Sancho refusing a paycut to stay at Chelsea will be his final «feck you» to us.
Depends on a paycut. Chelsea deliberately leaking ´an offer withing a wage-structure´ is already a bit suspect. Which could be like 80k a week basic if you believe sources above, about low wages under new CFC regime.

Sancho on 250k+ will never agree to that. Or at best he asks Unted to subzide the package for remainder of his deal with United. Of course the fecker will also ask for a ´loyalty bonus´.

Personally suspect this is a face-saving operation from Chelsea. We really wanted to go through with "obligation" but could not agree terms with the player. (Sorry to be a buzzkill, I really hope this manchild is gone asap wherever it is).

Thing is, he seems well liked by the players and around the club and Maresca seems to really like him as well. I think we’ll come to an agreement and he stays.

Read the match commentary from yesterday’s game which said: ‘goal from Jason Sancho, who like others seems to be thriving away from Old Trafford’. It’s 5 goals in 41 games for him at Chelsea, and most of his assists are in the conference league. Thriving! Feck these ABUs

20 million and he’s all yours Chelsea.

Is there a scenario where Chelsea pull out, pay us the £5m and then come back later in the window with an offer of £10m?

We won’t be getting £20m from anyone else.
Of course! Why would you buy for £20M when you can get for £15M? If they thought they could pull that off, you can bet your hat they'd do it.

It's a business. They'll do whatever they can to minimize the price they pay to us. As will Sancho do whatever he can to extract the most from us/Chelsea. And of course, we'll be doing whatever we can to minimize payouts to Sancho and maximize payouts from Chelsea.

His loan contract ends June 30th.
Unlikely. Yes normal contracts end of June but loan deals near always end after the clubs last competitive match.I know what the BBC report said but I still don’t think the 30/6 date is correct

Is behaving well and the manager liking a player good enough to just buy him? He has been atrocious for you

I’m assuming if Chelsea isn’t trying to feck him over with the new terms - he will accept.

He’s in London, seemingly happy, winning trophies and scoring in finals so - assuming Chelsea’s offer isn’t a piss-take, it should be a done dealio

Definitely hasn’t been atrocious. Just kind of meh.

Personally, I'd be ecstatic if we signed him up. We are not getting anything better on the market for 25m even for a squad player role. It barely even gets you a top rated 18yr winger(Quenda). The LW market isn't great right now so I'd rather 25m on Sancho and see how Nico Williams and Yildiz do for one more year.

Cool pay up feckers.

I think he wants to stay hence the salary negotiation, they probably wanted to pressure him by leaking they will opt to pay the 5m to send him back, and Sancho has no intentions coming back to OT, so his agents went to Chelsea to negotiate a new deal.

I bet utd will have to pay part of wages(as a one time payment) to push the deal through

Give him the payoff he wants and get rid. Even a gbp 15m-20m net would be a positive. We need to end this horror story.

You are better off signing Nico Williams

Btw thinking about this, i think Sancho just might have a mental block when it comes to the PL. I know the league is more physical and whatever, but
A. That still doesn't explain how his passing and final ball can go from exceptional at BvB to nonexistant in the PL
B. We've all seen Nuno Mendes defend Salah and Saka? Right? We agree he's one of the most exceptional physical specimens around among left backs, right? That even in the PL he'd be one of the best?

We all remember how Sancho took his fecking dignity last year, yes?

Going from being able to do that against Nuno Mendes to being unable to beat a chair can't just be down to "hur dur PL athletes"

Great to hear that even Margarete from accounts likes him very much.

Maresca must use his VETO and sign Sancho even against Boehlys will who seems hesitating.

Looks like Chelsea will take him if he agrees to £80-£100k a week.

Personally, I do not see it. Next season he is due £250k a week and after he is out of contract he can command a signing on fee and a higher wage than that - or at least a similar wage and a signing on fee, after getting his £250k a week next year.

Only way I see it working is if he is paid off to go.

I'm not sure he can command anything like he's currently earning if he has another total nothing year. Five years of Chelsea's wages is a lot of guaranteed money in the bank for him

Some months ago when the existence of £5 million get out clause was put in the public domain I pointed out that the fact that the basics of any Chelsea contract hadn’t been agreed wasn’t just unique it was very strange .
I suspect that the deal on offer at Chelsea will probably be of a decent length but the base salary will be significantly less than £100k a week.
The problem is that the one year he has left on his Utd contract is probably still worth around 3 maybe even 4 years of the deal on offer at Chelsea.
If I were his agent I would advise him to indicate he will see out his Utd contract and whilst he certainly won’t be getting the sort of deal he currently has him being a free agent is a significant bargaining chip.
Utd would certainly be in a very awkward position as they would almost certainly have to put a significant sum on the table to get him to cancel his deal.
Utd to a large degree are powerless but it all goes back to the terms of the loan either Utd were incredibly desperate to not have him at Utd or the person drawing up the agreement was incompetent.

But thats still asumming Chelsea really are offering any contract. Number of CFC connected journos tweeting about "talks with Sanchos agents" means nothing.

As said previously could be just a PR game to safe Boehlys face. That they really wanted to pay United agreed "obligation" of 25mil but just could not agreed terms with Jadon.

They are going after big strong decicated players now after securing CL footie. Not taking on a fairweather depending on enough sleep technician.

If its the case then no harm for Sancho. He possibly looks forward to a year of doing nothing for huge wages - and whatever clubs interested next summer I will see. If nobody serious I can semi-retire, waiting for a stupid Besiktas giving me another couple years of good fortune for strolling around with an ocassional bit of magic.

Im problably too harsh, but when you read Sanchos mentality lately (so about 4-5 years), then you should expect rather the easiest, laziest way to keep his stupid income.

Moving from Utd now means he could say goodbye to around £6 million after deductions for the last year of his current deal.and that is guaranteed.

How would it be a PR game to save Bohley face? If you think Bohley would even miss a seconds sleep or care a jot then sorry I think you are massively miss reading matters here

Chelsea weren’t, it seems, under any obligation to pay Sancho £x as part of the deal and he, Sancho, his agent and indeed Utd would have known that terms would have to be agreed before any deal would proceed.

It all goes back to the terms of the deal and something I do wonder is if any fee , even the £5 million is payable if a deal between the
Chelsea and Sancho can’t be struck and that would be a massive sting in the tail.

Yes, the "penalty fee" was obviously put in the deal to protect United from exactly this

Yeah get him off our books Boehly, youve got loads of money and that dont be stingy

Yeah, just an Amorim look on chubby Sancho in the first session after summer jollies would be priceless.

Which is better? 250k at MUFC for 1 year? Or 120k at Chelsea for 4 years?

He is taking a paycut in summer 2026 either way. The question is does he risk being a free agent in 2026.

He'll probably sign for Chelsea. Gets another decent contract and can continue to pretend he's a big boy at a big club while doing feck all.

this is a good point. Nobody is going to pay him 250k for his next contract. Get job security for the next 4 years and endear himself to the Chelsea fans for taking a paycut. Since Chelsea offered more incentive based contract, he probably recoup most of his 250k if he does well there.

Just need this nesbit to refuse his reduced contract at Chelsea to really top things off at the moment

This assumes no-one will sign him after his contract ends, which is obviously untrue. If so, on those figures, he’d only need to agree a 3 year contract on £80k per week with a new club to be better off.

Bearing in mind that new club also then wouldn’t be paying £25m for the privilege of his services, financially it would clearly make more sense for him to hang around until 2026 if that’s the best offer Chelsea will make.
