The glazers aren’t knowledgeable enough to have said “are you sure about this? We’re worried about the long term impact”

I can't say you're wrong about that, but I would very surprised if you're right. The Glazers have no interest in things like how much the main receptionist, the groundskeepers and janitors are paid, but surely they must have signed off at the least the largest player contracts.

News around twitter he demands €5m payout from United to join Juve. Seems too good to be true.

Worth every penny. We got 5m from Chelsea and 20m from Juve plus him and his wages are gone best bit of business we could do this summer

We need to qualify for the Champions League this season, we need to play Juventus in the group stage next season, we need to resign Ashley Young....

Can’t we just give the buying club a £5m discount to offset his stupid wages and get shot!?

Appreciate £25m is already heavily discounted so even I don’t believe that solves it.
It upsets the team dynamics in the new club if he gets massively more there. Often for team morale it's easier to factor it into the deal that the selling club pays it.

Sounds like Porto have dropped their asking price for Coincecao to €25m.

The Sancho-Juve deal will be dead in the water soon enough.
It seems Tudor doesn’t fancy Nicholas Gonzales, who was on loan and they bought him anyway because his loan from Fiorentina came with a real obligation to buy, that got triggered with enough appearances (no 5M fine work around like Chelsea) so they will try to shift the Argentinian and bring in Sancho.

I think Juventus regret the contract they gave Vlahovic back in January 2022 (went on a bidding war and had to match what Arsenal offered him), it is very unlikely they will agree to give Sancho a salary above their normal wage structure…

The cheek to basically demand for the compensation that we received from Chelsea for not signing him, on the way out...

Don't think he'll be remembered fondly by anyone in and around the PL

The severance pay will just be the difference in wages between what he is on here and what Juve are offering. I think AWB received similar and unfortunately he's probably entitled to it.

I say we just pay it and get rid of him. We'd have broken even on the Chelsea deal and will be saving £1m a month when this absolute cretin leaves the club.

I hope he fizzles off into obscurity. Genuinely can't stand the prick.

He's not "entitled" to it in any way but he has a contract here and if we want to get rid of him he has to agree to a new contract at another club so there might be little we can do, which I guess is what you mean

The price of freedom.
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” -Thomas Jefferson

i.e. please Man Utd never do such stupid deals again. There were various reports going around about his work ethic (or lack of it) before we signed him.

He's entitled to it in the sense that he'd be paid the money if he chose to sit on his ass at your place till the end of his contract. So yes, he is entitled to it due to his contract. He could waive his entitled salary in order to secure the move but clearly he doesn't want to do that.

Seems like a no brainer to get 25, pay him his 5 and then be done with it unless there is some PSR # that has to be met, if true.

No he wouldn’t. He’d have to fullfil his own contractual obligations to get paid here.

I hope we stand firm if he wants to be paid anything to leave. He owes us money after what he has served up for us

I think i'm on the most hated player bandwagon. Absolutely taken our club for a ride.

I don't get him and his team are doing

Some players are footballers for the money, not the legacy. It’s clear that all he wants is the full value of his inflated contract as the bare minimum and would happily enjoy another year wasted.

I have genuine concern about the clubs interested in him. Why would you? It doesn’t take much to upset him to the point he downs tools.

Can the club pay him this "severance" package in online gaming skins or something equally as overinflated in price as his ego is.

"Wow the club have bought me a £25K Mr Beast Fortnite skin! - get me on that plane to Juventus City!"

Bet oppo fans love him.

Pay him off. I think there's leverage with Rashford or Garnacho where you can say to them - "take the deal or rot in the reserves", because I think there's a real desire from both of them to play, if only because the World Cup is coming up. Sancho? I don't think he gives a shit. A year on the couch earning big money, even if it means he lessens his value next year - I think he takes that. So honestly, pay him off, move on.

Him leaving would have ten times better than Mbeumo signing. I'd be delighted to never see this cnut ever again.

reported progress on this and Rashford exits would be huge if true and sorted over the next week.

Selling Antony and Garnacho is far easier than these two

He is bitter about how it went at United, he expected to be a lord, a made man. He has no intention of leaving without every penny being paid up that he feels he is entitled too.

So Ben Jacobs (Chelsea whisperer) saying he rejected 180-200K wages at Chelsea. It's worse than I thought with him.

I like the way all these news sources are highlighting the 5m payoff to rub salt in the wounds of all Utd fans.
he's going.... who cares? Draw a line under it and move on I say..... glad its nearly wrapped up.

Delighted this looks like it’s going in the right direction. Looks like Rashford might be too? If we can get 60 for those two then that is some quality work.

I may be being idealistic but there is no way we should be paying him a severance package. If we do, you can expect the same from Rashford, Antony and Garnacho and we’ll end up retaining our reputations as being pushovers in the market.
