To even start your day by having a go with someone in Grealish thread, you have some issue.
I don’t want your point.
They tend to talk about the areas they'd improve in order of priority mate, you should know that when reading articles or listening to podcasts. He's saying what I said, that they need to sell if they want to buy, that he has many areas he'd like to improve, and started with defence, then holding midfield.

Partey is a completely different player to Grealish. I agree they need to bolster in holding/box-to-box midielders. But they don't need to improve on creativity anywhere near that. Unless you're suggesting Partey is a creative midfielder  Lets move on and see how this saga unwinds. Unless @Fracture90 @BenitoSTARR want a private show we can put a full lid on this and see how it unwinds.
For what’s its worth. You are right.

Fracture just made me laugh so I was piggybacking keep going!

Think Arsenal will try to sign him if Aubameyang leaves? seems the perfect fit for their 3-4-3 formation.

No they don’t, you are not watching the video at all. Ornstein was answering someone question whether they need to sell, he mentioned that they are looking for to ‘’move on from’’ aka “sell” their centre back. He later mentioned midfield because they also looking for to sell Guendouzi but not sure whether they will sell the wide area. That’s the reason why he mentioned centre back first. Nice try to trick someone to suit your argument.

Still waiting you to share your stuffs mate.
He literally says after securing Mari on a perm deal, they will be looking to sign another central defender.

Anyway, moving on, he makes it quite clear that there is still way too much to play out at Arsenal and a lot depends on funds. So yeah, this idea that they are "desperate" for a creative player of Grealish is overcooked at best.

I guess is a possibility provided that they get a decent amount for Aubameyang, who will be 32 next season and is in his last year of contact.

That's the club I see him at in my head. He'd be their best midfielder imo & start every game. Couldn't say that for any team above them.

But he never say which one priority though, the only reason he mentioned centre back first because that's the area they are looking for to sell. Their priority right now as far we know is defensive midfield, that's why they are heavily linked with Partey.

I've been telling you to move on and let's accept the differential, but you refused and asked to share the stuffs where Ornstein said they are looking to sign wide player. I gave you one and I asked you to provide one for your point too but you couldn't. Simple, you have your point, and I have my point. If you can't provide the stuff to back your point then don't call my point as "overcooked at best".

I’d be inclined to agree. I wouldn’t say perfect fit but he certainly offers something they lack.

The issue Arsenal would have in that scenario is as good as Jack is he’s never going to be the level of goalscoring threat as Auba. I don’t think Auba will leave though I can’t see a team in Europe in a strong position to a) need him and b) afford him.

What’s the general consensus around signing Grealish on this thread?

If I said VdB is a better option, does anyone disagree?

I was thinking of starting a thread to pit both against each other and see what everyone thinks. Not sure if I should since there’s been no concrete reports as of late, suggesting we’re seriously considering VdB..
If the price is right I would prefer Grealish as he is proven in the league and he would be even better with better players around him but I don’t think we would buy him and Sancho.
Saying that I only watched VDB in the latter stages of the Chmps League and he looks decent.

If they got him, they wouldn't be playing him as a CF, but behind Lacazette who would be playing CF in that scenario.

I could see a place for him in City and Leicester too but like you say certainly not as automatic starter.

I’ve said on previous threads that I’d be staggered if he doesn’t leave and I’m confident he’s gone. From his career perspective it makes no sense to stay at Villa any longer he’s done all he can for the club and Villa have an agreement in place for him to leave. I think it’s now only a question of who he goes to and of course money.

Villa will posture a bit more but barring a huge change of heart from Grealish and we’re talking complete 180 here. He’s leaving.

I don’t think they would play him as CF? I was thinking wide left.
I'm not suggesting that you indicated that they would play him as a CF. I'm suggesting that they wouldn't expect Grealish to reproduce Aubameyang's goal tally, that would be Lacazette's job.

Ah I see now.

I’d disagree personally I don’t think Lacazette is as good as Auba. He for me is a 15 league goal as season kind of striker. Good enough because of what else he brings but not able to replace Auba’s goals.

He isn't as good probably, but he'll be the vocal point of that attack, team will work to get service to him, he might fail, he might thrive, who knows.

I'm arguing against all of you that are just like that assuming that he'll be some sort of a press resistant presence that will magically drop deep to help relieve the pressure even though he hardly ever did that so far in his career. Each time i watched Villa, when they got pressed somewhat seriously and in an organized manner, they just hoof the ball upfront not to risk it.
I see what you’re saying but isn’t that more a comment about the Villa team. Unless you think they don’t trust Grealish to be good enough to receive the ball under pressure? Surely not, but if so it should knock a few quid off his price.

His value to us is not about how Villa play but about his abilities. He’s still learning but has very good technique. He can dribble which would be useful to us and he wants the ball. These are all good attributes to fit into a team trying to play through a press. One player does not beat the press on his own, the whole team has to do it, and it is as much about the guys in midfield showing for the ball and receiving it as it is about playing it out. Grealish wouldn’t have to keep running back to the box to get it off De Gea.

I'll ignore condescending bs regarding how battling the press works for the sake of healthier discussion.

I'm saying that he'll face adversity here the likes of which he never faced before and people assuming he'll just bristle through it, hitting the ground running based on his ability to dribble and get fouled? There are far too many question marks for a £80m player that's supposed to be a rotational player.

We're not looking for a player to hog the ball until he gets fouled or until he dribbles past 2 men.

You know what, lets agree to everything in bold because I can't be fecked explaining simple things to you. Noting the bold bit, that shows they "aren't crying out for a creative midfielder", so your point was overcooked bollocks.

Thanks/end.

Yeah okay. You don’t rate him. I do. The rest is padding.

I'd take him at 60M maximum, I think he is a good fit a good player, but not worth the fee that is touted by Villa.

They want DM, Creative player & Centre back. Those are the three position they are desperate to sign this summer.

How many replies from you but you provide zero stuff to back your point. If that's the case the same I can say that your point was also overcooked bollocks.

Thanks/end.

I was actually continuing for the theatrics as others were interested.
Anyway you've now gone from saying they are desperate to a creative midfielder, to a player like Partey would be a main target. So I've done my bit :D

Let me ask you this, outside of Arsenal of course which I'm sure you'll see as a remote chance. You agree theres no other clubs that will likely move for Grealish for £50m, right? That must make him an open goal for us, provided Villa succumb to £40-50m

Stop being complicated. They want DM, Creative player & Centre back means we can only say that those are the three position they are desperate to sign this summer. Ornstein also mentioned in the video about those three areas.

Why is it so difficult for you to just accept that?

They would like a wide player, but this idea that they're "desperate" for one is laughable and guess what, overcooked. You pointed to Partey to suggest this (guessing you don't much watch La Liga).

I gave you an option to move on btw and actually talk broader around Grealish and his next move outside of Arsenal as an option. And you opted to go back and be sour about this sub debate

Ornstein didn't say centre back as priority or bigger concern than the creative player though. Guess what when you said centre back is bigger concern than the creative player, overcooked.

Not going into debate about Partey in Grealish thread.

I just said other areas are a bigger focus point, such as defence and holding midfield/box to box midfield. Their open interest in Partey points to this. So yeah mine isn't overcooked.

Anyway, genuinely asking as a way to move on - would you agree we are the only club that would really pay £40-50m on Grealish?

If you want the win of this argument so badly then you can have it, you win.
