I can see him staying, simply because no one will ever pay him that wage again. He's going to be really tough to get rid.
Only we can feck up "obligation to pay" deal. These 5 mil are basically a loan fee (which other clubs get when loaning players ).I will never trust the word obligation again.
…….I think that his refusal to sign for them is an indication that he prefers to run his contract down and move for a free next year so that he can pocket a signing fee and potentially a better salary for future seasons……….
I wishCan we not just give him the 5 mil to feck off

Well it is likely the offer from Chelsea was nowhere close to what he is currently on either. He can sit tight and get the last year of his United salary and keep his value where it is now by playing on loan somewhere. Next summer he can negotiate with clubs who don't have to pay a 25M transfer fee for him and as a result they may be willing to pad his salary a little more and give him a decent signing bonus. I don't think he is taking much of a risk.If he runs his contract down, I can’t see him getting any offers coming close to what he’s currently on.
What’s left of Sancho’s poor reputation, is mostly in the toilet and his value will have collapsed.
Any signing on fee would be a nice earner, even if it’s not massive, but he’ll only be able to command a fraction of the wages he’s on with Utd.
That’s if anyone will have him?

Well that applies to every player that runs down their contract but if he is like most top sportsmen he will have insurance against that anyway. In truth I am not that sure he would be bothered if he couldn't play anymore.Like an injury?

Shush, we’re trying to get rid of himPromoted clubs are typically up against PSR/FFP & I suspect Leeds would struggle with his wages. He could probably help quite a few Premier league clubs but very few could afford him.
“From one pwoper Chels to another…”I wonder what Chelsea offered him as a wage, could of been £50 quid a week, then they can say “Sorry Jim we are gonna have to send the cnut back, tried everything we could to convince him to stay, we’ll be in touch over Garnacho next month xx”
If I had to guess we probably offered him £100k per week or thereabouts with incentives that he could reach to earn more. I believe the higher end of our new wage structure has been around £120k if I recall correctly.I wonder what Chelsea offered him as a wage, could of been £50 quid a week, then they can say “Sorry Jim we are gonna have to send the cnut back, tried everything we could to convince him to stay, we’ll be in touch over Garnacho next month xx”
He’s just pure greedy. Not shown anything at either us or you to warrant the wages he wants. If I had to guess we probably offered him £100k per week or thereabouts with incentives that he could reach to earn more. That would be a pretty respectable wage offer for someone of his production but you can kind of understand why someone making maybe 3 times that currently would say no. Where he thinks he’s getting that elsewhere is the mystery, though.
He will probably happy to accept this offer next summer with a signing fee and save Chelsea £20m. Chelsea can probably loan him again for next season if fail to land their target LW this summer. It is a win win situation for both Sancho and Chelsea. If I had to guess we probably offered him £100k per week or thereabouts with incentives that he could reach to earn more. Is there any chance Ruben could coax a tune out of him? Surely Sancho has some ambition left.....
Because it's cheaper, to them, Sancho isn't worth 25m+250k pw, if he tore it with them perhaps they would have taken him but he didn't do anything worth spending 25m+250k pw in him, and the news about them discussing terms with Sancho indicate they were willing to keep him on reduced wages, and since that didn't work, they are sending him back.So Chelsea just wanted to throw away five million? Why would they do that?
Seems most likely he will be loaned and released. He is still a reasonable winger for a low tier club.
My prediction - he stays at United and is useful for us in some way for the year then we release him
