If you want a player who will turn back in fright at the first sign of a defender, or will amble around without a care in the world when the opposition have the ball you sign Rashford.

If you want a player who has his very own Playstation 5 Pro, you sign Sancho.
Oh no, I've just thought; is there a Juve e-sports team and that's what he thinks he's signing up for?

The last three days:

Day 1: Juve in talks for Sancho.
Day 2: Juve prefer Conceicao over Sancho
Day 3: Juve close to Sancho signing

Day 4: .......

If they sign him we should move stadium, change our name and strip and forget all about Manchester United, like witness protection for a football club just in case they try to bring him back.

Just refuse EA the usage of your crest and name and he will just think you ceased to exist.

I'm more old school, I was thinking sensible soccer, so we would be manchester reds, managed by Ruby anteater

He's a very fortunate lad. Hasn't played any decent football in years but has earned a fortune, two loan moves that ended with European finals and now a move to Juve.

So little effort put in yet so much received. He needs to share his secret.

Confirmed by top sources in Italy... But also, they prefer Sancho over Nico Gonzales (theirs, not the one at City). Meaning, if the Argentinian get shifted they will go for both Sancho and Conceiçao.

Did Chelsea offer him less than what Juve are offering ? Otherwise it doesn't make sense.
Depends if the 6,5m euros reported is gross or net (Italian salaries are usually reported as net). If net - then that's a fairly high wage (circa 250k euros per week) but if it's gross, the offer is around half that (depending on tax rate). I doubt Chelsea offered him anything more then 125k to 150k max per week (which was their part of the loan salary they covered iirc).

Juventus offer is reported to be €5,5M net (€10,2M Gross = £8,7M) = £ 167k/ week... Would make him the second highest paid player. Only Vlahovic ahead

It says he wants €7M (£ 210k/ week), which is closer to what he is earning now (€15M gross == £ 250k/ week) according to this Italian paper.

Their highest paid players. (Lordi means gross, Which is how salaries are reported in England....)
Stipendi Juventus 2024 2025 – Rivoluzione era stata annunciata e rivoluzione è stata fatta.

  • Dusan Vlahovic – 12 milioni netti (22,2 lordi)
  • Douglas Luiz – 5 milioni netti (9,25 lordi)
  • Gleison Bremer – 5 milioni netti (9,25 lordi)
  • Kolo Mouani – 5 milioni netti (9,25 lordi)

Chelsea offered him £90k.
I am seeing online that Chelsea offered him an average base salary plus some highly variable bonuses that could potentially get him his 250K.

I simply don’t believe juve are willing to pay 25million euros for a player that his club want him out and haven’t allowed him back to train with the squad when they can get for free in 11 months time .

Thanks, bud. The earlier tweet I was referencing said the offer was 6m and he would be willing to compromise at 6,5m (that's what i based my 'back of cigarette box' calcs on). But not sure how reliable those tweets i was referencing were anyway! Hoping this can get done! Please!

Agreed - seems too good to be true.

All these salary numbers and discussions are probably very far fetched and probably his agents trying to drum up some business…..I personally think he will just hang on to go on loan for the season and then be off for free next summer.

Any players moving on a free will just command a bigger signing on fee, it's not exactly £20m now vs £0 next summer for Juve

Free transfer doesn’t mean he costs nothing.

Wait, are Juventus actually paying a fee to acquire him? Juventus? A fee?

Looks like they made a profit last season and are in the CL again? Doesn't seem like a bad punt for them if so, maybe on a 3+1 contract or something?

He is no worse than the shit they’ve been buying…

They spent €200M last season. He is better than most of these players.

And they won’t be handing over anything near to 20m to Sancho either

please god let this deal be done and confirmed soon. get this absolute waster off our books and far away from manchester

Wasnt Decreto Crescita rule abandoned in 2023 dec?

With regards to not agreeing terms with Chelsea, from what I can gather, despite the massive outlay in fees, they’re not paying crazy wages. A lot of back-ending deals and performance and appearance related bonuses rather than high base wages. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was under £100k that he was offered.

If you’re a half-arsed charlatan like Sancho, you’ll want as much guaranteed as possible rather than requiring you to turn up and deliver.

Know it's the wrong thread, but this makes their player hoarding approach even stranger. I just don't understand the project they're selling so successfully to prospective players - or maybe they know how to pitch it to agents better? So strange.

Yeah, maybe they see the outlay as good value if they can get him to perform anywhere near his Dortmund form in Serie A. The league is a bit slower so maybe it’ll suit him better. Also, if he’s free him and his agent would want a signing on fee and probably heftier wages - plus they might face some competition from other clubs, whereas now they basically have a free run at him.

If they see him having succes in Italy then they might not want to face competition for him in a year.

If, and it's a big IF, he's succesful then 25m is cheap. He had talent in Dortmund, he might get it again.

Yes abandoned... New players are not getting any advantages, but those who went to Italy between 2019 and 2022 can keep their tax deductions for a total of 5 years (possibly extendable under certain conditions). It still applies to some players...

On this list you can see that Nico Gonzales can keep 3.6 after tax from his gross salary of 4,75M... While Locatelli on 5,6M gross only keeps 3M net... The argentinian having left Stutgart for Fiorentina in 2021 can keep his "decreto crescita" for a minimum of 5 years.

Sancho is a different story. They'd have to pay him big bucks... No tax deductions for him.

Can see some sort of swap deal that will happen between Sancho and Vlahović as it seems they are desperate to get rid of him. Not that I rate Vlahović, but as one of those mutual FFP/PSR beneficial deals that kicks the can down the road and helps you out short term. Then you just hope the player works out better with you

If they sign him we should move stadium, change our name and strip and forget all about Manchester United, like witness protection for a football club just in case they try to bring him back.
The Chelsea deal was a mistake it should have been 10m to buy 15m to return.
