Perhaps they're put off by him not doing much at Liverpool although he was very young then. Was same with Aspas who struggled aswell and then others decided he was better as a big fish in small pond at Celta Vigo.
Came through Barca academy so might end up there again if he does well in CL next season.
That's what I've thought myself, but, as you say, that would be harsh considering he was only a kid then. Unfortunately, sometimes an unfair stigma can stick regardless of change, so it could be!
Lazio under Simone Inzaghi is the most “Italian” team of Serie A, that’s why insiders really wonder if any of them can function out of the system, maybe?
I think that'd hold more weight if you didn't see other Lazio players being hyped up these past few years.
For example, Savic has got a lot of hype and has been linked with big money moves despite not being as good as L.Alberto. F.Anderson became West Hams most expensive player and, prior to that, was constantly being linked with the likes of us (United). De Vrij got a big move to Inter (albeit on a free) and has shown his quality; outperforming Skriniar and Godin, imo.
I get Immobile being somewhat overlooked despite his great spell at Lazio because he's struggled at a big club competing at the top in Dortmund, but the way L.Alberto seems to be swept under the carpet really surprises me.
