Is this window the one that brings us back to our identity?

Our real identity is signing big, world class players, well it was our identity before the Glazers. Rio, Rooney, Veron, RVN cost loads. With the exception of Veron who failed, the rest were world class and won us trophies. These players installed fear in rivals. Whilst AWB and Maguire are decent players, decent signings, we’ve also signed Dan James to an attack that needs big reinforcements, is he going to install fear in rivals? He’s just all pace

Have whatever opinion you want. But just tell me what good does it do to be negative about the team you support before even a ball has been kicked in the season?
The question was will this be the window that bring back our identity, I just dont believe it will and if anything by the looks of it it's still more like a Mourinho window focusing all our efforts on defense with the type of signings that Mourinho would have made had he still been here, where as if it was fergie he would probably make do with what we already have in defence and would be all about signing attacking flair players with the mentality of if the opposition score 3 we will score 4.

We could barely score from open play in the last 3 months of the season under the same manager and a better attack than what we are left with currently, how does this all point to getting back our identity in this transfer window, the reality is our main strengths this season is going to be defensively and hoping to pinch a goal on the break rather than a barrage of attacks that most opposition will fold under the pressure off.
