All those other forwards aren't heading to AFCON this month and aren't over 30. There's nothing wrong with planning for life without Salah.

Yeah, even if he's been bad this season, it does look like they're making a bit of an example out of Salah.

Still unprofessional and very detrimental to the club to go and moan publicly like that. But I'm not complaining one bit.

Well he’s been benched and they’re still not winning games so it’s obviously bigger than just Salah. Also where’s the same energy for VVD he’s been just as bad but I don’t see Slot benching him.

Any reasonable Liverpool fan (there are a few) can't side with the player over this.

They're already in a rubbish period and pulling a stunt like this only serves to pressurise and undermine the manager. And make anyone starting instead of Salah mistrust him too.

Having been used to this sort of nonsense at United this last decade - brilliant to see it's elsewhere for once!

Well in his eyes he still is a top player. I think most Liverpool fans asking for him to be dropped meant that he should be rotated just like other attackers. I don't know a single Liverpool fan who can justify having 3 games in a week and not starting him in any. That's just madness. Gakpo & Wirtz have done nothing either and played all 3 games. Slot was absolutely within his rights to drop him but to not start him at all after him being a regular starter for 6+ years was never going to end well. It's absolutely pathetic man management

One of the big reason most players reach the really top level is because of arrogance and self belief. Do you think Bruno will take it quietly if suddenly he was benched for 3 games in a week after starting every game
 
Liverpool want to cash in and so does he. Both parties should quickly get what they want from this.

The beauty of this is that it's all kicking off now. Slot will either get sacked or if he keeps his job then the atmosphere in the dressing room is going to be pretty awful

Slot doesn't have options in central defense. Konate should be benched way before Van Dijk, but their other options are injured.

And they did actually win the first game, where he benched Salah (West Ham). He then got 45 minutes vs. Sunderland, where he did absolutely nothing and so was benched again. Against Leeds today it was hardly the offense that cost them the win.
 
This has happened before after he did interviews to try and force a new contract. Then gets one and does nothing on the pitch.

He's checked out and is making sure he gets paid yet again.

They'll struggle to get any fee at all from a real football club due to his massive wages and age. He's their Rashford.

I agree with salah here, the team didnt need two number 9's they needed to keep Nunez, salah clearly needs a nunez/haveertz forward type player in the team with him, otherwise its always going to affect his offensive game and he's right he has been thrown under the bus.
 
Don't really care about the price. Liverpool spent 450 million this summer,they do have the money now anyways. It's always fun to see chaos like this at Liverpool though

Who knows what those weirdos will do. They gave TAA both barrels for having the audacity to leave quietly but I bet they don't come for Salah with as much gusto despite his behaviour being 100 times worse.

His most likely destination is of course Saudi. It's not really that relevant whether it'd be hard to sell him if that weren't the case.

Saudi must have Liverpool over a barrel. The player wants out and no other club is going to take him on at 400k a week.

Hopefully the fee will be more like £30-40m.

This is it. Surely someone with such a big ego to think he should be starting for a huge club in a big league won't accept a move to a Saudi level league, even with the huge wad.

You might be right. Despite Alexander-Arnold going quietly, it didn't sit right with them because he still had several of his best years ahead of him. Whereas everyone (except maybe the man himself) knows Salah's legs have gone, so Liverpool fans likely won't feel as outraged about him engineering a move.
 
This just shows how little loyalty clubs have when it comes to players. You have a player in Salah who has been Liverpool's best player over the last 7 or 8 years, breaking all sorts of records along the way. He was absolutely brilliant last season and all of a sudden, he's scapegoated because he's not at the level he was at before. Now, I'd understand if they had someone who was performing incredibly well in his position but there's not. Actually, they're poor with and without him. That why I can't blame players when they leave for a better/different opportunity.
 
Saudi will buy him in January. Since he wants out & they want to get rid, hopefully it’s not a silly fee.
 
We give a stick to managers but it is really not easy to them. When they bench a big name it always causes problems to them. Because players are huge prima donnas these days.
 
Interesting he says he was promised a lot of things in the Summer that Liverpool clearly haven't kept to, in the same week that the Leverkusen chairman came out and said exactly the same thing about Wirtz.

Absolute downward spiral of a club - fantastisch!
