I find it a bit weird you're defending the likes of Salah who doesn't even think he needs to earn his place. It's no surprise he's not starting given his performances this season and the fact that the team are scoring more goals and haven't lost since he's been dropped.
We also don't know how he reacted to being left out of the starting lineup the first time. If he threw his toys out of the pram that could also be why he's continued to be left out.

I don't care about Salah. I am really happy with this mess. It's madness because he scored 29 goals last season and 18 assists and has played virtually every game for the last few years and to go from that to suddenly not start 3 games in a row is terrible man management of a player like this. They have played West ham,Sunderland and Leeds in that time and won just 1 out of 3. From Sarah's point of view by continuing to give starts to every other attacker while benching him it's basically singling him out for the mess. Again terrible man management

The issue is the change is being made to protect Wirtz and the 2 other 100m signings at the expense of a guy who has proven he can do it repeatedly.

It's been clear to me all season that Salah's finished. I was surprised he did so well last year because I thought he was finished at this level by the end of the previous season.
He's offering nothing to the team. He's been a problem all season and is a net negative when he's on the pitch. He was as a starter for far too long and being dropped for a few games in this scenario is normal. The player either sorts themselves out and comes back motivated or they don't come back at all.
There's no room for sentimentality and what he did last year isn't relevant if the suspicion is that he's in terminal decline.
He could have accepted a bit part role like every aging footballer has to. However, he's taken the public boo hoo poor me, I've been scapegoated route and claims he's entitled to a position in the starting line up on reputation alone. That attitude is never going to fly as no player is bigger than the club and managers just can't allow it and hope to maintain their position.
He's just looking for a way out now if you ask me and will be hoping not to be back after AFCON.
