christian preachers who are doing the same thing in USA. One is claiming he has killed the virus by blowing wind at it. He is leading a congregation while everyone else has been asked to not to congregate. Every religion has their nutters.

And that is why generalizing and mocking any particular religion is stupid. It's the people who are the morons not the country or religion.

I entirely agree with you. It's the morons and not the country or the religion. All religions taken into context are calling for good things. Taken out of context they may be calling for everything horrible under the sun.

It really is funny to see the likes of you cling on to anything that fake news media “reports” sitting in their caves.

Even UP Police is doing a fact check today
Good of UP police to issue that clarification, even before they actually had sufficient time to investigate it.

@ThatsGreat

Anyway, to answer your questions which you edited/deleted.

Obviously, in a secular society, there is space to criticise beliefs. Individuals should be judged on their personal attributes rather than based on the category of colour, creed, caste, religion to which they to belong.

It's not correct to attribute collective responsibility for crimes or wrongdoings on the basis of shared group identity. Muslims are not exceptional in vice or virtue. We are just as human as any other group.
@Sultan But aren't you doing the same thing? Take the above statement. Why is this islamophobic? Its a bland statement of facts, the natural reaction should be to condemn the Tablighi Jamaat members for their ignorance, even if you believe that their intentions were not malicious. And yet, you have another muslim poster who's bent upon painting this as Islamophobia. If you take anger against Tablighi Jamaat as a representative of anger against islam as a religion, then don't blame others who do the same generalization.

You are being either idiotic or biased. How do you know who is a Muslim or a Hindu or a Christian or a Jew or Buddhist or from any other religion here?
Anyone saying 'prophet muhammad(pbuh)' is a muslim. Simple.

The tweet spells it out why it is Islamophobic. The pic in between all those "facts" is unnecessary and adds to the Islamophobia. They could easily have put giant letters TJ in between all those stats. But they choose a face with a skull cap.

Would it be correct to stigmatise the whole of China and blame the Chinese for spreading the Virus? That would be damn xenophobic and bigoted. How has anybody come to such a conclusion 60% of cases are derived from the TJ centre is beyond my reasoning. We live in a global village illness's spread.

However, I suggest you peddle your hate and racism on another platform. We have been lenient with your posts so far in this thread. The above will be your last post on this thread.

That is easy. Pick a city, see when there was TJ related case in that city. Bin all of the cases after that to TJ event.
Advantage is that such logic needn't make sense. Rhetoric would do.

What is this staggered removal of lockdown? Does this mean that states get to decide when to ease up on the lockdown or does that mean Centre directs which state should do what?

Will the PM CARES fund be as well utilized as the Ram Janmabhoomi fund collected by Advani?

Never knew that is how anyone is classified as a Muslim. I am sure most Muslims also would not do so. What about people here who has not said anything about prophets?

Reminds me of one of the uncles on my whatsapp groups who went absolute bonkers about us (a bunch of Hindus, most of them Brahmins) wishing each other Merry Xmas. He thundered with the question "Are we all bloody Christians now? Have you seen any Muslim/Christian wish each other Happy Diwali?"
He proceeded to put in a 5 screen size rant about Christian schools brainwashing us Hindus and converting us.

I have seen people of different religions wishing each other on their religious days. It doesn't make them change their religion. I really don't understand why this fetish about these things. I mean what does it mean by Happy Holidays? Why can't people say merry Christmas or Happy Eid or Happy Diwali or whatever?
I do accept that some Muslims and some Hindus seems to be more fanatic than people from other religions.

Wishing each other on your particular religious occasions depends on your relationships with people of different faiths. I have a habit of sending gifts and greetings to my Christian and Hindu friends and acquaintances.

Feeding people at your home and gifting is the best way to create a loving bond amongst people. It's one of the fundamental teachings of religion.

Raipur AIIMS denies 'spitting, misbehaviour' by Tablighi Jamaat patient

RAIPUR: As fake news of a Tabligh-e-Jamaat youth 'spitting and misbehaving' with doctors and staff went viral in social media, the city-based AIIMS came out with a candid statement denying any such conduct by him.

Even the Raipur MP Sunil Soni claimed that the boy associated with Tabligh-e-Jamaat had created "trouble-making" scenes the moment he entered the hospital.

It was also aired by a regional TV channel. Later, the channel's report was declared as ‘fake’ by the Chhattisgarh state fake news control and special monitoring cell.

“A coronavirus positive minor from Korba district didn’t spit on doctors or any staff of the AIIMS. He is taking medicines and coopearating with the staff as per the given protocol for COVID-19 patients. He is following the rules of isolation ward as prescribed," said the AIIMS statement.

The Raipur MP had termed the behaviour of the boy as “objectionable”. “Following the unacceptable ways of conduct shown by the boy who is a member of Tabligh-e-Jamaat, I have asked the AIIMS Raipur to create a separate ward or section for all Tablighi people arriving here”, Sunil Soni said.

The chairman of the Chhattisgarh Wakf Board Salam Rizvi slammed Soni for his “preconceived” remarks. “It’s very unfortunate that someone in a responsible position of a Lok Sabha member is spreading such fake news when the state and the nation is waging a crucial battle against the COVID-19 outbreak”, Rizvi said.

Bhakts will only believe, if it is on swarajyamarg or opindia. The Lutyens media like Indian express and NDTV are just jealous that the PM is not taking them and their families on world tours like what bloody Congis were doing.

Saharanpur Police refute Amar Ujala report about Tablighi Jamaat members misbehaving with medical staff

The Saharanpur police have put out a statement refuting media reports that members of the Tablighi Jamaat asked for non-vegetarian food and defecated in the open inside a quarantine facility in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur.

The claim appeared on the front page of the national daily Amar Ujala on April 5, 2020. It was also shared on the paper’s official page on Facebook, where it received more than 4,000 likes and shares.

“After Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, a new case of Jamaatis has also come to light in Saharanpur. When they did not get non-vegetarian food, the Jamaatis here threw away the food and defecated in the open,” claimed the Amar Ujala report. The report cited a similar incident that it alleged had happened at a quarantine facility in Bijnor.

The report cites Sub Divisional Magistrate SN Sharma as the source of the information. “SDM SN Sharma, SMI Irfan Ahmed, along with other police officers, arrived at the facility and pacified the Jamaatis. They were told clearly that only food prescribed by the government will be served. If they repeat their behaviour, strict legal action will be taken.”

A local media outlet, News 1 India, picked up the Saharanpur story and shared it on Twitter, adding that it was mutton biryani that members of the Tablighi Jamaat desired.

The Saharanpur police used its official Twitter account to reply to the tweet with a statement that the claims of the media outlets were investigated and found to be “wrong and untrue”.

In the past few days, there have been similar media reports of members of the Tablighi Jamaat allegedly misbehaving with staff at quarantine facilities in Agra, Kanpur and Ghaziabad as well.

The claim was made in a report by Zee News’ Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand vertical on April 6, 2020. It was also tweeted out and shared on Facebook.

“You are spreading false and misleading news when neither a medical team nor any ambulance has been pelted with stones in Firozabad district,” the Firozabad police tweeted from their official handle. “Delete your tweet immediately.” The report was also shared on Zee News’ Facebook page, where it received more than 5,500 likes and 1,400 shares.
