"Rangnick chose not to go into specifics but he could have mentioned: the player who went Awol from training, returned with profuse apologies, then skipped practice again citing a personal crisis; the player briefing against the club captain, Harry Maguire; the player who continually declared himself unfit to play on the eve of games; the player the coach just couldn’t get through to, because he was so withdrawn; and the player who stood on the burning deck declaring that training should just be fun."

Any guesses?

I'm going Lingard, Bailly, Cavani, Rashford and Pogba.

Woodward was uniquely bad at his job and I don't know how he lasted as long as he did. Wait yes I do it's because the Glazers don't give a feck and want to infest the club with their mates and cronies.

I'm sure something positive will come out of this thread. Levying guesses/accusations at players is just the exercise we needed

The Disneyland for adults story is bad but the way these stories describe Woodward's reaction to Solskjaer having a vision for what his squad could look like in 3 years is just as embarrassing. Most people who play Football Manager have a list of players they want to sign in the future windows but the story is that Woodward was completely awestruck by this level of detail. The fact that someone so massively out of their depth was allowed to run things for so long shows how inept the ownership is and how unserious they are about the football side.

Pogba surely? Rangnick was first angry at Dubai thing, then he didn't know if he started training, then he stressed how he doesn't know when he'll be back, etc., so it must be him.

Pretty sure Ralf said this is what Lingard did before the Bretford game, hence he didn't get to make a goodbye appearance at OT.

The player who continually declared himself unfit before games sounds like Cavani

Northcroft is full of shit.
Dont know Northcroft, but in fairness, there's absolutely nothing in the article that hasn't been reliably reported elsewhere.

Actually, I'm not sure what makes it an "Inside" piece at all... It's more of an amalgamation of slightly worrying stories about the club over the past decade.

My guess is that there are difficult characters at every big club and Rangnick did horrendously in dealing with this then went in desperate reputation protection mode, these players would be queuing up to run through brick walls after a month with Ancelotti.

Lingard, Bailly and Cavani are known to be the first 3, the other 2 we're just guessing. No idea who is the one who wants training to just be fun, people saying Pogba i feel like are off base. Pogba just wants the team to be good and challenging, so I wouldn't say he's the guy there.

The players at the club don't seem like they would run through a open door for their kids, nevermind through a wall for a manger.

It's the way he spins everything, he can't even give a decent account of what happened under the tenure of Moyes and the attempts to sign Fabregas and Bale, pinning it on Woodward when Moyes was the root cause.

Sadly, people fall for it

Yeah they are all terrible and have no fighting spirit at all. I mean they managed to get second in the best league in the world (and a European final) under a Norwegian league manager and most have had good careers elsewhere but yeah total no hopers.

As Genius Ralf said, we basically need to replace everyone of them.

They are not total hopeless, if your aim is top 4. But for them to win the league, it can only happen if Chelsea and City have an injury crisis similar to Liverpool in 2021.

Cavani is surprising. He seems to be professional type with a good attitude especially since he has played at a top level for years.

Probably it’s someone from the English clique. Shaw, Henderson, Rashford etc.

Hasn't there been enough of these negative articles already, bored of it now. It's a new era under ETH now, big changes to staff and club structure have been made. Let's look forward and see how it goes.

I find it hard to believe Cavani was declaring himself unfit on the eve of every game.

He was off commuting to South America half the time and with longish term injuries the other half.

Not sure who else it would be though.

So despite all LVGs complaints about the way he was sacked to bring in the toxic one, he had been meeting with Woodward before Moyes was sacked?

Its Martial. Hence Rangnick saying he refused to play in January.
It's likely Cavani. Ralf said he knows his body and decides when he's ready. Also once said Cavani trained then decided he wouldnt play.

The fact this could be a few players should be worrying and they say they see potential in this squad!

Missing out on pep was the killer. We wined and dined him in nyc but he turned us down because of oil money.

nobody wanted to succeed the GOAT because they knew it would be an impossible job.
