AFC were one of three confederations publishing letters of reprimand after Infantino's attempt of selling the world cup became public, next to UEFA and Concacaf. So I don't think it's surprising at all that they would once again join that group with this letter. Some of their members are definitely closer to Infantino, especially in the Arabian corner of the world, but they don't seem to represent the general line of the AFC.

It's Africa and South America which are as deeply in Infantino's pocket as they can be.
 
I get the feeling that Infantino is just going to be used as a scapegoat for everything people hate about FIFA, and nothing will actually improve once he’s gone. He’s clearly seen as damaged goods by most of the confederations now, but they’re hardly paragons of virtue themselves, and many of these people were perfectly fine with the corruption that gave us the last few world cups. Everyone is just manoeuvring to get their own man into the hot seat so they can benefit from the corruption.

I don’t think that’s true for Čeferin at all.

I want FIFA to feck off forever so hopefully he’ll stay and these three confederations start their own tournament.

If UEFA and others split from FIFA what happens to the billions in cash reserves that FIFA is holding?

Whether anything will improve remains to be seen, but calling Infantino a scapegoat is something I definitely can't agree with. The man is catoonishly corrupt. Whatever fall is coming to him can't be deep enough. At this point, we might as well roll the dice and see what comes out of it.

Yes. In short, there will be another guy at the top, that will endorse the corruption. Need a wholesale change.
 
UEFA should try and do their own thing with as many other countries as possible.

They need to try and ruin FIFA once and for all, start by taking away most of the big football countries.

FIFA can get rid of the bald one but he will just be replaced by someone of similar ilk, nothing will change.

Just do a new, better FIFA without the US and Argentina. That would be nice.

I don’t think you understand what scapegoat means. It doesn’t mean he’s innocent, it means that removing him won’t solve all of FIFA’s problems. Ultimately he’s just a symptom of a much bigger disease. Thinking that it’s just Infantino is falling for the same propaganda that said everything would be fine once Blatter was gone.
 
The tipping point will be if sponsors genuinely think the threat to boycott is serious

It obviously wouldn't solve all of FIFA's problem, but it doesn't make him a scapegoat as he's been one of the most active people in terms of shaping FIFA to what it currently is.
 
The latest joint statement from UEFA/AFC/CONCACAF was excellent. It needed to be made clear that this isn't about trying to reorder the existing structure or sideline smaller country FAs, it's about addressing the multiple unacceptable ways in which Infantino crossed the line, for the good of the sport.
 
As the bottom line says, it’s all about the money with both of them, not exactly the ringing endorsement egg head needed.

FIFA would be making a terrible mistake if, for any reason, they even considered replacing President Gianni Infantino. He is fantastic, having just presided over the most successful World Cup, by four times, ever presented. If he is gone, it will never be as successful or profitable again! Scapegoating implies some form of unfair or excessive blame being place on someone, which I simply don't agree with. No one is saying everything will be solved when Infantino is gone, but whatever is coming to him will be more than deserved. I'm not in favour of any sort of label that diminishes his share of the blame.
