Really stupid of Sancho not to back down on this one. Pretty much has a wide open opportunity at RW for weeks/months.

Not to defend Sancho or anything and I still don't think he should play for us until he apologises to the manager, but I think it's a shame that we finally get a striker that makes some good runs and can hold up the ball well only for this guy to throw a tantrum.

If Sancho had some of the opportunities and space Rashford had on the left, Hojlund may have had a couple of goals today...

Interesting bit from Ole's interview with Mitten for The Athletic:

Jadon was put up as the No 1 target for the right wing by the scouts ...

(...)

He’s immensely talented and we haven’t seen the best of him. I hope we do, but he prefers to play left wing… where Marcus plays.

It's always puzzled me why he's played so few games on the right. The fact that he was specifically signed for that position makes it even more puzzling. It sounds like the reason is that he has specifically asked not to play there, or maybe even refused to do so. If that's his attitude, it doesn't bode well for the odds of the current issue being solved.

It was clear before his move that he was more comfortable on the left. He had one season being played mainly on the right at Dortmund and that was in front of one of the two best wingbacks in the world. In his other seasons, he was playing more on the left.

The signing never made much sense with Rashford on the right and Greenwood for that matter on the left. We also bought two young right-wingers after failing to sign him in 2020. No club with any common sense would've bought Sancho in 2021. What Ole is saying paints him in a bad light and makes me believe he barely watched him before he signed him.

Watched Callum Hudson-Odoi for Forest. He is 22. Sancho is 23. Hudson-Odoi cost £3m. Sancho cost us £73m.

Hudson-Odoi actually goes past players and scored on his debut. Sancho doesn't. Forest I'd bet would never want to swap.

what an idiot. With our RW situation right now had he just apologized and worked hard easily would slide back in there.

Not a chance - we’ll take Sancho off your hands though? £5m?

I doubt a top club wants him with these issues
No chance! (then watch lightning strike twice...) he would basically be doing the greatest landing on your feet act ever. If that happened I'm going to ask him to get me a lotto ticket. What a muppet.

he can feck off. players have to learn that they are not bigger than the club and the manager has to stay in charge of control. if eth gives in he is dead in the long run. sancho all in all is a big disapointment on and now off the field

The puzzling thing is that our scouts had him as our no1 RW target.

It was clear that he preferred the left and he'd already switched to the left for Dortmund before we signed him.

Even if it is real, playing fifa an hour before the game isn't really a big deal. Obviously looks bad if he's playing fifa while the game is on but as a fan I don't even tune in to watch pre match build up.

Aye, what else is he supposed to do?

He's sat at home, he's not in the squad. As much as I think he's been a total waster, this isn't really something to get worked up about.

I don't think it matters if he's playing before the match. Playing during the match would be taking the piss. He's not even with the squad, so what else is he gonna do? The initial Tweet was at 7pm and the game kicked off at 8pm.

The guy obviously gives no fecks, but if he's at home, I don't really care what he's doing before a game.
