How long is Archer injured for?

Also, Morgan’s been in terrible form with the bat. Good lineup with some destructive hitters in there. Maybe Vince has a chance?
Specialist captain though. It’s valuable. We won the last T20 WC with Sammy in there purely as captain

KKR love a collapse. Seems destined for CSK now. Unless Morgan can suddenly rediscover his best form. Tripathi’s injured as well. Not sure he’ll manage.

As a delhi fan it hurts to not to see delhi in the finals. Would have given csk run for their money. KKR just fluked their way to the finals.

What fluke?
Hardly the best side to play in finals. Credit to them for having a good second half but playing in sharjah helped them big time. If not for Kohli's brainfade by giving christian the bowl when narine was on strike, kkr would have been long gone. Take away their openers their middle order have been doing absolutely nothing. Rarely you will see such instance be repeated where a team with so many non performers reach the finals.

Yep, but tbf to them, the competition all around them were also shite and inconsistent and bottled it when it mattered.

He's out for ages mate. The ECB stupidly put off his surgery and now he's got a major elbow problem.

England still have a good batting lineup but the bowling looks modest without Archer. Wood is possibly the quickest bowler in world cricket but he hasn't got Archer's variations.

Yeah, he’ll be a big miss and pace doesn’t always translate well to T20 cricket. Though Mills looked decent in the 100 and Jordan’s usually a useful T20 cricketer. But yeah, I think stokes is out injured as well? Your batting lineup will need to be your strength and that could leave you potentially in a tricky spot when you’re requested to bat first.

Mental health break isn't it? Stokes is, in my opinion, England's most important player in all formats. Is there any word on if he'll be back for the world cup?

Agree. Stokes is probably least effective in T20 but yeah, we're still a better team with him. We're just going to have to try and blast our way through, don't think the pitches will help us though.

Had no idea about Stokes’ break. Just thought it was a finger injury or something. But yeah, clutch player.

He’d still give you great balance in that middle order and a good option with the ball. Will be a big miss for sure. Oh well, winning the T20 WC is almost a toss up anyway! Should be loads of fun.

Yeah, but I was much more confident with Archer in the team! Guess it depends what kind of pitches we get. If we get the high-scoring pitches we saw in the IPL final, England can blast their way past anyone. But if they're the tumescent pitches we saw for much of the tournament can see us struggling to reach the semis.

Chance for the Ashes, no chance for the World Cup sadly.

Ah. Well the T20 team is still pretty good without him. The test team on the other hand is quite often Root and the clown troupe, so if England can get him back for the Ashes that would be a big, and very necessary, boost.

So the Glazers are apparently bidding for the new IPL team.

Some ITK news. I'm hearing on the grapevine the Glazers have won the Lucknow franchise.

Any idea what the rationale is for paying so much? Chennai was bought at 380 crores for ten years. Are they renewing at these astronomical sums?

Are the tv rights already worth this much? Does it assume some growth based on any changes like a much longer ipl?

wonder what their current revenue is.
I believe current valuation has already jumped 3x from original bids. Delhi sale to JSW valued it around 1100 crores.

Other than TV rights franchises get loads of sponsorships also. Given PE is getting into the action it definitely signals that this more than just a billionaire's toy now. Most are looking at it as a potentially NFL or NBA style league, still in a very young stage so valuations will continue to rocket for some time.

2022 season starting tomorrow, most teams have a nice new look to them. The fact that there are 10 teams now means the quality players are more distributed and there are no teams without glaring weaknesses.

Personally, I feel Gambhir has assembled a really good squad at Lucknow

What do ya'll think?

I think we need a new thread.

Edit- with a poll, so we know which team has more chance of winning or something.

Poor 3rd umpire there.. was made to look like a fool because the director made him review that.
