There once was a kid from Toronto...
Was class tonight, he’s just everywhere somehow. Really is having a great season.

I'm not sure I understand? The United fan base is probably the most enthusiastic about academy players making it to the first team. Are you suggesting that isn't the case?Is it a thing with United fans only to get super excited at the prospect of a youth product potentially making it with the first team (even as a sub)?
Am not saying Devaney will, but I'd love if 1 or 2 could get more minutes with the first team over the course of this season and the next.
Or maybe that's just me...
Sorry, it wasn't worded properly, I've not had much sleep.I'm not sure I understand? The United fan base is probably the most enthusiastic about academy players making it to the first team. Are you suggesting that isn't the case?
Yeah I'd say it is, it's just that the best youth products usually end up as squad players and it's the exception that they come through and take a starting spot. With PSR it's also stupidly made more sense to fill your bench with transferred in players and take the 100% profit on youth players that could be squad options.Sorry, it wasn't worded properly, I've not had much sleep.
Am always looking forward to the next United youth product, even if only as a bench option. I was wondering if that's just me, or it's a thing with United fans in general.
It’s great to see. I’d say he could feature in Nations League games in the Autumn. He’s been phenomenal this season. Don’t think it’ll be too long before he’s in the Ireland senior squad.
Closer to a Casemiro/Palinha type, I wouldn't say he's a pure destroyer type but maybe something like early Declan Rice at West HamWhat kind of midfielder is he compared to say Thwaites or Kone?
If he is going to be anything close to Casemiro or a Rice he will save us a fortune!Closer to a Casemiro/Palinha type, I wouldn't say he's a pure destroyer type but maybe something like early Declan Rice at West Ham
We need to cap him asapHe’s been phenomenal this season. Don’t think it’ll be too long before he’s in the Ireland senior squad.
He is where he is at the moment and doing well and we will see how he handles the next step up....that is all he can do.Does anyone know the potential of this guy?
Ireland badly needs a PL quality CM.
Is he potentially good enough to be a squad player at MU or more likely to sold to Championship or lower PL?
He's actually playing senior football in Scotland and getting good reviews but that's not a particularly high level.
Yeah next season will be interesting. He is where he is at the moment and doing well and we will see how he handles the next step up....that is all he can do.
Probably League 1 I reckon.Yeah next season will be interesting.
He should get a championship loan at a minimum.
The Championship is higher standard than Scotland.
Hope he declares for Ireland. England are stacked in CM but be could get 100 caps for us.
We're desperate for a PL level Irish midfielder so I'm hoping he comes good.At this moment he is good League 1 level player I guess. That probably means that with solid preseason with United (and we will be short in the midfield with WC around) and a little bit more physical development, he can opt for Championship as well, although not sure what is better for his development. I would like to see him loaned out, not sold yet, and probably to Championship midtable team that will give him some time, or to League One team that is fighting for promotion.
If he gets a good loan in the Championship next season, we could see him in squads for the Nations League.Only for the Scottish League finishes the weekend of the 16th/17th May I'd have said he's be in with a chance of the Ireland squad for the training camp and game against Greneda. That's the type of some of the players Heimer seems to have in mind for this camp if available
I think he's just really solid, I think he's floor is really high but his ceiling is still unknown. He seems to have the right mindset which will help him long-term. But I think next season he needs to be playing every week. I could see a couple of League 1 teams take a shot at him, but I'm really hoping a Championship team ends up going for him. Good thing for him is that physically he's fine and at 18 that's a good signWe're desperate for a PL level Irish midfielder so I'm hoping he comes good.
The clips I've seen of him look good.
Good passing range, good touch, good ball winner. Has a goal in him.
There are usually 1-2 bottom-feeders in there but by and large SPL is decent Championship quality (with at least 3 PL-standard sides in there at any point). It's also quite a robust league. If he's doing well in Scotland across more than 2-3 games then the club should definitely be looking at Championship loan next time around.I think he's just really solid, I think he's floor is really high but his ceiling is still unknown. Highlights of his performace vs Celtic. He's exceeding my expectations, I always thought he was a bit slow on the ball to receive/turn but he's proving me wrong, the other parts of his game like passing/positioning are really solid. Will be interesting to see what we do with him next season.
Fans of both Celtic and Rangers have said to me that he played well against them and that he is one to watch, decent on the ball and good awareness of what is going on around him.
Fingers crossed for him, but let's not forget the case of Dylan Levitt, who looked great on loan to Dundee United (and Mitchell at Hearts before him, albeit as a full-back).
It would be great to see him in the Championship next year, but I'd probably prefer to see him in Scotland again than go to League 1 after things going so badly for Gore there so far.
