Thought it warranted its own thread. Of course, Trump is involved.
I could see the whole of UEFA revolting, if this is true.

Not even close, the most high profile sure. In third-world countries, systemic corruption ensures that sports funding rarely reaches the athletes or facilities who need it. There was one in which funding marked for para-athletes quietly disappeared into upgrading exclusive sports facilities inside elite residential complexes for government bureaucrats. I am digressing though so please no one reply to the comment. The most corrupt person in any sport currently.
What are they gonna do? Quit FIFA?I could see the whole of UEFA revolting, if this is true.
UEFA and other Confederations need to back a credible person to go head-to-head with him, which isn't looking likely. What are they gonna do? Quit FIFA?
Trump's advisors probably told Infantino he was a fool to try hiding corruption. Rich people own their corruption and convince people this is good for them. They aren’t even hiding their corruption any more
Infantino has Trump's backing. Which means the US will step in with diplomatic pressure to back Infantino. Except European countries, almost rest of the world will comply.UEFA and other Confederations need to back a credible person to go head-to-head with him, which isn't looking likely.
That is one solution. FIFA needs UEFA more than UEFA needs FIFA.What are they gonna do? Quit FIFA?
Diplomatic pressure. Wouldn't put it past Trump to bomb dissenters.Infantino has Trump's backing. Which means the US will step in with diplomatic pressure to back Infantino. Except European countries, almost rest of the world will comply.
Thread theme:
Why is the rage focused on one person? Infantino did not simply open the door and walk in to become FIFA President. He was elected to carry out this agenda by Federations, whose unwavering support has made it impossible to challenge him for the position. He's promoting the ideas that helped him get where he is.
Who needs each other more?UEFA needs to leave FIFA. Anything else won’t achieve anything.
But they obviously won’t.
FIFA needs UEFA more I think. The World Cup is worthless without them. The European equivalent however does not rely on FIFA.Who needs each other more?
If there was some chance of reform, I'd take a European WC wilderness for a few years.FIFA needs UEFA more I think. The World Cup is worthless without them. The European equivalent however does not rely on FIFA.
If South America countries would join UEFA on threatening to leave, that would basically be the end of Infantino and this large-scale corruption. Who would watch a World Cup without UEFA and Conmebol countries? What are they gonna do? Quit FIFA?
Yes I think so too.FIFA needs UEFA more I think. The World Cup is worthless without them. The European equivalent however does not rely on FIFA.
At least we won't have to deal with Argentina in a Euro WCIf there was some chance of reform, I'd take a European WC wilderness for a few years.
