I really like Grealish and feel gutted he went there. He's a tremendous player that I really wish flops for a couple of years.

I just love to see a player finally get his dream move, like he said it was a dream come true and I believe him. I bet my ass on Jacky boy watching City playing their hearts out when he was like 10 years old and telling his mum he wanted to go there when was a big boy pro.

He could have left last year instead of signing the contract and we wouldn't hold it against him. Or even that time when Levy was in for him. We understand that he's outpaced the club a long while ago and we've been blessed to keep him this long as you say.

It's specifically because he signed that 5 year contract after we almost got relegated and expressed his desire to see out this project and that this is his city, his home etc that makes it disappointing. He didn't need to do any of that. We've made significant strides and we really thought he'd be the one pushing us on.
Can see the broken promise angle but surely you see why he'd do that for one of the top clubs in the world? He's hardly hopped over to Everton. Re the rest of the post, you should be happy he signed an extension especially after you almost got relegated and in doing so ensured that his boyhood club got 100 fkin mil for him.

Emotions aside, in the last few yrs, he's led your promotion, saved you from relegation in the first season up and then stayed another season where you established yourselves more while signing a contract that ensured you get 100mil when he left. He's done most things right I'd say

If i get paid that much, playing for City is my dream comes true.

I might even burn Cantona's shirt live on youtube.
(then go to Cantona's house to have him personally sign a new shirt. Just because I'm filthy rich)

To be fair he’s lived so many of his dreams already, can’t dispute the lad Champion’s League/Premier League competing football.

He’s one of the few lads in the Premier League that it’s hard to dispute how much he actually loves his home club.

Just think about it, if we put in the same amount of money and Villa accepted it then he’d of chose us… which means every time he puts a city shirt on he’s wishing it was a red one. He’s done so many tweets which shows he supports us… maybe on derby day he’ll do a couple of own goals :smirk::lol: I still agree and stand by our decision to sign sancho over this guy. Rumours came out today about pep only signing him because he thought messi was staying at Barca..wonder how that made grealish feel. Was 2nd choice. We need to be at our very best this season to be even close to city with the attacking players they have.

He ensured we got 100 mil just as much as he ensured we didn't get 130m+. The club's hands were tied, as he would have tried to force a move to United for 60m or something similar had we not included the clause. He was hardly being benevolent.

Again, it isn't really the leaving for trophies aspect of it, but the timing. In comparison, there was no ill will toward Young and he was welcomed back with open arms. He left us when we were clearly on the way down (we'd just scraped survival), and gave finishing in the top 4 a right good go for 3 seasons in a row. He could have tried to force a move at any time then, as apart from Ronaldo he was the best winger in the league between 07-10. And he wasn't even a Villa fan or profess any belief in projects are anything like that!

No chance Grealish is listening to Pep's gibberish.
No chance at all. Grealish is surely up there with the least intelligent players in the league, so this whole picture just screams 'dumb kid sent to headmaster - again.'

The masturbatory fawning over Foden last season amongst the media was bad enough. Imagine what it’s going to be like with Grealish at City.

Why is there a picture of a Chelsea player leaving Ederson in the dust on the monitor?

There's never an end to the what he could have done scenarios. He got you 100mn but he could have got 130. He gets 130 and he could have waited to see if you can get CL. He does that and so on and so on. You're blaming him for the clause saying you could have got 130mn while admitting he could have easily left for 60mn. Why's that not seen as a positive?

Exits are never perfect for fans but this one's as good as it gets from Grealish really from a neutral's perspective. Once the dust settles down, villa fans will realize this too.

Now all the dust has settled I have to say I am really excited to watch him in a blue shirt. I won’t argue if he is or isn’t worth £100M or if he is or isn’t going to be a better signing than Sancho because neither question matters at this stage and only time will tell.

What matters to me is staying top of the English food chain. Teams around us are making steps forwards and we have to shake things up to try and stay at that level. For me, Grealish fits the mould to a tee; big character, leader & bags of talent. After seeing the impact Dias’ leadership had on the team last year as captain at his previous club, I am hoping Jack can bring his own bit of bite to his end of the pitch as well.

It’s obvious we have one gap left in the team, but Peps comments yesterday confirm the club are still trying to fix that. It’s the hardest gap to fill because the list of top class centre forwards right now feels as bad as it’s ever been. Hopefully we get that resolved but if we have to wait another year for that then so be it.

 The PR are out in force trying to change the narrative that Jack would have chosen United in the blink of an eye had we been in for him.

I love the way they know that they can’t just put a straight up “United were interested” Tweet because we already chose Sancho for £73m and Varane took our spending over £100m so they have to go to make it sound like we could have legitimately done a deal for him by offering them a load of fringe players.

"I don't give shitty jobs... if a good man comes to me and says 'Pep, thank you for the opportunity and continued support in the work related arena, but I've done that, I want to be better myself, I want to move on.' Then I can make that dream come true, AKA, for you."

Yeah that’s bollocks. Grealish has made numerous comments about United over the years, says Old Trafford is his favourite stadium etc.

Probably just told Villa to let him join city and not get United involved when it was obvious United wouldn’t be spending the money on him after Sancho

Maybe I'm getting old (relatively) but I just can't be bothered to watch many of Aston Villa's matches.

He's not a world record fee. And he's definitely not as good as Eden Hazard despite the overrating on the caf
I meant British fee not world record fee.

this is an example of a lot of the problems we have here in the UK, looking at stats and thinking they mean much.
I’ve watched him play and he draws in fouls everytime. End of the day football is about scoring goals to win goals. Why do you think Pep wants to dominate the ball and have higher percentage on the ball? Football is about the numbers.

Some really embarrassing takes in here

They signed Jack Grealish, not second coming of Zinedine Zidane. Get a grip
This. Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player, but the hyperbolic melodrama about him is ridiculous.
