Players don't spend 16 hours a day on football and 8 hours sleeping. They have a lot of spare time. Putting some of that spare time into a clothing line instead of playing computer games, drinking, hiring escorts, surfing the web, etc isn't exactly the worst thing. I highly doubt it's anything to do with the money, it's just a bit of fun he has on the side.
You can be sure he put feck all-time into his clothes line other than money to fund it.
Hes hardly Alan Sugars next apprentice.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

That's probably true for a lot of players who have this kind of thing (like Zlatan for example, and likely Pogba), but Lingard seems interested enough in it I reckon he's being a little more hands-on. It still won't be much of course, but a bit more than most players do.

It's good for Lingard that he gets the chance for first team football at West Ham. I think he'll be good for them. I find it embarrassing that so many fans from United have treated him so badly. Lingard is a true Unitedfan and has been since childhood. I have no doubt he wants the club. I will especially remember him for the important goals at Wimbley. It's not Lingard's fault if his talent is not quite good enough for the first team at United. You can not blame him for that.

Whoever he goes to, there should be a clause stating he must play when we play them. It'll probably be his best game for us .

He should have left 18 months ago really, he's been effectively stuck in limbo. He's been replaced by better players in his position, and no club has come in for him.

I hope he can go to West Ham, play for 6 months and re-discover his form. When he was in form, he was an adequate squad player, but he was never going to be an elite clubs number 10,

I think Southampton, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace would be more suitable move for him than West Ham. Either way, whichever team, wish him good luck.

Signing Lingard is such a West Ham move. I can't imagine a more fitting club to end up signing him than them. It just fits with their MO.

He isn’t going to start West Ham is he? He’s not starting ahead of Bowen on the right nor is he a better number 10 than Lanzini. Effectively, he’ll be going there as utility cover. He’ll get more games than he will for us but I’m not convinced it will be enough to put him in the shop window.

If I were the club, I’d be looking to persuade him to join a bottom half team, where he should start most matches and give himself a chance to find some form. Somewhere like WBA might be a good option.

Yes, you can. The talent IS there to be a decent squad member, the dedication and application isnt.

I wish him well. I remember being there when he scored 2 vs Burnley to bring us level in Zlatans last game. Sadly that was his last real meaningful contribution.

And Brighton, I agree. Hopefully, some of them will sign him permanently after a good loan spell at West Ham.

United have done him a disservice by not letting him leave earlier unless of course he wanted to drag it on for this long. He seems like a decent squad player and if his personal circumstances were different he could have perhaps made a decent contribution. I genuinely feel sorry for him.

Was listening to Radio 5 live last night. "Lingard is still young learning his game' He needs to move away to resurrect himself and show everyone what a good player he is. No mention of the fact that he is not good enough and contributes nothing in terms of goals or assists when he plays.

Pat Nevin also mentioned that Moyes should have been given more time at Utd as his performance at West Ham has justified that. Anyone else been listening to this garbage?

Lanzini doesn't start nowadays. Fornals plays almost every game as an inside left and he is the most ineffective of the front line. I don't rate Lingard but I actually think he has a good chance to start over Fornals. With West Ham in their best form this could be as good a fit he'll find to restart his career.

It was said by Jermain Defoe then Michael Brown corrected him and said he's 28. Strange discussion from the panel they gave off the opinion that Lingard is a very good player
“I was two footing him ten years ago and even then he was 25.”

Can people relent on sticking the boot in on Lingard? Seriously, its done with, the lads off. Weird to still see people being annoyed at people being positive about him.

I know. Frankly I'm pleased to see him get a move like this and hopefully it restarts his career for him.

It looks good until Ed demands silly money, and offers a longer contract in order to play hard ball...

We had been there... :nervous:

Wtf are “manyou“ (thanks for the censorship) thinking gifting Jessi Messi to the good old ‘Ammers, eh?

Didnt they learn from Welbeck? Arse laughing their Bollox off after Welbz scored on his debut.

seen more value in Phil Jones and that Welsh winger who plays golf

Just saw his goals, a couple of nice strikes if aided by some shit keeping. I hope he can regain some form, he was always a likeable young lad.

I dont mind Lingard - hope he does well - and we might get £20 million for him if we sell him in the summer - win-win
