The 3 strongest team (on paper) are predicted to be:

#3 Sunrisers Hyderabad
#2 Chennai Super Kings
#1 Mumbai Indians

But then everything goes out of the window when the matches start...

.

And hopefully CSK plays game in Chennai instead of Pune due to stupid political dharnas.

Trading away De Kock is going to be a mistake by RCB. He's red hot as of right now.

They are scheduled to. The last time around, it was the scarcity of water that triggered the political drama about IPL. The only way its not going to repeat in an election season is if the rains are good in Karnataka/Bangalore - hopefully on non match days :P

EDIT:
Why don't the posts get auto merged anymore?

I predicted CSK to finish last in the previous edition..boring ass team but the passion of fans is something else.

Backing Mumbai as always, especially with Malinga back! Quinton trade looking like a brilliant bit of business. In god like form atm.

Who did they get in return?
Cash deal with RCB. MI had to release Dhananjaya and the Fizz in order to afford it.

Mind blowing support.

12,000 people turned up to a damn practice game. Dhoni is an absolute god to them.

Takes a brave man to predict Delhi in top4.

We've a great team though. Top5 of Dhawan Shaw Ingram Iyer Pant is excellent.

As usual RCB will depend on Kohli and ABD every game. Hopefully Hetmyer will be a big hit like he showed vs India in ODI series. As usual bowling is poor, no matter which player is signed.

They should ban them forever.

As usual every match will have Kohli chopping and changing the team.

Agreed.
Yeah, management is too afraid to change captain, he changes team so often it's hard to have any momentum. His handling of Washington Sundar was very poor last season.

Who have MI got apart from the usual suspects like Sharma, Bumrah, Pandya brothers, Pollard?
QDK and Ben Cutting are both class acts. Ishan Kishan too.

Did you see the Mumbai documentary on Netflix? Ishan Kishan comes across terribly.

Qdk, Lewis, Rohit, Ishan Kishan, suryakumar, Hardik, krunal, behrendoff, milne/mclenaghan, markande, Bumrah

I think this team is quite good. They'll start Pollard every game till the season is almost over though.

Delhi is class as well:
Dhawan, Shaw, Ingram, Iyer, Pant, Axar, Rabada, Lamichanne, Boult, Avesh Khan/mishra

Would add some Indian batsman at six, don't know any names.

Don't particularly Rabada as a T20 bowler. Morris at six and then you can play Mishra and Khan both.

BTW Rohit has said that he'll open in every match this season. Pollard is pointless 9 matches out 10 but somehow plays every match.

Shocking decision by Star. Feel sorry for any UK IPL fans.. the hardcore ones have to fork out about £12 to subscribe to Hotstar, while the casual fan gets zero exposure.

UK viewership numbers will plummet.

Isn’t Starc supposed to be part of RCB’s roster?

Hoping to see my boy Hetmyer come out blazing

I also have a massive soft spot for Colin Munro for the great work he does for my team in CPL since he’s signed for us.

Am I the only one that hates the overseas limit? I feel as though it's taken from the quality of the tournament, especially bowling units.

Ultimately, the tournament is there to provide a base for young Indian players to build from. The likes of Chahal, Kuldeep and Bumrah may not have found their way into the team if it wasnt for the IPL, Jasprit has been a gem for India.

If Gayle continues his form from earlier this year and KL can find his touch from last season, I reckon Kings XI could make it to the playoffs. Started brilliantly last year but KL couldnt carry his team. Mujeeb and Tye make their bowling quite strong too. The addition of Shami finally gives them a proven Indian bowler which I'm sure they've not really had.

Maybe, I for one like it. Like @Di Maria's angel said, the aim of IPL (with addition to make money) was to provide platform for Indian cricketers. If there was no limit, then so many players wouldn't have played the game at all.

They would have all made it even without such a stringent limit. Even in the first editions there were young Indian players impressing. The problem with it being just 4 players per team is that then there's way too many Indian players per round. I'm not saying a team should be 11 overseas players per team however 4 leads to no hopers playing regularly thus decreasing the excellence thus reducing the world wide fan fare.

Ngidi is out

CSK should sign Jhye Richardson - although a proper fast bowler might complement the mostly medium pace bowlers we have.

Come on Rajasthan!

Sunrisers could go deep again I reckon. Rashid Khan is possibly the most valuable bowler in the tournament and they've got a brilliant batting lineup too.

Absolute joke of a pitch. 10th day pitch of the test match.
