The latest Athletic podcast is a bit more realistic about things (filmed and released today)

They say the stories from yesterday are just from Germany, and United’s stance is different and that things aren’t that far along.

Also said that Dortmund are thinking of waiting until next Summer to try to create an auction because they think that they can get more money when clubs are financially stronger and competing against each other more.
Yeah I think I’m going to go with Romano on this one instead of the UK clowns.

Well, I unfortunately came across this article on Liverpool.com of all places while searching for news on Jadon Sancho

https://www.liverpool.com/liverpool-fc-news/features/liverpool-premier-league-transfer-news-18711582

Firstly, why is a rubbish article on Liverpool's official site coming up on a Jadon Sancho search, I'll never understand.

Secondly, it actually comes across as incredible Rawkish (read as pathetic), with the whole 'You may have Sancho etc, but you wish you had our defence, huh!?'. Feck off you insecure clowns with your rubbish combination of 1 title smugness and inane suicide inducing poetry bullshit.

I feel better now.
Jesus Christ  post that in the RAWK thread

Why is having a more negative view of progress necessarily more realistic? Just a different view to some very knowledgable journalists

That reads like a journo's personal opinion rather than fact.

You’re right. I used the wrong word.

I meant a more humble.. less exciting.. view

I can’t find the right word. Hopefully you see what I was trying to say

They did still think it will most likely happen. Just that there’s lots of negotiation tactics through the media going on and it will most likely take longer than we’re told.

Personally I think if it gets done it will be more early September

Thankfully people who are running Dortmund are not as dumb as they seem to be making them to be this is the best time for them to sell Sancho they aren't getting similar deal next season auction or no auction. And why the stories are being pushed in Germany when they don't even want to sell this season doesn't make sense this deal would go through for certain in next few days.

Does this make sense to the person that said this? Dortmund are briefing a deal is almost done and also they don't want to sell and will wait till next summer?

I agree far more with the comparison with Hazard than Ribery/Robben. Which makes me think it's going to be a really tricky job for OGS in order to find a place for both Sancho and Bruno if he signs. Sancho carries the ball a lot and so does Bruno, it's going to be hard for them not to bump into each other, especially because Sancho likes to go from left to right and grab the ball 35m from the opponent's goal.
No, I think Fernandes will be brilliant teaming up with Sancho. Bruno is excellent at little flicks and through balls and Sancho is similar. I’d say they’ll enjoy playing together.

For those who said he's not a flair or electrifying player

His ball control and dribbling ability in tight spaces in Martial-esque

We could have our very own Hazard esque player at United, finally. Although Sancho has to prove he can replicate it at a top league like Hazard did, he has the potential to have a bigger and more consistent end product than the Belgium although he's slightly less of a playmaker ( but as intelligent if not more in terms of final third decision making).

Looking at his compilation of goals and assists last year.. I see that it's a lot of tap-ins.

Glad to see these types of goals are only an issue when it comes to Ronaldo, but everyone else it's still a goal.
One thing that stuck with me from watching Sancho over the last couple seasons is his desire to get into the box. He sprints towards the goal a bit like Ronaldo when there’s a good break happening or after a one two. Sounds simple but gets you goals.

Well they say the talk is coming from Germany, not Dortmund.

Most likely Sanchos camp. Who will want the deal to happen quicker than anyone else I would imagine.

We're at a delicate stage here and I dont want to descend into hyperbole but I'm trying to remember who the last signing was that excited me this much. I think it was Veron.

The likes of Chelsea and City getting their business done early... meanwhile, Edward the Oaf haggling over a few shillings (OK a bit more than that) and not getting anything done and now being given a deadline by Dortmund which we'll pretend they aren't serious about only to be shocked when they refuse to talk to us about Sancho

I know right? Chelsea declare their interest in Ziyech and then Bam! A season later he's theirs.

Out of interest, why would you say he’s slightly less of a playmaker? Can you elaborate? I would have thought his assist numbers over the past couple of seasons would say otherwise. It would be interesting to see a comparison between that and Hazard’s best assist seasons.

For a deal worth a reported 120m I feel this is happening extremely quick, from all accounts most sources are claiming it’s virtually done.

The transfer window's been open about a week. If we get this over the line in the next week, which looks likely at this stage, we are getting out business done early
