As far as I can see nothing has changed. The likes of Ornstein and Stone are still reporting that Dortmund have no intention of selling, so why the excitement? Man Utd may well bid for Sancho this week. If Dortmund doesn't want to sell then that's that. All the reports I have seen this morning have lines in them like 'there's a feeling it could happen.' A feeling from who? I have a feeling that I could win the national lottery this week. Doesn't mean its going to happen. I see people claiming that United wouldn't make a bid unless they were sure it'd be accepted. Where is the evidence for this?
Rob Dawson in his latest piece reports that privately Dortmund have briefed they're not gonna sell Sancho but have not relayed that information to Man Utd during negotiations.

So we’ve waited until October to finally make a bid which apparently isn’t even close to Dortmund’s initial valuation? Dear God

Except it's up to Dortmund. Not us
Yeah but if it's true that they just want a guaranteed 120m i don't see what they have to complain about with that

They will get the 120m within a year or so, unless football just ends.

And they will understand teams don't have 120m right now. They can have 70m up front now, then they'll get the rest once covid improves. They must be able to make that special exception considering the current climate.

Of course, none of us know the true story of what's going on behind the scenes

I can see this being our club stringing us all along to the window closes and we get no one of note. If they dropped all interest there would be pressure to look for alternatives, I think by keeping it in the media they can just claim they fought to the end for Sancho but just couldn't make it happen. It will backfire on them though as everyone has known all summer that if you give Dortmund what they want he can go.

If only the owners were so concerned with the club finances when leveraging debt against us and taking their dividends.

Are we absolutely sure Sky aren’t trying to get him to catch Covid? “Get on another plane, Gary. It’ll be fine. What’s the worst that could happen? Lick that self service checkout as well. Go on. Don’t be chicken.”

By all accounts any discussions that have taken place have been done via intermediaries, so why would Dortmund feel the need to say something directly to United?

All the excitement of this morning seems to have resulted from United telling the Manchester press pack that its going to make an offer. I am struggling to see what's changed.

But they are the selling club who have no motivation to sell, they have given us a this is what he is worth to us price and on these terms why would they accept anything else, I don't get this point that people keep making about what is reasonable, they can do and say what they want he is their player under contract why would the do anything but squeeze every last penny out of us, or failing that keep one of their est players

Well if the discussions are still going on between the intermediaries for both clubs then Dortmund can quite easily relay the message via the person that is representing them.

I just don't think it's a good bit of business for them to reject the amount they want, just because they can't get it all at once under these circumstances.

If I was selling a nice car that I wanted £120,000 for (i wish!), and the only person making me a serious offer was on furlough and he/she said to me "I don't have the money now because of furlough, I'll give you £70,000 now and then £50,000 once I've been back for work for a month" I'd obviously understand and accept.

If Dortmund have said he's not leaving, privately, I assume this has been conveyed. Do we know for sure discussions are ongoing? There's not much to indicate that. Even the transfer gurus have gone cold on the updates.

I truly don't want to believe we're that badly run and clueless that we'd make a proper bid when we've been told clearly and in privately its a total non starter. We're not that stupid.....are we. This is on, its a matter of time, and this is officially Sancho week.

Well I find it strange that United are still briefing that they're still in talks for Sancho. He may or may not arrive but I do believe a sizeable offer could test Dortmund's resolve in these testing times.

Not many team can fork out 120m in cash even if they had them on paper. Most of the clubs asset isnt liquid

Many could afford instalment, I think that's probably the issue.

At covid era like this loans are hard to come by. Even if there are loans it'll be costly.

The journalists don’t have a clue about the actual bid price. I remember when the Pogba and Lukaku deals happened. No one knew the agreed price until it was official.

We will pay a guaranteed 120m split up.

Few journalist have already mentioned it will be higher than that. Daily Mail piece was written by an intern with 2 months experience

65m rising to 90m with add ons.

What was the Havertz fee again? I think both these players are generational talents so interesting to compare. Although Leverkusen had no champions league and probably needed the money more.

Can’t fault BVB for rejecting that kind of bid. But how would the Mail know when the bid hasn't even gone in yet? Did they had a peek at the United's accounts sheet? Reckon it's bull

Is this the briefing?

What's been said, as far as I can see, is that United plan to make a take it or leave it offer of around £90m. There is no indication that United are in or plan to have negotiations over the price. In the same way there's no suggestion that Dortmund will cave and drop the asking price.

Dortmund haven't rejected anything yet?

An official bid is major regardless of size, as it gives Sancho a reason to push.

Why is Ed "baffled by Dortmund’s reluctance to negotiate"? They made it clear that there was a deadline (back in August).

Maybe they arent brief.

Going out with a statement like " negotiation are ongoing, united hasnt met dortmunf valuation and still trying" doesnt need you to be briefed.

It's basically a general blanket statement of i dont know much, nothing is official as we speak.

Not every tweet comes from the clubs

I don’t think Havertz is on Sancho’s level personally. Both great young players. But Sancho is a level above.

Why would they. It's not in their interest. They had united by the balls. If any keeping quiet about it makes more sense
United are briefing they're still in talks for Sancho and during those talks it hasn't been said that there's a deadline that needs to be met.

Sancho is more of an explosive talent but Havertz is amazing quality too. I think we will see this with time.

The first bid two months ago through the intermediaries? Think it was 90M including add ons? If that was rejected, i don't even think BVB would entertain this latest offer. That's why i reckon it's bull. No one knows the real offer at present now except United and perhaps the agents
