Jadon Sancho: Free Agent

He reminds me of a guy I knew growing up who had stacks of potential, very intelligent but spent the mid to latter years of high school bunking off to play console. Now spends his days jobless, no direction, doing drugs. Just a waste.

Sancho is simply a bellend and if feel sorry for any club he plays for. The only way Dortmund got anything out of him was basically making Haaland his shadow

I wouldn't be surprised if he retires from football altogether. I really don't see any other club being daft enough to want him.
He will sign for Dortmund. They still love him there.

5 years on our books and had to loan him out for most of the last 3 seasons.

A woeful outcome for a player that seemed like a huge signing at the time.

Finished 2nd and signed Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane and crumbled.

I have a strange feeing that Sancho is going to do well at his next club. The expectations are gone now and he is a decent footballer when he decides to be.

Should've probably seen Pep getting rid of him as a sign back in the day. Oh well.

Are you sure that an Ipswich, Coventry etc wouldn’t take him? I bet that they’d love him. I’m sure that they would work out a deal on salary with United.
United would have to pay like 80% of his wage to even make it remotely feasible and even then what would be the point if he can't get off the physio table? We've never tried to loan him because no club would be dumb enough pay his wage. We're entering into his 4th season with us and he's had about as many "good" games in that time.

Edit: For reference capology have Ipswich p/w for their full team at just under 575k and Coventry at just north of 300k.

Just did a quick google to see what he's was up to as I assumed he'd be at his next team by now and it's crickets out there for him. Would be really sad if it didn't feel like this was total self sabotage from him, scary to think how you can go from being one of the most sought after wingers in the world to being lucky to get a Turkey/Saudi move in your prime.

not scary at all for him.
He could retire tomorrow and give zero fecks. Just like he gave in the last 4 years of professional football.
I don’t hate him for it. He did what he did (or didn’t)
Maybe he’ll be happy with that maybe not I don’t care. From an outsider looking in it’s a colossal waste. But people are people and maybe he’s happy with what he has done.
From a Utd angle. Worst signing ever (and we’ve had a few). Full stop. The guy never even tried.

Probably even worse than Dele Ali in that case, which is indeed sad to see

Self-inflicted wound by the man-child. He has more than an enough wealth to live out a wonderful life out of the spotlight, and given the absence of any interest in him that's his likely fate for the next 60 years or so of his life. But if he really wants to get back onto the pitch, he might want to market himself to an MLS club. The Americans love English footballers and I'm sure he could handle, at least physically, the demands of playing for the Portland Timbers or LAFC. But psychologically, none of us have any idea where his mind is at these days, such is the humiliation he has subjected himself to.

I read that he got a very good offer from Al-Rayyan and that’s probably the way to go. One more big contract and he has made a lot of money out of football. The league won’t demand the same physically and he can live a luxury lifestyle during his time there.

I think that’s the best route when your heart isn’t in it. Get the big contract while you can, retire early and enjoy your life

I think what you’re missing is that never has anyone had “going to lose my fortune to swindlers and hucksters” written all over him more than this guy.

He’ll put all his money into crypto, then the monorail salesman will enter the room…

Say what you will about monorails, but it put Ogdenville on the map

He’s a millionaire, already set for life so he probably won’t play football for a living anymore. He can be a full time gamer which he so likes

Sancho - "Is there a chance I'm worth a punt?"
Berrada - "Not on your life, you lazy cnut."

Im leaning towards Mourinho's speech in Spurs dressing room for this one. Be a cnut but dont be a stupid cnut, be an intelligent cnut. Sancho has made stupid decisions for years.

Well, Jadon. Is this where you expected to be in early August? How’s that “freedom” working out for you?
Sancho, who was a youth player at Manchester City before signing for Dortmund in 2017, thanked the club in a video with Flixton manager Alex Mortimer.

"You've got a nice layout, I must say," said Sancho on his first visit to the area, adding with a smile: "It's the first time I've seen a nice pitch - apart from United and City."

It's telling that none of his former clubs have offered him a chance to train at their facilities.

This guy must be a right cnut

I think it’s more telling that clubs are bidding 70, 80, 90 million for average players and he hasn’t got a club on a free transfer in his prime.

Next level of washed
He could still find a club with reasonable wage demand, but he won't.
He rejected 200k/w at Chelsea and probably plotting to scam another mega contract.

Too bad everyone knows you are just a lazy cnut by know

Saw a YouTube clip the other day saying that they think his mental downfall occurred after his penalty miss at the Euro's in 2020.

If that is the case, he is either seriously mentally weak, or has some undiagnosed mental disorder that was triggered by that incident.

Either way - what a waste.

I genuinely believe he is navigating a few mental health issues, as the drop off from all the potential and promise he had when he joined is quite simply shocking. It is really sad to see regardless of whether one likes him as a person/player.

Sad thing is, because no one really knows what's going on, we're all guessing at the reason for his downfall. If there is some kind of major mental issue going on and perhaps there's been some trauma in his life, he'd probably gain a lot more respect and understanding if he was open about it like Dele was. But of course that's entirely up to him to share.

I guess we'll probably never know.

Yeah we will just be left to speculate

He is probably the last resort option for most clubs who fail to get their targets late in the window. He will find a club for sure

When a non-league club rejects all association of being with you when you're only 26 at your prime, you know your career is done. He needs to go see a psychiatrist, definitely has some mental issues.
