Is Jadon Sancho really worth the 100 plus million fee?

Well, ideally, this is what you will see if he comes in:
Cavani is not going to play every game.

Cavani
Pogba Bruno Greenwood

Rashford
Pogba Bruno Sancho
Why would you play Rashford up front rather than Greenwood when Cavani is being rested?

And why would Sancho not be the first choice RW?

I cannot see how people think Sancho is an average player.

He is a special talent, the one thing that will be evident for whoever he signs is his technical dribbling. He is one of the best out there, his drop of the shoulder is a joy to watch.

I really hope we sign him.

There is no first choice & second choice there. You can change their position whatever you like and the point is Cavani/Greenwood/Rashford/Sancho rotation.

Because right now Greenwood has shown nothing in his game that suggests he is anywhere near as effective up front as he is from the RW?

Most of them don't watch German football, and when he played for England he hasn't shown his best. Immediately he's labelled overrated, german farmer league etc etc.

Sancho would rip up the prem if he comes here.

I mean watching England in a 5-2-3 formation is not the right place to judge a player.

I don't even care about his goals and highlight reel, its his ability on and off the ball that will set the PL alight.

Has to be at United, we cannot miss out on him, £75m is very reasonable in my opinion.

I'm certain we will get him. All this talk about Liverpool is just planted by BVB to make sure they don't get low balled.

They've already started the "must be done by june 11th" talk. I'm sure as long as they're sensible it'll get settled for around 70-90m.

Ole has already stated his intent to the board, they know they'll need to pull a rabbit out the hat this summer with the momentum we have.

All the noises are just like last season.

For me, I doubt we will go for him unless we ship some of Martial, James, Mata out. We don't have money for the summer to fill gaps in the squad and Ole would be relying on Greenwood and Amad developing nicely next season.

I believe Ole will focus on CB and DM/CM this season.

We'll definitely sign a CB but there's very little noise around a DM and bar Rice who will likely stay at West Ham other DMs will likely cost £40-50m at best. Mata is likely leaving for free and Lingard is on the way out for a good fee so Sancho is still likely all these links aren't going away and it would have happened last summer if BVB weren't greedy. Also Cavani won't play every game and Martial is falling more and more down the pecking order so we'll likely see Mason more as a No9 instead of a RW

That would be a great summer if we get all 3 positions addressed. I am just lowering my expectations.

I understand you I'm also toning down expectations but after all the groundwork we've put in for Sancho since 2019 I'll be genuinely surprised if we let him slip again especially when he's available at a discounted fee and when we still need him despite some suggestions here that we don't.
Plus I don't think we'll spend big in other positions at CB I reckon we'll sign someone young with potential to challenge Bailly/Lindelof rather than the likes of Kounde/Torres(unless Varane becomes available but IMO he'll extend) and at DM we'll look to do a smart gamble instead of going for Rice who we'll 100% be priced out of

Can't spell Mkhitaryan
Well, ideally, the two options below what you will see as regular line up week in week out if he comes in:
Cavani is not going to play every game.

Cavani
Pogba Bruno Greenwood

Rashford
Pogba Bruno Sancho

Cavani
Rashford Bruno Sancho
Pogba (new dmc)

I see it more like this as our strongest side with Mason coming in for Cav when needed

Just Sancho & Rice would be a good summer. Add a cb then even better, we would be "almost there".

We all love United
Sancho, DM, CB

In that order

I was really encouraged by Tuanzebe’s performance yesterday so CB is the lowest priority for me

Mata is clearly on his way out and he wasn't an option this year so i don't think that impacts Sancho plus neither james or martial play on the right. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 of those 3 sold.

Sancho is young, english and from manchester so he's the perfect choice to add this summer.

Ole knows he needs to strengthen the squad while also trimming off guys that aren't reliable options.

I don't see Pogba playing as a DCM next to someone because he's poor in build up play out of the back.

I was wondering if I could get any insight from anyone who watches Sancho play in the Bundesliga.

I've heard pundits like Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand talk about how he can create a lot of chances for the likes of Cavani with his crossing and others with his link up play. However, with a transfer fee of £80 million being reported and his goal scoring stats as well, I would certainly expect him to offer a lot more to the team than just crosses and link up play. Will he bring a lot more to the team than this and what are his strongest attributes to you? Also, do you think he would be a success in the Premier League?

He earns 190k a week at Dortmund? Blimey. And the BDL on here were crying at fans who were bringing up reports about them paying more than we offered for Bellingham.

If we don’t sign a new attacker this summer we don’t stand a chance of winning the league next season. We need at least one more top quality attacking option.

What I meant is that there might be no Ins without Outs. We need to trim the squad for wages and other expenses before signing players on massive fees and wages.

I mean you could also reserve judgement rather than describing him as an average player and deciding what he's worth based on the limited bit you've seen of him. You're not being forced into having an opinion.
I'm not being forced, but I do have an opinion.
His performances for England haven't exactly set the world on fire, have they?

Going into the season: "Board didn't back Ole", " Look at City quality attacking depth", "Rashford is overplayed", " Pray God Bruno stays fit".

After season: " Where Greenwood gonna play?"

Prepare your underwear, Jadon saga is back.

Thing is, it's a number for the campaign (that's the way I see it) and Martial isn't going to be our 9 next year unless Cavani gets injured. You can argue Greenwood has made a case to be central just as much as Martial would when fit.
By this logic, players would be changing numbers every season, Phil Jones would’ve long been stripped of the number 4, Mata wouldn’t have the number 8, Bailly would lose his number etc. Stripping players of their number just causes grief unnecessarily.

People who don't watch dortmund or ignore his accomplishments at his age. The guy has performed at a world class level for 3 years in a row, predominantly from the right wing, and is a creative playmaking winger, exactly what we need to compliment the overload of shooters we have in our attack. He just turned 21 ffs. Been the dream signing for United for years now, really hope we don't feck it up. I would be happy with signing just him this summer and ignoring everything else, it would make a world of difference to us.

But yeah...how can we possibly have Sancho, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford and a 34 yr old Cavani...this place is barmy.
Funny isn’t it, people moan about our lack of depth but then worry about players getting a little sad at rotation.

Last summer showed him up. Hes click whoring at this stage
Just because a transfer doesn't happen doesn't mean that we weren't interested or we didn't have discussions with the player. It's not that hard to "agree personal terms". Most times a team won't publicly go for a player if the player doesn't want to actually go there. Hence there would have been discussions in advance to see if personal terms are agreeable before dealing with the club over what price is fair.
Romano very clearly has sources, sure sometimes I'm sure he regurgitates info from other sources, but it doesn't make it not true. Every source can have different info because one might be getting it from the player or agent, who could each be giving different info, and another can get it from the buying club and the other from the selling club and both could be saying very different things.

And they want a proper title challenge but want to do it with no depth or without having a complete 11 and gift wrapping some starting 11 positions for youth players to develop into... City have Aguero/Jesus/Mahrez/Sterling/Foden/Bernardo Silva/Ferran Torres to use in their front 3. Bernardo Silva can play in the midfield 3, but generally they all play in the attack. We have Cavani/Rashford/Greenwood/Martial and then Pogba who started playing on the left with Bruno playing as the #10. None of them play naturally on the right, maybe Greenwood even though I think he's naturally a striker and will be the striker post Cavani, but he's not a top quality right winger. There will be plenty of rotation and games and combinations that using Cavani/Rashford/Martial/Greenwood and Sancho won't be an issue at all, and in fact will probably elevate everyone's game. The person who would suffer the most from it would be James, who likely won't be needed at all.

idk... I'm nervous these tweets saying Amad was BVB's option if they sold Sancho. It's almost like we're briefing so when we don't buy Sancho it's because we have the next big wing threat. Ugh

The only thing that worries me about sancho is if he is truly a RW amid some saying he plays better on the left

I‘ll admit I haven’t watched him enough to know Which he is best at, but for the figures quoted we need a specialist RW.

In this day and age thats usually a left footer who cuts inside like Salah
