Does anyone still think that Woodward is dragging the transfer saga on to generate more clicks/stories? An impressive theory
Yeah i agree but just was pointing it may be to do with financial planning And the sanchez departure frees up the wagesMaybe. But unlike Alexis, Sancho will help generate a lot of new commercial revenue for the club
Highly doubtful.Does anyone still think that Woodward is dragging the transfer saga on to generate more clicks/stories? An impressive theory
You must be easily impressed if you think that's going to fly with fans and consumers in this day and age.Does anyone still think that Woodward is dragging the transfer saga on to generate more clicks/stories? An impressive theory
I’m sure we’ve got a sell on clause and buyback clause for Depay, Dortmund making us money as well as giving us Sancho.Tweet

Yes, yes.I reckon the deals already been done, but with lockdown we're stuggling to fine a reliable piano tuner for the welcome video
Well, there were a lot of fans on the forum a couple days ago. The gain, according to PR gurus, is that Woodward would brag the number of tweets on this topic at the AGM.Highly doubtful.
I mean, what would he or the club have to gain from it?
Sarcasm, mateYou must be easily impressed if you think that's going to fly with fans and consumers in this day and age.
Even Woody wouldn't be that much of a cnut to dick around with both clubs
A lot of fans waiting to debating about their club over a transfer on an unofficial site,Twitter, news outlets doesn't financially benefit the club though.Well, there were a lot of fans on the forum a couple days ago
We do.I’m sure we’ve got a sell on clause and buyback clause for Depay.
So was I, mateSarcasm, mate
I think this is actually true (in that they genuinely do reference social media activity during meetings) but I doubt he's just letting the saga run for the sake of it. Once it's announced it will leak within hours, regardless of whatever stupid video we have lined up if he joins us.Well, there were a lot of fans on the forum a couple days ago. We are both shit at that, thenSo was I, mate
Yes. We have first RefusalHave we got a buyback clause for Memphis?
This is how you quantify the size of this club to sponsors. Look at this traffic, engagements, trending...yadda, yadda, yadda. It's done on purpose. The deal is done, it just works for both clubs and the player to be talked about and in the media for over a month everyday. It's win-win for all involved. It's just part of the dance you have to do in the modern world. There will be no more closed door negotiations because you can't monetize it.Well, there were a lot of fans on the forum a couple days ago. Yeah, a spike in number of tweets for a couple of weeks is more important than adaptation and the rest of the transfer window before the season starts. TotallyWe are both shit at that, then
Christ how much lower in the barrell do you want to scrape?Doesn't Depay have a buy back clause not a sell on?
Would we be allowed to buy him back then immediately sell him on to Dortmund for the same price? They could probably save a fair chunk of money if we did that and sort out the Sancho impasse...may be against the rules though.Doesn't Depay have a buy back clause not a sell on?
Ha, it was a post in relation to would we get any % from a sale of Depay elsewhere.Christ how much lower in the barrell do you want to scrape?
What? We activate a clause buy back a player to sell to another club to help buy their player? Even for this place that is nuts.Would we be allowed to buy him back then immediately sell him on to Dortmund for the same price? They could probably save a fair chunk of money if we did that and sort out the Sancho impasse...may be against the rules though.
I don't agree. The very earliest he can play for us is around the 12th September (and further back than that if we get to the EL final) so I don't know why people are losing the plot about when it does happen. Like spoiled kids opening presents on Xmas eve because they can't wait any longer.
If he signs tomorrow you won't see him play for us any earlier than if he signs in 3 weeks time. Relax.
Believe we could agree to waive the clauses as part of sancho deal. It means lyon can sell at a lower price and still get the profit they want on hinWould we be allowed to buy him back then immediately sell him on to Dortmund for the same price? I’m 99% certain Madrid did that with someone a few years ago. They bought a player back to sell them for a higher fee. What? We activate a clause buy back a player to sell to another club to help by their player? Even for this place that is nuts.
Are you talking about the club gaining more exposure the longer Woody drags this transfer saga out? Well, United is a household name in practically every corner of the globe, any added exposure that comes as a result of delaying a transfer is a) minscule in the grand scheme of things, and b) unwanted due to it being negative PR.Well, there were a lot of fans on the forum a couple days ago. Think we all just want to hear an official agreement for our own piece of mind, well that is my feelings on the matter anywayThe very earliest he can play for us is around the 12th September (and further back than that if we get to the EL final) so I don't know why people are losing the plot about when it does happen. 120M in the context of Covid and less incoming financial revenue is overly expensive. Not when he has been the main target for two seasons and Oles top target and he wants to join and he isn't overly expensive in context.
I was being sarcastic, may be Im not good at thatAre you talking about the club gaining more exposure the longer Woody drags this transfer saga out? I could understand it from the minnows of the footballing world such as Rochdale or Doncaster or Liverpool, but United don't need it.
Morata maybe?I’m 99% certain Madrid did that with someone a few years ago. They bought a player back to sell them for a higher fee.
That was Morata wasn’t it?I’m 99% certain Madrid did that with someone a few years ago. They bought a player back to sell them for a higher fee.
I believe he uses the clicks, interaction, and exposure statistics to upsell sponsorship deals.A lot of fans waiting to debating about their club over a transfer on an unofficial site,Twitter, news outlets doesn't financially benefit the club though.
What does Woody gain from it?
Read this completely wrong and thought Sancho had a cat called Schrodinger. It’s 1pm so I can’t even blame just waking up.Schrödinger's Jadon. Sancho's cat. He's a United player and a Dortmund player at the same time. We'll pay €120m and walk away. He's dead and alive. Ed is a genius and an idiot.
Wow, @RiqCantona . You're really messing with my head, here.
Sounds a very Real Madrid thing to do. Can you honestly imagine Woodwood & Judge pulling this off for us? We'd end up with no players and 200M down.I’m 99% certain Madrid did that with someone a few years ago. They bought a player back to sell them for a higher fee.
He already knows a lot of the players, he's English and he used to live in Manchester mate. There's zero concerns over Sancho integrating.I don't agree.
Player A signing now gets a chance to integrate within the team, bond with his teammates and management.
Player A signing on September 11th doesn't. And is less likely to start well.
Throw in the fact that if you have patience, wait until early september and then it falls apart.. you're scrambling around for Target B last minute. And then do you want patience with him? Or do you want that one done quickly?
Always better getting business done as early as possible. Especially this year with no proper pre-season.
