One of the best players in the world is neglected for Mount and Saka (don't care how good the latter has been) throughout the tournament. Then he basically fecks him over in the final of the fecking EUROs. Good job, Southgate. Should be managing in Sunday League, he still has PTSD from 1996

Don't start him the entire tournament, barely even play him. Keeping him as a mere bench option.

Put him for the last minute of the tournament to score a penalty.

Southgate is a fecking clown.
He started one game and did well?

Southgate is a weird manager but they are his calls to make. I’d have gone with Sancho from the start today. It was a negative team.

Hopefully he'll get off to a great start for us

Southgate completely mismanaged him

I'm sure the match going United fans (unlike some negative souls on redcafe) will know how to support him and Rashford even more. Ole and the lads will welcome him well and he will start to fluorish.

You guys played the best football with Sancho in the starting xi. Then, he was replaced by Saka for no reason. Criminal mismanagement of such talent. Cannot wait to see him for united next season.

All I care about is that he is fit and healthy and avoided any injury. Now he can sign for us.

There been any word on the medical / finalising the deal?

Would think it'll be done before he goes on holiday.

I am not gonna write about Southgate who is the biggest coward ever in terms of his negative approach but for the sake of Rashford and Sancho I am glad that they both miss that penalty so they do not have to take that responsibility alone and together can have easier way to come back stronger.
Plus probably every next penalty wont be as much pressure on them as yesterday, i rok the most important penalty my country ever had and i missed so missing this one is nothing, It should help them.

I'm still on sunday with my thoughts. Question: Is he known as a good penalty taker or has he regularly taken them for Dortmund?

If not, it's even more baffling to introduce him in the 119. minutes only to take a pen in such circumstances.

he only took 3 pens at Dortmund, all last season. Scored all of them.

if you count all of his penalties throughout his career including youth tournaments, this was his second miss in 12 penalties.

I get the feeling Southgate went will how they did in training on pens. Which of course is different when the pressure is on and you havent really found your rhythm with the ball.

Seen a story saying Cavani doesn’t want to give up #7
Last thing I read is Cavani would be happy to take the 21 as that's the number he wears for Uruguay, that would mean James changes numbers also

Oke thanks for the replays. It was a baffling decision to bring them on in the very last minute imo.
But let's move on. Can't wait to see Sancho in red

With Rashford finally getting an operation to fix his shoulder and maybe his ankle and thereby being out for the first third of the season, I bet Sancho is going to play from the left more to start out. He's already been playing there more often for Dortmund so it'll smoothen his transition into the team. And it means Diallo will get more time on the right.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

Yep, Sancho playing on the left to begin with might be a good thing. Having Shaw behind him to work with, plus our natural inclination to gravitate towards that side of the field, it's set up for him to start with a bang. Then he can be high on confidence and have less pressure on him if he moves back to the right once Rashford returns.

In saying that, it probably depends on how well Martial is playing. He'll certainly get some games on the left as well, and if he gets back into form then Sancho may still mostly be on the right.

Why are they apologising? Can’t remember Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard doing the same when they missed important penalties for England.
