Pogba Man of the Match. Perfect Midfielder performance. Attacking Defending. Keeping possession when no one else could!

Brilliant.

Delighted for him.

It was not, as it was previously said Garcia touches the ball and put Mbappé back onside.

The Spanish defender plays the ball after that.
Defender attempted to tackle the ball.
and? do you even know football rules?
it is a crystal clear offside. ROBBED.

and the penalty in the 1st half?

He touches the ball, unintentionally, but he does.

That why I said unlucky
it is not unlucky because it doesn't change the fact that it is a clear offside.

IT IS A BLATANT STEAL

i would like to know who is in the VAR because either he has been paid to ROB the final, or he doesn't know a thing about football.

Happy for Pogba.

The semis and this final have been some really high quality football.

Honestly I don’t care much about this game. Happy for the United players, but would have been the same for De Gea. The Spanish Chelsea full backs are both extremely anoying, so watching them loose is a bonus.

If that's onside, they need to change the rule. Of course you are going to try and clear the ball as you don't know 100% he is offside.

Don't mate, you will find only sadness here. Even if it is blatantly offside.

So basically if the defender stops playing and decides not to play the ball - it's offside. Yet because he tries to block the pass - Mbappe's on.
If we didn't have VAR - the ref would've put the flag up before the defender could've made any attempt and it would've been offside.

Spain is the team that I dislike the most, but they got robbed.

calm down mate
seems more like you're the one who doesn't know "football rules"

If Garcia deliberately touched the ball it's not an offside offense

I think it arguably should be, but by the rules of the game it isn't

I think we have a chance to beat Spain to first (Sweden). Get a 0-0 or 1-1. They are pretty poor in attack really. Insane depth in Spain team, but they lack those world stars that they had when they won Euros and world cup.

Yes, in this case I do know the rules. The defender deliberately played the ball, which meant it was onside. That's how offside works. We've seen countless similar examples over the last few years, Schar against Villa and a Dortmund V Paderborn game from February being two examples I quickly found.

Chill out it's a freaking Nations League, a tier 2 trophy.
It has the same value as the extinct Confederations Cup.

OK so this "intentional touch" thing seems legit... However also in the rules.

A player is offside when they are :
  • challenging an opponent for the ball or
  • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
  • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
I don't see how you can't say Mbappe is doing any of these things. His movement is to compete for the ball, this movement then impacts his opponent, who is playing the ball in the way he is due to Mbappe being offside.
